Been a staunch Jiffy Lube customer at various locations for years. Went to Dempster&Dodge location recently because their hours are more convenient than most. What a disappointment. When given the choice of 2 oil options I clearly chose the less expensive. When I was charged for the more expensive one, I questioned the bait & switch. A repeated feeble explanation pointing at the computer moniter as proof of my "misunderstanding" led nowhere. The guy (manager?) is a horrible communicator and was completely unapologetic even for the messy interior maintenance after re-installing the cabin filter. I know that the days are gone for $24.99 oil changes that included wiper fluid fill-up, vacuuming the seats & carpet, cleaning all the windows and checking/topping off most fluids. But feeling "taken" - and - taking away all the amenities and charging so much more for mediocre service - especially while sitting in the messy, grimy & cramped waiting area is not worth the price at any cost. read more

Thorough and professional. I'm always left with what to do while I wait BUT there's a Starbucks McDonald's Nextdoor and shopping mall right across the street. Front desk can call you when they are done. Great place for busy people who wanna get in and out. Good price transparency there's a menu in the waiting room with all the services and the prices. read more

Rude unAmerican people. Today my husband blew out his transmission on the highway, and immediately exited and ended up in the closest car repair; this Midas. Unfortunately, he was leaking trans fluid faster than he could get out of the vehicle and confirm if they could offer any service. Then, the truck wouldn't start and he was stalled out there to wait for the tow truck. Meanwhile the store manager confronted him like it was a war scene three times. One would think a mechanic would understand how this situation was unfortunate, but he refused to work with my husband to find an amicable solution to cleaning transmission fluid, and there were already tons of existing stains on the driveway. He just looked under truck and asked him to ask the tow truck driver if they had anything to clean the fluid up with. My husband apologized and had nothing with him to clean it up and since the manager wouldn't work towards a resolution, it just turned into a gross reflection of how this business interacts with the general public. Not kind people you want to do business with. What kind of mechanic shop doesn't keep sawdust, sand or something to soak up oil or transmission fluid spills? read more

Today I came in for a service and paid almost $200. Before I had anything done I had specific items in my vehicle that were put away and I know for a fact was still there before I got out of my car. After my service was finish I went to grab my item and it was gone. I brought it to the managers attention that my item was taken and he asked his employees if they had taken it and they said no. I do not appreciate the fact that I came there for a service paying almost $200 just to have my things stolen from me regardless of what it is. The manager stated that he would look at the cameras but no one has reached out to me. I have gone to this location for years and never had something like this happen to me. I don't not recommend going to this location and I will not be returning because their employees have sticky fingers and don't know how to keep their hands off of other peoples property. The manager stated stated to me that he would be checking the cameras and calling me back and I have yet to receive a call. read more

If I could put 0 stars I would. Brought my car in for an oil change but more importantly to fix the leak under my glove compartment. I was told my cabin filter can be the issue so I was recommended to replace it. If that didn't resolve the issue, I would need to come back and the workers would need to go through my glove compartment because a drain somewhere can be clogged. Ok cool. Paid for the oil change and cabin filter replacement. Not even 2 minutes and my car was still leaking. I then brought it back for them to do what they said they would. After waiting for about 30 ish minutes, I was told my car was ready and if I wanted to wait 15 minutes because they are draining all the water out, then after my car would be fine and no water should be leaking out. Waited 15 min and left thinking my car would be fixed. I was told it could take some time for everything to drain out so I waited. A WHOLE week goes by and still my car was leaking on the inside of my passenger side floor. Idiot me decided to take it back to Jiffy Lube to give them another chance to fix it. I was told at this point nothing can be done for me as they recommend my AC blower to be replaced and they don't provide this service. Only a mechanic can. My entire time was wasted and not only did I pay unnecessary money that didn't even fix my problem, I was told a damn lie about needing to replace my AC blower. Took my car elsewhere and they were able to fix the problem immediately by draining the water inside my car. You guys seriously suck and love to take peoples money. DO BETTER!!!!! read more

While I remain steadfastly loyal to my regular mechanic, it's good to know that this shop is open 7 days a week. Twice over the past two months, I took my car to this Jiffy Lube location to correct issues separately affecting two tires. While the first concerned a slow-leaking tire that proved repairable, this past Sunday's involved an audibly hissing front passenger tire that rapidly leaked air the evening prior, had gone fully flat overnight, and which I had to overinflate by several psi before making the short drive over; unsurprisingly, this time, the tire required replacement. In both instances, service was cordial and prompt. In fact, due to recurrent issues affecting the tires over multiple months, as well as feeling pressed for time, I ultimately opted to have the shop replace all four. I also visited them on another occasion, for quick installation of headlight bulbs that I bought myself. While not among the cheapest options, I found their charges for material and labor to be broadly competitive; of course, we're paying for the convenience that's implied by the "Jiffy" in their name. That said, I would definitely recommend them in a pinch (e.g., a weekend tire emergency) - or when needing service in a...rush. read more

