My dress arrived in the wrong color and it was too late to order a new dress. Ultimately they offered me the sample gown that I tried on six months earlier. It wasn't in the best shape and had a huge hole in the train. We had to cut the train off. They rushed the alterations. I received my dress with a jagged, uneven hem, a missing back hook, and a bust adjustment that was done through the back zipper even though it was measured and pinned by the side seams. Thankfully I found an amazing seamstress who could fix the mess but it cost another $450. I tried multiple times to talk to someone at the store about the service, but the owner never called me back. We hoped to support a local business, but sadly this experience caused serious stress and became much more expensive than promised.

Most businesses see customers as walking dollar signs and will do anything, and say anything, to keep you from taking your business somewhere else. The motto of Mary Ellen's is "To run a successful business is based entirely on the quality of the business's customer service." When you enter Mary Ellen's, someone will walk up to you and greet you, sometimes meeting you at the door. Randy and Kevin make it a point to talk to you, find out where you're from, and if you're a regular, how you and your family are doing. Once you go to Mary Ellen's for a tuxedo, that's the only place you'll ever go. They make you feel like you're a part of their family. You are their customer and they want to keep that relationship with you always. Having been an employee at Mary Ellen's, I think people should know how hard Randy and Kevin work for your business. During Mardi Gras season, Randy and Kevin arrive at work hours before the shop is actually open to start cleaning and pressing tuxedos. They dry clean their own product right there in the store! When the store closes at 5:30pm, it's a quick dash home for all employees and then back to work, sometimes staying past 11pm at night to get garments cleaned and start pulling orders for the coming weekend. This is the regular Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday routine for these guys. On busier weeks, all employees forfeit their only day off, Sunday, to get a jump on the demanding week. This is just a small glimpse into how hard the Mary Ellen's crew works for their customers, and you can rest assured that this service will always be this consistently extraordinary.

For the first prom, they tried to fit him from the shelf, but the pants were so tight, he had to keep his jacket on all night because they wouldn't zip!!!!! The second tux should have arrived on 4/9, but when we checked the receipt the fitting date was input as 7/9...... NEVER EVER AGAIN will we patronize here!!!!!!
