Today I came in for a service and paid almost $200. Before I had anything done I had specific items in my vehicle that were put away and I know for a fact was still there before I got out of my car. After my service was finish I went to grab my item and it was gone. I brought it to the managers attention that my item was taken and he asked his employees if they had taken it and they said no. I do not appreciate the fact that I came there for a service paying almost $200 just to have my things stolen from me regardless of what it is. The manager stated that he would look at the cameras but no one has reached out to me. I have gone to this location for years and never had something like this happen to me. Rude unAmerican people. Today my husband blew out his transmission on the highway, and immediately exited and ended up in the closest car repair; this Midas. Unfortunately, he was leaking trans fluid faster than he could get out of the vehicle and confirm if they could offer any service. Then, the truck wouldn't start and he was stalled out there to wait for the tow truck. Meanwhile the store manager confronted him like it was a war scene three times. One would think a mechanic would understand how this situation was unfortunate, but he refused to work with my husband to find an amicable solution to cleaning transmission fluid, and there were already tons of existing stains on the driveway. He just looked under truck and asked him to ask the tow truck driver if they had anything to clean the fluid up with. My husband apologized and had nothing with him to clean it up and since the manager wouldn't work towards a resolution, it just turned into a gross reflection of how this business interacts with the general public. If I could put 0 stars I would. Brought my car in for an oil change but more importantly to fix the leak under my glove compartment. I was told my cabin filter can be the issue so I was recommended to replace it. If that didn't resolve the issue, I would need to come back and the workers would need to go through my glove compartment because a drain somewhere can be clogged. Ok cool. Paid for the oil change and cabin filter replacement. Not even 2 minutes and my car was still leaking. I then brought it back for them to do what they said they would. After waiting for about 30 ish minutes, I was told my car was ready and if I wanted to wait 15 minutes because they are draining all the water out, then after my car would be fine and no water should be leaking out. Waited 15 min and left thinking my car would be fixed. I was told it could take some time for everything to drain out so I waited. A WHOLE week goes by and still my car was leaking on the inside of my passenger side floor. Idiot me decided to take it back to Jiffy Lube to give them another chance to fix it. I was told at this point nothing can be done for me as they recommend my AC blower to be replaced and they don't provide this service. Only a mechanic can. My entire time was wasted and not only did I pay unnecessary money that didn't even fix my problem, I was told a damn lie about needing to replace my AC blower. Took my car elsewhere and they were able to fix the problem immediately by draining the water inside my car. You guys seriously suck and love to take peoples money. DO BETTER!!!!! read more

While I remain steadfastly loyal to my regular mechanic, it's good to know that this shop is open 7 days a week. Twice over the past two months, I took my car to this Jiffy Lube location to correct issues separately affecting two tires. While the first concerned a slow-leaking tire that proved repairable, this past Sunday's involved an audibly hissing front passenger tire that rapidly leaked air the evening prior, had gone fully flat overnight, and which I had to overinflate by several psi before making the short drive over; unsurprisingly, this time, the tire required replacement. In both instances, service was cordial and prompt. In fact, due to recurrent issues affecting the tires over multiple months, as well as feeling pressed for time, I ultimately opted to have the shop replace all four. I also visited them on another occasion, for quick installation of headlight bulbs that I bought myself. While not among the cheapest options, I found their charges for material and labor to be broadly competitive; of course, we're paying for the convenience that's implied by the "Jiffy" in their name. That said, I would definitely recommend them in a pinch (e.g., a weekend tire emergency) - or when needing service in a...rush. read more