Sadly, this place got all new employees and managers, and I absolutely would not recommend it. My honda says it has 40 percent oil life, but I came in for a top off of fluids and air. Was told by very abrupt manager that I wasn't eligible for a top off (after I waited for 10 min) because my oil change is overdue. I explained that the car indicator says I am not even due yet. He laughed at me and said, "if you want to trust that, fine, but you got the wrong oil last time." Um, sir, you put the oil in. So you can't trust that the oil they use will be the right one???? For a place that's slow and does not apparently know what oil to use, they're also very rude. Stay away. read more

Martin the manager helped me out twice. Not only did I bring a fleet car to get an oil change, I brought my personal vehicle in for an oil change and Martin explained to me in detail what my vehicle needed. I was surprised to find out my rear brakes needed changed and my brake taillight was out. Thanks Martin for your detailed explanation of your inspection. I felt like I was being serviced and not treated like a number. I appreciate and thank you for your excellent customer service. We need more like you in the service force. read more

This store is not one I would recommend Oil change was great, but the customer service by Daniela N was terrible She's lying about my coupon, called the cops on me and in the end my coupon worked, and she just was being disrespectful. I have used various Jiffy Lubes all over the U.S. This location is the worst. Extremely condescending. If I could put 0 stars I would.

I brought my RAM 1500 for a Transmission oil change, and Martin from Evanston Jiffy Lube was very knowledgeable and very professional! The whole team were kind, smiled and answered questions with candor. I ended up also changing fluid in the differential, and the whole service was done in a very reasonable time and cost. As a resident of Evanston I recommend this place and will come again for service Thank you Martin and the whole team! read more

Such a horrible decision I made to go there! I originally went there to just get an inspection! One of the guy came and told me to fill out the information in the computer and then he said you also need an air filter change. I was like "oh yes I do" looking at the dirty filter! He quickly turned around and said it will be 122$ for both inspections and filter change . I was like "ohhh! Ok" but I quickly went into the office and called my dad! And told him everything! My dad said don't need to change anything else just get your inspection and get out they are charging you way too much. So I went out "not even 2 min later" and told the guy hey inspection is supposed to be about 20$ so why is it way too much he was like you will get 20% off when you pay inside. I was like still my dad says you are charging way too much .. he says to my face "you should have talked to your dad first then" such a rude man and he thinks women are weak and dumb! I just said "only the inspection please and walked out"!! I am never going there again! read more

I went to this place for the Coolant Exchange Service. When I got home, I checked the coolant, and it didn't look like it was changed at all. It still looked like the old dirty coolant. I WON'T BE GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE ANYMORE. read more

To whoever is listening, Jiffy Lube saved me today. Me, a young woman of a mere 21 years old, jumped a car. How exciting! But alas I dropped a can inside my engine. What was I to do? I ran around for a gas station nearby aind I could only find this Jiffy Lube right next to the McDonald's. I came in. Without hesitation, he takes my car. He takes it in with him. The man with a beard I forget your name I apologize but I love you and you took the can out of my car and my car will not explode now. 10/10 experience, go here for just the good vibes read more

This Jiffy Lube is great!! All the mechanics there know what they're doing and they always let you know everything that is going on with your car through out the whole process!! I'm honestly glad I chose to come here today because even though I came in half an hour before they were about to close they did not turn me away, instead they took care of my Mazda and gave me the best car service experience ever!! I highly recommend everyone to come here and see for yourself! This is a great place, they have a great staff, and above all they do not overcharge you. Their prices are very fair! read more

Have never had a bad experience here. It's my go-to HELP place. Drove in today with an almost flat tire. They discovered a nail, removed it, fixed the puncture and I was on my way in 20 minutes. For $25! Am grateful they have always been there. read more

Very friendly staff, and there was no wait for an oil change on a Saturday morning. I dread oil changes, because I really hate the up sell from techs and hearing the list of all the other things I should fix on my older Corolla. While I ended up needing a new filter and battery, I didn't feel pressured here. Small waiting room with just a few chairs, a coffee maker, and a vending machine, so bring something to keep yourself entertained. (Or plan to hit up the McDonald's next door for breakfast while you wait! Nom nom!) Update: Forgot to mention... the whole thing took less than 30 min. :) read more

Great service! Quick and fast! Last week they unclogged my windshield fluid hose for free and in 3 minutes!

