Meghan (the owner) is an artist who has been trained by the artist that owns The Art Academy in Hillsborough Township. Meghan's academy is actually a little over a year old and I couldn't find her yet on yelp, so I am putting my review here and hope that's ok. I am an oil painter, and came to The Art Academy in Chester through a referral to Chester school. I have a strong set of skills in oil painting, and have begun to sell my work. I came to Meghan because I wanted to strengthen my foundational skills in the realistic painting style. Meghan is absolutely the strongest and best teacher I have ever had. She has classes for children, adolescents and adults, at all levels. She is so talented in teaching the fundamentals of painting and it has most definitely strengthened my skills, just as I had wanted. She is a master at working with children and adolescents meeting the individual student at their current level, providing a strong education and support in a manner where I've seen children and adolescents blossom into really excellent oil painters. She focuses on teaching values, and color, which are two very important keystones in being able to paint well. She is an absolute gem. As an adult painter, I find her lessons to be critically important and I have seen a great change for the better in my work. If you are looking for an art school that is both wonderfully supportive and highly educational, this is THE place.

Finding the frame, borders, and accents, as with all framable art, will make significant changes in how it presents. My husband and I went to four different businesses and of those, I felt that Frames Plus was a stand out!!! I am no artist, but Eileen truly is! However, she did not take over and make our Ketubah over in her own tastes, but rather, She listened and guided us to see how different frames, borders, and colors will represent our tastes. Eileen explained the differences in the options without confusing us with pushing what was expensive but not needed or wanted for our Ketubah. As a matter of fact, Eileen's invoice showed a price which was lower than a big box art store and still was more us than the boutique stores envisioned. I am enclosing a picture of our Ketubah to show how proud we are of this beautiful and tasteful piece which will be a treasured addition to our home.

She's an extremely easy person to work with, and was especially gracious when I came to pick up my project, because when I went to pay with my check, I had no more checks in my checkbook, which never happens. Marsha said I could take what she did back home, and drop off the check to her later in the week. I wasn't going to do that, of course. I only live a few minutes away, picked up my checks, and returned with her payment. But obviously, there are very few people out there who would do something like that, which I definitely appreciated.

When she came to meet us, we showed her our invitations and she offered to match our addressing text to the font on the invitations. The cards came out beautifully - people went out of their way to tell us the invitations were the nicest they'd ever received. We also used Bella Scrittura for placecard calligraphy. When we had last-minute additions to the guest list, Therese was able to get the last few placecards to us on time to deliver them to the venue. For each calligraphy project, she sent us proofs to approve before she went ahead with the rest. She was careful to double-check the names on guest lists before putting ink down on the final products. Helpful, friendly, responsive, fast and talented - can't recommend enough!
