We didn't realize the class schedule started earlier here, so unfortunately we missed her class. Even so, Coach Ian was kind enough to let my daughter join in with his daughter's training since we were already there. Coach Ian and the whole team were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable right away. Even though it was only a quick 15-minute introduction, my daughter had an absolute blast! Coach Ian made the class fun and engaging, and it was great to see his wife join in the training as well. I've personally attended other of Tony Nunez' schools from northern California and the training I received is unmatched. I know for a fact that Tony has trained with plenty of MMA fighters, he has sent a few to professional rings. One in particular I recall is Catharine Linderman, whom became a phenomenal fighter. I only do know that Tony Nunez was a golden globe champion in the 80's.

This has only been possible because of the instructors who teach the classes, the facility/equipment, and the sense camaraderie that is built between instructors and students. Since day one, the instructors have pushed and supported me. I constantly get advice on my technique, how to apply that technique, ways in which I can be more healthy outside of my training, and just overall holistic support. Most recently I entered in a BJJ tournament, and on the days/weeks leading up to that tournament every instructor gave be constant advice and support. The facility is amazing. There are machines for everything, and tools for all forms of recovery. Everything looks extremely professional, and the entire building is well kept. Before and after training I like to use the machines/tools they have for stretching. I have found these to be extremely beneficial, and have been able to minimize what I purchase for home because there is so much accessible at the gym. Finally I have to mention further the culture and sense of camaraderie at the gym. EVERY SINGLE person who trains at Ronin (instructors and students) have been so helpful since I first joined. I eventually realized that I have been able to commit to almost four years thus far because of this. There is always this feeling of "if I improve or if they improve, we ALL improve." If you are looking for a gym to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, to work on your self-defense skills, or just a place that will help you on your journey to better health, Ronin Jiu-Jitsu is DEFINITELY the place.

He picked this school to train at! It was the atmosphere. The kids class are awesome! There are games involve, drills and friendly little competitions that kept kids very attentive (which is extremely difficult to do for 4,5,6 year olds). This gym is very clean and easy to get to (just west of I-5 freeway off of Hammer Lane). The classes are laid back and offers a very chill and stress free environment. I love that they play lots of 80's and reggae music in the background during classes. Tim and Stella are fantastic instructors! I liked so much for my son that I started training here too once I saw my son was getting after it! Honestly, I was apprehensive at first because I had a couple reasons: 1:I had an old neck injury and was scared of aggravating it, but I have not because everyone I roll with is super cool and respectful about my condition. 2: I train at another martial arts school; Tim and Stella are totally cool with it because they know I'm just trying to become a better martial artist. Everyone here is super cool and easy going. The instruction is first class. I had came from another Jiujitsu school and had to adjust to an entirely new way of thinking, analyzing my game and strategies (10th Planet is on another level). It was great starting over again and being humbled. One thing about training Jiu-Jitsu, it puts your ego in check pretty quickly! If you wanna train with ego, the mats quickly adjusts that issue. Come in with an open mind and an attitude of ready to learn. Learning Jiu-Jitsu is one the best empty handed skills one can learn to effectively have self defense skills. They gi and no gi classes.

We didn't plan on staying long but my daughter loves it and has made some really good friends along the way. My son has now also joined the party and both kiddos love their coaches. They are learning life skills to protect themselves. We've referred quite a few friends and all that have joined have said their kiddos love it. I like how I am able to cater my schedule based on my kiddos other extracurricular activities unlike other places that have limited schedules. The flexibility for me as a parent is a number one factor on where I take my kids. If you are interested in having your kiddos learn self defense skills go give Gracie's a try. The class vibe is really casual, everyone is joking around, but when it comes to judo we take it very seriously. The class is run by two black belts, although there could be only one black belt on a given day. Class size is extremely small, but it helps because you get more attention. This club shares the same space as Ronin Jiu-Jitsu. There's both a kids class and an adults class. Class rates are very reasonable. EDIT- The kids class is fairly large (more than 10 kids). The adults class is small (about 4-5 adults)
