Front desk
Heather Kat A.

I had to get an oil change and my mileage was overdue, my mechanic was sick so I stopped in at the local Jiffy Lube. It was a very quiet day at this location, and the second I pulled up a representative was out in the parking lot. They had me pull up to the front doors, pop the hood, get out of my car and go inside. They're waiting area is actually surprisingly decent, with large comfy chairs and coffee available. The service didn't take long, and while they did try to sell me a number of upgraded services, the tall black guy with dreadlocks at the front desk was really charming and professional. I will say that the one somewhat sketchy thing is that they told me my coolant was low, and there was a $4 charge for them to top it up for me. They couldn't clearly tell me how low it was, just that it was probably a half quart lower than it should be. I said go ahead and take care of it. When the next two customers also had the same treatment though, it seems that perhaps this is just a little way to pad the bill. Not really pleased with that. Otherwise, it was a satisfactory service.

Oil leak after routine oil change.

Wow! Where do I start? I now feel that this entire place is a SCAM. I came in to get a simple oil change. I come out with a major leak coming from the oil pan. They tell me that it was caused before I got there, probably from where I got my oil changed last time... hmm, so why was it not leaking before I came here? Manager JOSE ROSA couldn't give me a straight answer on that. Oh, but they say they will be happy to fix it for me there (Charging more than DOUBLE for each part than it actually costs at the store). He tells me on the phone that it will be $250 for the oil pan and gasket, $105 for the labor, and $36 for another oil change. Sorry sir, I just had the oil change done yesterday, which is GUARANTEED, so I shouldn't have to pay for another one! Out of the 'grace of his heart' he decides to let his strong hold go on this one and lets me go on the price of the oil change. Thanks. I also ask if I can buy the parts myself and just pay for the labor of $105. He says, "yes." Ok, so I buy the oil pan for 69.99 and the gasket for 9.49 at Auto Zone. That's a lot different than the total of $250 they quoted me at Jiffy Lube... Ok, they're done working on this very difficult job (sarcasm) and it's time for me to pick up the car, ready to pay my $105, maybe a little more with tax. I arrive and they tell me the total is $222. WHAT!? Should I have recorded you over the phone? Is that what needs to be done for them to keep their word!? I was told it would cost $105 but now they tell me it is 105 an hour and it took them 2 HOURS. HILARIOUS! This is no more than a 30 minute job, but regardless I was told 105, not 105 am HOUR! But, what can I do at this point besides pay the money. They are not going to give me back my keys until I pay what they say.... So, the only thing I am able to do is NEVER GO BACK and WRITE THIS REVIEW to WARN everyone else to BEWARE and tell you that you're best to take your business elsewhere. P.S. To be specific, this is the Harrisburg, PA Jiffy Lube on Jonestown Rd. But because of this experience, will probably not be visiting any Jiffy Lube AT ALL. If I could 0 stars, I would.

Fortunately for…read moreme, unfortunately for my kid, I knew all about these wanna-be mechanics from a few years back. Long story short - their head mechanic didn't know how to check oil properly on her Nissan crossover? (name escapes me) Three times in the shop and they tell her the oil is over full. I go in, act dumb and ask if they could show me how to check the oil since I got blamed for it anyway "your dad is over filling it" Stooge pulls dip stick and proclaims "see overfill again by twice" Me - "flip that dip stick over" Dude had no words because the other side had NOTHING on it because they drained 5 quarts the day before because "it was overfilled" I promptly asked the gentleman "if you toss a stick in a bucket of oil, is it possible to only get oil on one side of said stick?" Note: these cars/engines have an oil drain back hole directly above the dip stick which covers it with oil several inches up the stick, on one side. Even a moron knows to wipe the stick and reinstall to check and look at both sides. A not-so-certified village idiot should know these cars are best checked after they have sat awhile, regardless this poor village idiot was happy to run out 5 minutes after we arrived and check it without ever having a towel in mind. Way to go imbecile. Needless to say, it never left the place and the motor was hammering because they told her to run it and I want putting oil in it again for them to blame me for overfilling. A few days later we stopped in and find in an attempt to get the warranty co to pay for a motor, they blew it up. The one lucky actually told us what they were doing. Obviously totally oblivious to the fact he was saying they were trying to commit insurance fraud. Good luck if you go here or if, like my kid, AutoMax sends you here because their shop is backed up. These geniuses will fix your vehicle right up like Dewey, Cheatum & Howe, attorneys at law would fix you up on legal issues. Well, that statement isn't fair. The 3 stooges deserve more credit than that when it comes to being lawyers.

This is my first time using Yelp and was so stressed because my regular mechanic is my friend and he was on vacation when the brakes went out. I felt so much better when I found people who would help me . Special thanks to Charlton at C&A Automotive for making me feel at ease and gave me a great deal . It turned out to be the brake job from hell because of the poor workmanship of the last owner . An hour project turned into a 3 and a half hour nightmare. Charlton worked his ass off and kept a good attitude . We're both talkers and that helped our mental health. Lol I can't recommend to highly. You need a car repair done he's the man to get.