Sadly, this place got all new employees and managers, and I absolutely would not recommend it. My honda says it has 40 percent oil life, but I came in for a top off of fluids and air. Was told by very abrupt manager that I wasn't eligible for a top off (after I waited for 10 min) because my oil change is overdue. I explained that the car indicator says I am not even due yet. He laughed at me and said, "if you want to trust that, fine, but you got the wrong oil last time." Um, sir, you put the oil in. So you can't trust that the oil they use will be the right one???? Such a horrible decision I made to go there! I originally went there to just get an inspection! One of the guy came and told me to fill out the information in the computer and then he said you also need an air filter change. I was like "oh yes I do" looking at the dirty filter! He quickly turned around and said it will be 122$ for both inspections and filter change . I was like "ohhh! Ok" but I quickly went into the office and called my dad! And told him everything! My dad said don't need to change anything else just get your inspection and get out they are charging you way too much. So I went out "not even 2 min later" and told the guy hey inspection is supposed to be about 20$ so why is it way too much he was like you will get 20% off when you pay inside. I was like still my dad says you are charging way too much .. he says to my face "you should have talked to your dad first then" such a rude man and he thinks women are weak and dumb! I dread oil changes, because I really hate the up sell from techs and hearing the list of all the other things I should fix on my older Corolla. While I ended up needing a new filter and battery, I didn't feel pressured here. Small waiting room with just a few chairs, a coffee maker, and a vending machine, so bring something to keep yourself entertained. I came in for a basic oil change that should have been just $40. They told me apparently there was a bunch of issues with my car like Broken license plate lights, dirty air filter, my car needing coolant, and a broken Oil drain plug. They explained that the people who did my last oil change screwed the plug on incorrectly so my oil would've been leaking, the funny thing is that Jiffy Lube lube was the ones who did my last oil change. Anyways, they said they would charge me for a oil drain plug repair. They charged me $14 for the repair when the actual part costs $2. I asked for an explanation on why I was charge $14 and they said "the cost of service" so it was $12 just for them to simply screw on a $2 dollar plug that I didn't even ask for them to repair?? I called the other location in Rodgers Park and asked how much it would cost for this repair. They quoted me $39 for both the oil and the plug repair. Yet I paid a total of $82 here. I came in on my lunch break on a Tuesday just for an oil change and I was in and out in about 15 minutes. This is a big deal because I find that most Jiffy Lubes are becoming less and less "Jiffy." I brought my relatively new car in last week to see if there was a leak and to get an oil change I figured I was due for. they did a full inspection, did not find a leak and told me I have another 6000 miles before I needed an oil change and sent me on my way. (while also asking me about my last car, they remembered. so nice.) Over the weekend my tire pressure indicator light came on, so I brought it back in today, they checked and indeed all 4 tires needed some air, they took care of it in less than 5 minutes, vacuumed my floors and again, sent me on my way thanking me for being a Jiffy Lube customer. Then entire staff is friendly and helpful. It is great to know I have a place to go to I can trust to check stuff out before going to a mechanic or dealership. read more

The Technicians seem very unconcerned when you ask a question and are VERY sloppy with their work. Went in for a random oil change and the first thing they want to do is up-sell you on all kinds of shit like filters, motor flushes, gearbox fluid, brake lights and everything else imaginable, yes, the proverbial guilt trip attempt. Well, I'm not the one. Change my fucking oil for $40 buck and also, here's an $8.00 coupon. Yes, that's right, you're only making $32.00 bucks off me. My service also included a vacuum of the floor, but look at this picture I'm posting, does that look like it was vacuumed? I literally sat there and WITNESSED the guy slap air in my tires quickly, not even checking how much air had been placed in, he was like squirt squirt squirt, I'm done! The manager Bryan is an interesting guy, somewhat rude and not very engaging at all, I'll leave it at that. They are just sloppy and unprofessional here, I don't like them and I will now just print out my Firestone copying and go there. My hoods latch was broken I noticed and that was the capper for me. Also helped me out with something related to maintenance on my car that I was trying to accomplish and were great to help me out with that. Interestingly I read a bunch of old reviews while I was there that said there were issues after they left the shop because of oil caps not put back on. When they pulled my car forward for me to drive away a tool was still underneath my car and then the mechanic said he wanted to pull it back through the shop just to check to make sure everything was good (I was thinking here we go again!)
