This was the worst Airbnb stay I've ever had. The photos are accurate, but when you get there you'll realize how cheaply put together this house is. There was nothing comforting about this house and the hosts are trying to do this on the cheap. Very overpriced place.
If you're looking for a place for 10 guys to have a bachelor party or spring break trip, then this might be good. They advertise this as a place for families and young kids, but don't even have a bathtub.
The AC was not that good and even with it running for a long time there was still a lack of airflow in the house and the air felt still and sticky.
The beds were not very comfortable. They have these big foam pads on them that make it so you sink in and cannot roll or move. This only accentuated the fact that the AC did not work very well.
The pool was cold. We followed their instructions to turn it on and left if for over a day and it was still cold. They came over and said it was warm, even though it was not any warmer than when we were there. Living in a cold climate I can assure you I know what the difference between a heated pool and an unheated one is. They do have a heater, but it does not actually heat up the water. Do not come here expecting to have a good time.
When we arrived, we noticed a few things that immediately put us on edge. Ants were crawling all over the wall in the kitchen, partially empty food containers were left open, such as a bag of old coffee grounds, and there was clearly a poor cleaning job done as we noticed trash in the desk and the trash bags did not fit the trash can. The hot water kettle had a nasty brown sludge in the bottom of it. I ended up microwaving mugs to heat water up for tea.
They had nice-looking appliances (oven, stove, microwave, etc.), but no cookie sheet or other oven pans to actually use the oven. We ended up heating up leftovers in the oven by just putting the food directly on the rack.
The lights were all very harsh cool white. Such an easy way to make a home feel more comfortable but they went with cheaper options.
No places to put luggage in the bedrooms. The lack of outlets in the bedroom meant we had to move the bed and tables around so we could charge our phones.
The bedside lamps are touch sensitive, which is cool and neat, but they are poor quality. They would turn on in the middle of the night unless we took everything off of the bedside table and had everything (glasses, phone, watch, etc) on the floor.
Lack of carpets made the place feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
Don't be swooned by the pool table. If you're used to playing on good pool tables this will leave you disappointed.
Kitchen table and chairs were cheap and made you feel like you were going to break them when you leaned back.
The AC makes a periodic rattling noise that sounds like a woodpecker is in the room. The noise goes away of you press your hand on it to stop the vibration, but then it comes back within an hour.
We contacted them right away when we arrived inquiring about the ants, dirty desk, and washing machine/drier. We also complained to them about the loud AC and offered to send them a video of the AC to prove the noise to them, but they did not acknowledge it. They were quick to respond and came over early the next morning to clean. They did take care of the ants. They gave us some cheap chocolate, which was super old and oxidizing (a tell-tell sign of old chocolate). They said they did not hear the AC and completely ignored us.
The pool was extremely cold and when we asked them about the heated pool (which they promised us would be there in a direct message) they gave us instructions to turn it on and we followed them. The pool did not get warmer even after more than 24 hours. They refused to acknowledge the issue and refused to a negotiate a partial refund. Airbnb refused to intervene because the host had promised my spouse in a direct message and not me.
We thought we might be able to use the pool during the day when it was warm and sunny, but the backyard neighbors were blasting music and telenovelas. This is not a place to relax and unwind.
This host is not someone named 'Andy' or 'Andriy', but rather a company with multiple properties. We got massaged by someone named Francisco. They also tried to call us directly multiple times to avoid putting messages on Airbnb's platform. This was not a trustworthy host.
The house has security cameras on the outside because it's in a neighborhood that isn't very nice. Cars would drive up and down the road at night with their loud engines and making it hard to sleep. On Saturday night there was a party presumably several blocks away and was very loud. It took us several hours to fall asleep just due to the noise. As we were leaving, the neighbor across the street was screaming at a dog and chasing it off of their yard with a broom. read more