Charlton messaged me back within 15 minutes. I explained that my throttle dashboard light came on, and Charlton said I might need the $70.00 diagnostic test to turn it off and determine the throttle problem. Charlton also asked me about the size of my engine. I scheduled an appointment and canceled it because the throttle light went out. Perhaps it was the below-freezing temperature and my attempt to drive my vehicle without sufficiently warming it up that prompted the throttle light to come on, I will definitely contact C & A when my vehicle does need servicing. I appreciated the messaging that helped me determine what my vehicle needed. What's valuable? The excellent customer service in fielding my throttle concerns is worth noting.

Took F150 for inspection. Scott called to tell me that I needed front brakes and rotors then he says it's going to be expensive. Scott attempted to charge a 100% mark up on all parts. I asked why so expensive. Scott raises his voice and says I am trying to run a business here. Then ask what's my profession. Scott was acting very unprofessional so I asked him if I can fix myself and return for inspection. Scott agreed. I drive my f150 on average about 600 miles per year. I had two other mechanics look at my truck. Both mechanics said brakes and rotors were fine and had a lot of life left. Theses mechanics informed me of the reasons why rotors would fail an inspection. None applied here. One week later I returned without changing front brakes and rotors to get inspection. Scott asked Why I didn't change? I replied the Brakes and rotors are fine. Scott aggressively says I am not inspecting it, turns his back and walks away. I took it to another mechanic for inspection. Of course it passed inspection because nothing was needed. Scott H. wanted to mark up parts 100% and I did not even need those parts to pass inspection This was not my first bad incident at rays service center but it will certainly be my last. I would look elsewhere

I recently bought a different car and decided to use synthetic oil in it to make sure I get the most out of my beauty. My car was at 4500k miles since last oil change, I was going on a far road trip and I wanted to get my oil changed. My regular mechanic was too busy and blew me off without giving me an appt. I saw an suggestion from FB about Quick Change and decided to stop in. Walter told me that there wasn't a need to get an oil change until about 7K miles or the oil indicator was down to 10%, whichever came first. Then proceeded to pull my car in and looked at the oil. He said "see it is still clear but you could use a little more." He proceeded to top off my oil, my washer fluid, the air in my tires and checked my transmission fluid for FREE. Told me to be on my way and have a fun trip knowing my car was good to go. My regular mechanic charges $60 plus tax for synthetic, Walter said they charge $45.99 plus tax, everyday and that I was paying too much! I sure was, in many different ways. THEN! As I was leaving, a lady stopped in to check her AC that wasn't working. Walter told her that 90% of AC issues were because freon was low. Their service was $29.00 and that if the compressor didn't kick on while he was filling he would stop and it would cost her nothing. She was amazed because someone else told her she needed hundreds of dollars worth of work done to get AC. After vacation, we took my partner's car in and $29.00 and 5 minutes later we were off with AC. Stand-up integrity and customer service. Two of my favorite things. Walter just won me over. He could've taken my money but he didn't, he took a minute to educate me. I only wish they could provide total service for all of our cars. Top notch, they've earned my hard earned $! Kudos fellas!

Months later, while still within the service interval, my vehicle began displaying low-oil warnings. On July 27, I took the BMW to another Costa Oil location in Dillsburg. During that service, Costa employees told me the underside of my vehicle was covered in oil, the crush washer was missing from the drain plug, and there were metal shavings in my oil filter. I immediately told them that this Harrisburg location had performed my previous oil change. No other shop had changed my oil or removed the drain plug between those two Costa services. Despite what was found, I was instructed to continue driving and return after approximately 1,000 miles so they could check for metal again. Before I could do that, my engine developed severe knocking and became undrivable. I filed a claim with Costa and provided bank records, photos, videos, repair shop information, and a detailed timeline. Costa denied my claim because I added oil when the first low-oil warning appeared, citing a disclaimer they say was printed on my January receipt. I do not recall ever receiving that receipt, I was not verbally told about this policy, and I never signed anything acknowledging it. After my claim was denied, I personally returned to this Harrisburg location and spoke with the store manager, Robert. According to what Robert told me, the technician who serviced my vehicle in January had caused multiple issues that day and quit that same day. Robert also told me that after the problems were discovered during my July visit, I should not have been allowed to leave and continue driving the vehicle. I gave Costa an opportunity to reconsider after providing them with this additional information, but they have maintained their denial. I am extremely disappointed. I trusted Costa Oil to properly service my vehicle and, when a problem was later discovered by their own employees, I trusted the instructions they gave me. I am now without my vehicle and dealing with significant engine damage. I have filed complaints with the appropriate consumer resources and am continuing to pursue the matter. I hope Costa ultimately chooses to stand behind its work and resolve this fairly. Based on my experience and how my claim has been handled, I cannot recommend Costa Oil.
