Les jeux d'hiver is widely considered in Brussels as a very select and exclusive night club. And on that point, I have to agree. First time I came here I found the location magical. Truly exceptional, set in a clearing of the Bois de la Cambre, the building is split into various spaces which helps to spread the people on very busy nights and that way it never feels too crowded. Some of the walls to the outside are glass walls with lighting in the forrest which also helps to create a somewhat surreal "inside/outside" feeling to the place.
So architecture and decor wise nothing to say... Love it.
The crowd: From 18 to 55, well dressed, preppy, elegant, or one could use the word posh. As the night advances the booze can contribute to certain ladies and gentlemen being a little less ladylike and gentlike in their behaviour :-) Now to be able to witness the crowd inside, I highly recommend to adhere to the dress code, the gentlemen at the entrance enjoy the filtering process and are extremly selective for girls and boys alike.
Music: no comment, , it is commercial music and it seems to satisfy the crowd, now if you are a very picky clubber/music expert there are certainly other clubs in BXL that will suit you better.
Last bu not least, the restaurant. It's a nifty way to guarantee access to the club when it opens :-) 'Cause when your in... your in. On a warm summer day the terrace is fabulous and for a rainy day inside the restaurant is very loungy and to my taste a little too dark. The food is nice and well prepared, but as there is one price for the appetizers and one for the main courses the value for money can differ strongly from one dish to the next (eg: chicken curry at the same price as seared tuna :-S ). read more
