Don't let the studio-sized gym fool you! BJ and the girls are an excellent team and will continually push you progressively harder in order to help you achieve your fitness and/or weight loss goals. The gym is open between 5am and 10pm every day including holidays, so there's always an opportunity to squeeze in a quick gym sesh before a day is done. The gym is well equipped with all you'd need to achieve a variety of workouts, and the girls are always introducing new equipment or new ways to use existing equipment which keeps things exciting. A membership with Envie will typically gain you access to all Envie gyms, group exercise classes, program generation and re-assessment every four weeks, with no lock-in contract. There are also opportunities to participate in "challenges" which are guaranteed to improve your fitness (provided you put in the hard yards). Aside from the knowledge and experience each of the trainers bring, they're also absolutely lovely women. The same can be said about the members of the gym. Everybody is so supportive of one another which definitely helps when you're trying to squeeze in that last rep before the minute is over. If you're new to the area and looking to join a new gym, you really can't go past Envie Berwick. The gym has an incredibly positive atmosphere, and can seem like a place of socialising at times (especially during Ang's Friday night boxing class). Wade loves her and he loves all the different activities that she has in store for him. We've even been able to take some of those activities and incorporate them at home! Prices are reasonable with you paying fortnightly or upfront and having unlimited access to the pools with a swimming membership. Wade gets his lesson and one of us as his parents get in for free as well right up until he's 3! I recommend here every time someone asks about swimming lessons and even though the main reason we came here to begin with was the location and that it was close to home we definitely couldn't have picked a better place. They have a little cafe that you can buy food from and I must admit the food is great, especially their slices! There's food there for everyone. But anyway, aside from the semantics of the gym concept, Genesis is good, as gyms go. It has a HEAP of cardio machines, a massive weight room, multiple rooms for gym classes and, my fave, a lady's only room upstairs. Like all gyms, the staff here will try to coerce you into signing a 12 month contract, but my advice is stick to your guns and bargain the bejesus out of them until they agree to waive your joining fee and give you flexible, no long-term contract membership. (Yeh, I'm a gym whore). The personal trainers here are good and in terms of its location, its super central and the best gym you will find in the area.

Upon getting another member to let me in, I was almost tackled to the ground by an arrogant "hey i've just completed an online PT course, so I'm hot sh*t" female staff member. After explaining I had a pass, she just grunts "err ok", without smiling, without welcoming me to the club, without showing me around. I believe customer service makes or breaks a business, and this place lacks it big time. The equipment isn't fantastic for serious athletes, and is littered with functional trainers/generic pulley machines that look like they were chosen because they didn't know what to get. Has a fair amount of cardio equipment. Would only suggest you go to this place if you have a membership for the swimming pool downstairs (their main business).
