At the time, it had about…read more160,000 miles and had been well cared-for, but was giving me trouble - not shifting properly, sporadic hard-upshifts, stalling the engine when Reverse was selected. This had been happening off & on for several years. Pete's initial diagnosis was "new pump and torque converter", but went on to recommend a full rebuild. I'm not sure what else that entailed (new solenoids, valve body, seals?) as it wasn't really explained, but I gave them permission to perform the extra work since the transmission would need to be removed in either case. The work was finished later than they anticipated - by several days, actually -but this wasn't a problem for me since I had alternate transportation. I've only driven about 1,500 miles since then, but the transmission has been nearly flawless. All of the forementioned problems were resolved by the full rebuild except for the sporadic hard up-shifts. Since I don't drive the truck very often, I called Pete's when it happened again. They didn't seem that concerned and suggested I bring it back for further diagnosis, without offering a reason what might be causing it. I've since learned that this symptom could be an issue with the PSOM in the dashboard, according to Ford owner websites on the internet. Restarting the engine clears the problem for the time being. Overall, I would give Pete's a 4.5 out of 5 stars. I've found them to be very approachable, have been in business a long time, and most importantly - they do very good work. All I would suggest is that you build-in some extra time in your schedule for them to finish.

I had a tune up there cost me nearly $600 didn't change 1 coil!!! Months after I had them replace my water pump which cost me just under $500 they failed to put my timing belt on correctly and since I knew nothing about cars, they allowed me to leave their shop with a crazy ticking noise as if I had a Diesel engine and I made sure to bring it to their attention that's not a sound I ever heard prior to bring it in. They insisted that I take it to who did my oil change?!!! Days go by I'm on my way home from work and boom! Long story short I ended up having to get a new engine because they failed to pay attention to detail. Cost me $3,000.00!!!!! Joe (the mechanic) insisted he would never let me leave with an unsafe vehicle because he knew I had children. Thanks for nothing.

Earlier this week, my vehicle was struck by a delivery van and declared a total loss by the insurance company. The initial valuation was low but I put a lot of work into my car this past year. I didn't keep any of my receipts but fortunately Lou does! He was able to make copies of all receipt documentation for the work that he did on my car so that I could show the insurance company. Awesome customer service!

    DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!…read more On 10/3/25, my husband paid Lee Wiles / Common Vision LLC $1,020 (plus a $281 tip) for axle and brake repair. Less than 24 hours later, the car broke down in a dangerous way. AAA confirmed the repair was unsafe and improperly done, and another certified mechanic verified this. The axle came out and nearly caused a serious accident. When I contacted him, instead of refunding the payment, he admitted in text messages that "the axle came out" but refused to return the money. He also tried to deflect responsibility by making inappropriate comments about race and insisted on "fixing" it again -- despite my clear statements that I no longer trusted him after such unsafe work. I have full documentation: receipt, CashApp payment, AAA confirmation, mechanic statement, and text messages from his phone. This needs to be on record to prevent him from scamming and endangering others. He is also not listed with the BBB as a registered business -- but I have filed a complaint so there will now be a record. If he scammed you too, REPORT HIM. Businesses that operate this way do not last. Add On: It's not harassment to ask for my money back after a repair failed in less than 24 hours and almost caused an accident. AAA confirmed the axle came out because of improper work, and a certified mechanic verified this. I provided proof: receipt, CashApp payment, and text messages where Mr. Wiles himself admitted "the axle came out." I found him here on Yelp and hired him for a PPI to look at a 2003 Tiburon. A family member is an enthusiast for these old cars which they wanted to make into a "hot hatch". I met Lee at the dealer, which was a long drive to the dealer for both of us. And of course the car was in a back lot 3 or 4 rows deep. So while waiting for the dealer to find the car and bring it to the front, Lee noticed some teenagers who were there to look at a Civic SI. One of them was checking for rust by knocking his knuckles on the car body. Lee smiled at this and went over to chat with them and before you know it, he was reviewing the car with them, explaining how you really check for rust, opened the hood and began digging into how to tell if this Civic was running well or not. He looks underneath the car by getting on the ground and actually looking. I noticed all the other guys, both the dealer guys and the buyers, were hesitant to do this. I think they were intimidated because he obviously knew much more about engines than they did. I was impressed that Lee has the instincts of an educator. He really wants to not just evaluate the car but to teach others how to examine a car. Eventually the Tiburon appears and then Lee quickly went through his process. He focuses on the engine and doesn't move on from that until all issues are covered. In this case, he zeroed in immediately on the coolant system. It wasn't holding pressure. I watched as he carefully tested and retested and showed the dealer technician that the system was bad and that it was leaking. We had already been there for an hour and a half so it was decided that the dealer would pull a hose from another car ( the dealer was close to a salvage yard) and repair it and then Lee would return to test it again. In the end, even the dealer gave up on this car, he didn't complete any repair and we moved on. But I will have Lee examine any car we are considering. He is an excellent mechanic, fair and honest.