One of the best jiffy lubes I've been too. The staff was knowledgable, kind, and I trusted their assessment of what services my car needed. Would recommend! read more

Terrible experience. I went in for an oil change and a tire rotation. Almost an hour later, they were getting my car ready for the rotation. When I got there, there was only one other person waiting. I have no clue why it took so long for them to start, but I had to leave without them completing the service because I had to pick up one of my kids. There's nothing Jiffy about this place. They seem more interested in selling you useless services than they do in getting you on your way. read more

I came in for a basic oil change that should have been just $40. They told me apparently there was a bunch of issues with my car like Broken license plate lights, dirty air filter, my car needing coolant, and a broken Oil drain plug. They explained that the people who did my last oil change screwed the plug on incorrectly so my oil would've been leaking, the funny thing is that Jiffy Lube lube was the ones who did my last oil change. Anyways, they said they would charge me for a oil drain plug repair. They charged me $14 for the repair when the actual part costs $2. I asked for an explanation on why I was charge $14 and they said "the cost of service" so it was $12 just for them to simply screw on a $2 dollar plug that I didn't even ask for them to repair?? I called the other location in Rodgers Park and asked how much it would cost for this repair. They quoted me $39 for both the oil and the plug repair. Yet I paid a total of $82 here. That's double the price. read more

I came in on my lunch break on a Tuesday just for an oil change and I was in and out in about 15 minutes. This is a big deal because I find that most Jiffy Lubes are becoming less and less "Jiffy." I have had to wait over an hour in some places for an oil change. I don't know if they are that efficient on Saturdays or after work hours, but I'm pleased with my experience. read more

Great service, friendly staff, responsible use of PPE. Very satisfied with the service AJ and his team provided for me today. Thanks guys!

Had a great experience at this location today. As a younger female, I've found it can be difficult to get honest, respectful treatment when dealing with traditionally male-dominated industries. I spoke with Luis (manager), Alfonso, and Jose over the course of my service and they were all extremely polite, honest, and to the point. I didn't feel that they tried to push unnecessary services. Would highly recommend these guys to anyone in the area- especially if you're less experienced/knowledgeable about car maintenance. read more

The girl who explained everything and checked me out was so helpful and friendly. She really set the tone for the whole place.

I can't say enough about how happy I am with my oil change today!!!! I rarely comment on Yelp, but couldn't wait to give some praise for the service I got today!!!! I've been to several places to have my car worked on and have felt intimidated and even bullied into spending money unnecessarily. I'm thrilled to say that was not the case today. I paid less for my oil change than I thought I would, got in quick and feel it was money well spent!!!!! Thank you Stanley, Jose, Rolando, and Luis!!! read more

Stuck in Ohio after bad oil change led to almost complete oil loss. Called Jiffy Lube, asked them to make it right. After second person told me he was the wrong person to help I gave up. Stay away from this location. It's supposed to be car maintenance, not engine endangerment. Will be paying someone else (again) for oil. read more

Would have given them 5 stars if they had actually put the oil cap back on when they were done! Drove around for 20 miles until I put the AC on and I started smelled something funny. Opened the hood and there was oil (maybe 1/2 quart) all over the engine. Luckily for me the oil cap was somehow sitting right on top of the radiator where they left it. read more

I've been to multiple different Jiffy Lube's from the city to the suburbs and this is by far the best I've ever been to. Came in for an oil change today and walking from my car to the office, every single worker said hello to me and was extremely friendly. They went above and beyond with my car and really went out of there way to tell me about my car. It was such a great experience I almost wish I had to come back again soon! :) Thanks Jiffy Lube Evanston read more

The guys here were really nice. All I needed was the signature oil change and it didn't take more than 10-15 minutes, very quick (though it wasn't busy). Also helped me out with something related to maintenance on my car that I was trying to accomplish and were great to help me out with that. Interestingly I read a bunch of old reviews while I was there that said there were issues after they left the shop because of oil caps not put back on. When they pulled my car forward for me to drive away a tool was still underneath my car and then the mechanic said he wanted to pull it back through the shop just to check to make sure everything was good (I was thinking here we go again!) No issues though and haven't had any since so all went well! read more

I brought my relatively new car in last week to see if there was a leak and to get an oil change I figured I was due for. they did a full inspection, did not find a leak and told me I have another 6000 miles before I needed an oil change and sent me on my way. (while also asking me about my last car, they remembered. so nice.) Over the weekend my tire pressure indicator light came on, so I brought it back in today, they checked and indeed all 4 tires needed some air, they took care of it in less than 5 minutes, vacuumed my floors and again, sent me on my way thanking me for being a Jiffy Lube customer. Then entire staff is friendly and helpful. It is great to know I have a place to go to I can trust to check stuff out before going to a mechanic or dealership. read more
