I reached out to a few companies when my friend, Cindy,…read morewas turned away from her flight to Hong Kong because she hadn't followed the proper procedures to travel with her two dogs (she had been living in LA but was moving home to HK). Cindy had given up her home, given away or shipped her possessions, had no family in Los Angeles, and is legally blind - all combining to make it a dire situation. While the other companies were slow to respond (or replied by automated emails), Alicia from Pet Express called me as soon as she saw my emails, realizing that this was a critically timed situation and she really just jumped in. Her guidance was remarkable. Cindy was in a hotel, and with her visual disability, dealing with the forms and process was a challenge, but Alicia and her team patiently walked us through every step. And we made it all the more challenging since I started the process but then was traveling, so THREE other friends of Cindy's all jumped in to help out - adding to the communication chain. But again, Alicia and her team dealt with every challenge and kept us all in the loop. They worked effectively with Cindy's vet to get all of the forms, measurements, breed info and so much more to make the process go smoothly. And while other companies said it could take 2-3 months (or longer), and many charged more than DOUBLE what Pet Express did, they expedited the process (at no extra change) and Cindy and her dogs were on a flight to Hong Kong in less than a month! And this could have been an incredibly stressful situation for Cindy and her dogs - but Pet Express assured it was stress-free! And the care of the dogs was always of paramount importance to them. They worked with us to be sure they were well-cared for, comfortable, and that their medical needs were also attended to (one is on meds). They made the drop-off process so easy. Cindy felt do comfortable leaving her "babies" in their care. And the delivery to her apartment in Hong Kong was timely and professional and the dogs arrived safely. Pet Express even took the time to share photos once the dogs were in their spacious and comfortable crates - and the dogs were drinking and eating right away, so we could tell both dogs were comfortable! Professional, caring, knowledgeable, efficient, reliable - the only company to use. We are so grateful!

    Finding Bri and her incredible personalized services has been an absolute blessing! I have a very…read morespoiled pug, Zeus (completely my doing), and I warned Bri in advance about his stubborn personality before even meeting her. She immediately reassured me that she was up for the challenge, which put my mind at ease. This was my first trip leaving Zeus with someone unfamiliar, and I was understandably anxious. Bri suggested a meet-and-greet to ensure we clicked and to make sure Zeus felt comfortable with her. On the day of the meeting, I had an emergency and couldn't attend, but Bri went above and beyond by continuing the meeting with my sister. She even offered to set up another meeting if I felt it was necessary--a testament to her thoughtfulness and professionalism. Zeus is also a notoriously picky eater, and Bri went out of her way to adjust his meals to find the perfect balance for him. It's not easy to keep this little pug happy, but her patience and care really showed. She made sure he ate well and even shared updates with me about how he was doing, which was such a relief. While I was away, Bri consistently updated me with pictures and little notes about Zeus throughout the day. This level of communication was wonderful and far beyond what most doggy boarding or daycare centers provide. I could tell that Zeus was happy and well-cared for, which gave me the peace of mind I needed. We had received plenty of recommendations for dog sitters, but I trusted Bri because you simply can't fake the genuine love and care of a true animal lover. Her attention to detail and dedication to Zeus' happiness made all the difference. I can't recommend her enough to any pet owner looking for someone who will treat their furry family member like one of their own!

    I usually groom my own 10 pound chi-poo Jinx. She's very fluffy. I'm self taught from years of…read morewatching professionals on YouTube. I learned on my first dog, a Bichon Frise. So I understand what it takes to create a smooth and polished coat on a fluffy dog. But sometimes I need someone else to do this job when I get busy or don't feel well. I heard about Seaside from a friend. I live in the area so I called and spoke to Lisa. I guess she's the owner. I mentioned Jinx's nervousness and she told me to come in the next day. She didn't mention that there would be a parade of regulars coming in (about 8 dogs) at that time or that she only accepts cash/checks. I would've come in earlier if I had known so I could've had her undivided attention to go over Jinx's needs. Lisa told me and my husband it would take about 3 hours, so we were surprised when she called us at 2 hours that she was ready. She reported that Jinx handled everything well. And honestly she seemed pretty chill. So that's a plus For her. She doesn't like everyone. At first glance, Jinx looked really cute. She had a cute little neckerchief on. We had to return with a checkbook to pay, as we weren't told about the payment situation. It's displayed on the counter, but it's so uncommon and we were distracted that we missed it. Good communication for first timers is important to establish orientation and trust. Going back home gave us time to evaluate Jinx's groom. I noticed right away there was unevenness on the hair around her face, so I had Lisa correct it. Later, however, after we left, I continued to notice mistakes. Uneven, choppy hair on the top of the head, the sides of the face under the ears, clipper trails marks on the body, and the tail wasn't even touched. While they did a better job on areas like the face and legs than I could ever do, it looked like the job was rushed and not inspected carefully for mistakes. I would normally go back to have things corrected if it was, say, my own hair. But I can't put Jinx through that. She's really a sensitive little dog and doesn't like new situations. So I will correct those things on my own. I'm not sure if I will be going back to Seaside. Maybe for the walk-in nail trim they offer, since they're so close. I really don't like being let down after paying $85 for two 1/2 hours of a basic service, though. While I realize that I am not easy to please And that I'm a perfectionist, I still expect professionals to know their job and perform basic quality control over their service. I would think they'd put their best foot forward for a new potential long term client. You don't get a second chance to make a good first impression. Sorry, Lisa. I liked you and your cute little store. I just think you're a little overbooked and could do better.
