I have been going to benchwork for years my husband would always bring my watches and rings there…read moreso after he passed away I continued going there and I wouldn't bring my jewelry to anyone else I brought a watch that was for my husband that he received when he was playing football at McNeese University and this watch was over forty years old, it was dirty and it wasn't working so l brought it to Chris and explained to him that this watch was for my husband and that he had passed away and I wanted to give this to our son who is a jr and looks, walks, talks just like his daddy and as my eyes filled with tears he knew just what that watch meant to me. He said he couldn't make any promises to me and explained what work it needed but that he would do his best. He called me a week later, which is a long time for Chris and when I looked at the watch I cried again. It looked so good all clean and polished and working. He said he didn't know how long it would work but he did his best. It was still working months later when I gave it to my son and I wish Chris could have seen his face. He gave us what money couldn't buy, he gave us a little piece of my Fred that my son can touch and for that we are eternally grateful. Once my boyfriend and I got serious, I did extensive research to find a REAL jeweler with real genuine kind human beings, rather than corporate run robots. I sent him their website and we finally got to stop in today to get an idea of what I wanted for an Engagement ring. I had some ideas of what I wanted because I looked at their instagram beforehand but it was more of a feeling than a physical idea. We ended up spending over an hour discussing with the amazing, patient, classy, and knowledgeable, Sue. I was genuinely blown away with her professionalism. I have felt like a bull in a china shop my entire life. She made sure I felt like I had every right to be there. She pulled multiple options out of the case for me to try on, and let me take photos to send to my family. They live across the country so it was important to me that I got to share photos with my mom. As soon as Sue understood the general vibe I was interested in, she took it upon herself to recommend the most JAW DROPPING pieces. I more than likely would not have seen them on my own. Two of the many pieces she recommended ended up in my final three. I am extremely grateful for her being there to give me her input. We were able go build my dream stack with my drop dead gorgeous future engagement ring as the centerpiece. She made sure I was sized properly, and also took great care of my boyfriend. She took the time to help him find exactly what he wanted, and have him sized as well. We didn't feel rushed or pressured at all and really enjoyed the experience. I cannot wait to buy all of my future jewelry from Sue at Lustre Fine Jewelers and I recommend that everyone do the same!
