I recently went to Jewel in New Lenox after Walmart cancelled my cake order at pick-up. Jewel had a great selection of ready make cakes and cupcakes. I had my hands full on the way to my car with the baked goods and my toddler. It was freezing outside. Tammy (an employee) stopped what she was doing to help me. Stopped at the Nelson's jewels to buy a fruit tray at 9:40 today. Not a single fruit tray available. One of the associates apologized and said they were ​short staffed. I told him that was no excuse and to let the manager know that it was very disappointing And I was going to Meiers​ instead. I worked retail for 14 years. If your short staffed, managers should be rolling up their sleeves and helping and whatever way they can.... So you don't lose customers. read more

I cannot tell you how much I hate the Jewel app. Trying to juggle your phone, push a cart and, and making sure at checkout that all the sale prices were recognized. Completely out of rotisserie chickens at 3pm on a Saturday. Deli employees all standing around talking and ignoring customers. Gave me the wrong item after they finally decided to help customers. Asked a manager for help. They were more inept than the deli workers. No apologies, just rudeness. There are so many stores in this area to shop at and I will not be back. I wouldn't be surprised if this store eventually gets shut down for sales. Your employees are helping your sales tank by being rude and intentionally doing their jobs wrong. read more

Use to be a good store. Shelves are empty, always out of sale items, can never find a store employee on the floor, and produce is the worst. I have been going to this store since the day it opened I am going to the one in Mokena, clean store all the shelves are full an they always have the sale item in stock. What the heck happened to customer service? I stood at the deli counter for 15 minutes while one employee worked and two others washed dishes and ignored customers. NEVER COMING HERE again! I have been coming here since I moved to the area, today I forgot my ID and scattered to find a copy. The manager refused to sell me the beer which was an anniversary gift for my hubby. Was super rude about it, I felt discriminated because she didn't check ID for the people in front of me buying liquor that were white. If she was so concerned about ID she should ID everyone. I had some errands to do and I forgot that my little brother asked for some cupcakes and my mom asked me to buy some bread before going to work. Luckily I am near Jewel Osco and I heard that they have bread and stuff here; I've been once here but I never noticed their bread. Their staff greets me with a warm and welcoming smile which makes me feel comfortable. I asked where the section of bread was and she gladly assisted me. They have a bunch of selections for you to choose from; cakes, cookies and bakery snacks, buns and rolls, desserts and cheesecakes, baguettes and French bread they even have pitas and flatbreads and lastly they have what I came here for the cupcakes. I bought some cupcake buttercream and their ice cream cake for my little brother and some King's Hawaiian Original slices for my mom. They both asked me to buy more next time. read more

I went to the deli in the morning. There was a crabby old lady with red hair slicing meat. She yelled at my daughter for no reason. Then she did NOT slice the meat even close to what I asked for! This Jewel has a ton of gluten free items! I was visiting family and this is my usual go to when I need to stock up on some GF items for my stay. I'm thoroughly impressed with their selection. The store is clean, organized, and well stocked. read more

Given that this was one of the very few places one could buy produce without having to go to Joliet or Mokena, it was okay. The produce was not super fresh & it was rather pricy (not to mention that their variety was scarce). They did have a few good sales of meat from time to time but I'm rather glad that they've built up in this burb & added a few more places to shop for decent fruits & veggies at cost. I used to have to go to Pete's Markets in Chicago on my regular workdays & carry bags daily on the Metra just to get my fresh produce while living in New Lenox. read more

My go to grocery! I've never had a single issue with freshness of their seafood or steak. Staff is always pleasant and willing to help, what more can you ask for? Staff was nice, however, on a pretty consistant basis produce is below average, AT BEST! The onions are always soggy, and the peepers are ALWAYS shriveled up. I would throw them out if they looked the way on the shelves in my house. read more

Have been there several times and gave up on the Deli because the employees were either too busy slicing for the window with me and one other customer waiting for service or no one is there at all. I came in the other day to pick up some stuff for my boyfriend on the way home after visiting a friend in the hospital nearby. I love how clean the store is and how it's not bombarded by loud and ignorant hoodrats. The parking lot is clean and not overrun with gangs of nasty sea gulls shitting all over cars and flying everywhere. I was happy to come in get my stuff and get checked out quickly and the customers as well as staff are pretty friendly. You can't go wrong here one improvement they can do is put self check out machines for those who have less than 20 items who need to check out quickly. If I am in WIll County this will be where I come to shop for food and anything else needed. I made it clear to those around me I don't like shopping in the city due to the high number of ghetto scum that proliferate and bring down the store's value. I prefer shopping in the suburbs anyway because many of the places I go to their locations are much more cleaner and seem to stay well stocked. Not to mention you're also not being harassed by bums, winos, and homeless people begging for change. It's nice to just shop without the foolery. read more

After shopping I saw crushed glass in a parking space. Perhaps a bottle that had been ground to pieces under a car. I went back in and reported it. The customer service lady, Barb, said she would "not take any chances" and would get someone to take care of it "right away." Before I even left, a man was out with a broom. It was a manager, Greg, and I complimented him on the quick service. He actually apologized for taking so long (he had been in the back of the store). Worst store ever. Has been like this for awhile. None of the employees want to work!!! Went there the other day to do my grocery shopping at 6:30-7:00pm. I went to the deli my husband took my daughter to the bakery for a cookie and the lazy women told my husband they were out! Really a bakery out of cookies! I was the only customer standing at the deli while 4 employees were behind the counter doing stuff and not one acknowledged me. When my husband told me what happened I told him to wait at the deli I'm going to talk to a manager. While he was still waiting an employee finally stopped what they were doing to wait on a customer but they took care of the person that came after us. Much like the local Wal-mart, I spend as much if not more time in line than I do shopping. They thankfully got rid of those auto-checkout machines. If your going to pay Jewel prices, you should be checked out by Jewel employees, not some machine they don't have to pay and you can't ask questions if you have any issues. read more
