While he was doing that I mentioned we needed the house pressure washed. He stated he could do that and fix some caulk issues at the same time. We agreed on a price. I pointed out a specific issue with caulk while we were talking and asked that he fix any caulk issues he found. My expectation was that he would actually look at the caulk over the entire house. He did not. He did the work when I was not at home so when I returned I asked him about what I could easily see from the ground as unfinished work. I wanted him to come back and do it right. His response was to offer me a $50 discount, meaning I needed to go find someone else and pay them to do what he didn't. We went back and forth by text with him becoming more angry and dismissive. Attached are photos of the work he did (or didn't do). His task was to pressure wash the house and fix any caulk issues. You can see for yourself the quality of his work. All of the guttering has black lines clearly visible from the ground so someone on a 40 foot ladder at eye level would have known it was dirty. The soffit face is dirty. The siding is still dirty. Several windows still have black on the bottom. Integrity shows through when nobody is looking. My experience shows me that Mr. Jessup doesn't have or demonstrate any. His blaming a customer for unfinished work does show he takes no pride in doing a good job. Update: Entire message thread posted in photos. If you are going to do the job, do the job. If not, don't take the money. I never offered to hire someone else. Read the text. I said your telling me you would give me $50 off was the same as you telling me you were not interested in finishing the job and to go hire someone else. I clearly told you I was not looking for a discount, that I wanted the work done. Either you are going to do the job or you aren't. Stop blaming me because it isn't clean and caulked. My end of the deal was paying you $370 which I have absolutely done. Your end is the one one still not complete. read more

Charles showed up with a mask and was very professional. He helped me fix my very squeaky floors when others turned the job down. Price was very fair and I was pleased with the results. Didn't eliminate the squeaks... maybe a 60% reduction, but considering the fact that others said it wasn't possible without tearing up the floors, I consider this a win. Will be saving his card for future projects! read more

Charles is an honest, hardworking, polite individual who does quality work for a fair price. So far, I have hired him multiple times for repair work on two of my properties. I initially contacted Charles with a request to have a small vanity installed in a half-bath in my townhouse. About two days before our appointment, I contacted him and asked if he would be willing to put some vinyl tiles and a vanity light in the same bathroom. Charles was so accommodating and was willing to complete all three installs. He showed up on time and immediately went to work--which I totally appreciated =) After that bit of work was completed, I took him on a tour of my home and showed him all the things I need to have done--one of which was (what I thought) a minor renovation to my master bath. We scheduled for a week later to begin that project. Again, Charles was punctual and worked feverishly to complete the tasks--little did we know he would also have to remedy several plumbing and electrical wiring issues. And I am so glad he did--there were more than a few things wrong with my bathroom plumbing that the previous owner had failed to address or didn't address properly. It took a little longer for those issues to be remedied but Charles knew how to fix them. I am so pleased with the outcome of the work he did and I will be hiring him to paint a few more rooms in my house, put up drywall in my unfinished laundry room, install new lighting in the common areas of the house, install recessed lighting in the kitchen, install backsplash tiles, and ultimately to complete a small bathroom (3/4 bath). I am SO happy I contacted Charles because he is honest, fair, a hard worker, and very knowledgeable. Looking forward to working with him again =) read more

After requesting an estimate and providing information on services desired, I was contacted by several landscapers, including Jessups. I was contacted via Yelp by someone from Jessups who scheduled a call for the upcoming Friday. Friday came and went with no contact. While I cannot judge the quality of work, I must say that a pet peeve of mine is poor communication and/failure to do what was said. This seems to be a huge problem in the Fredericksburg area. Charles did an amazing job demoing a wall in my bedroom that I wanted to convert from a his-and-her closet to one large closet to maximize the space to fit my needs. He responded to my request for a quote within just a few hours (on a Saturday) and was at my house Monday afternoon to fix it. It was a small project and he fixed it within 20 mins of arriving. Charles helped us with several projects: power washing, replacing steps on the deck, scraping moss off of our roof, and replacing locks on two doors. When he noticed that our outside spigot was not functioning correctly, he also replaced the parts which required that he go to several stores to find them. Charles showed up on time, rarely took breaks, was reasonably priced compared to other quotes we received, and was friendly and cheerful, even when a project took longer than he anticipated. I do wish that he had provided a contract rather than a simple estimate. He increased the cost of a couple of the jobs he completed that took longer than he originally thought it would. But all in all, I wouldn't hesitate to call him again. Good workers are hard to find! read more

Charles and Kenny did a wonderful job repairing my wood picket fence. They rebuilt a broken gate, replaced numerous broken pickets and a post that had snapped off in the ground. I will definitely hire them again for bigger jobs! They were great to work with. read more

We got a handful of quotes over the course of a week and the Jessup's team was the most responsive and the most reasonable in price for all of the random tasks we needed. We just moved into a new home and needed blinds, ceiling fans, and shelves put up, in addition to the bathroom tiles being sealed. Upon arrival Charles mentioned the process of what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. As he started to get the blinds unboxed and remeasured he realized they wouldn't fit as measured (13 out of 14 blinds I measured wrong!). Instead of just shrugging his shoulders and moving onto the next project he worked with us to try and find a solution to reduce the stress of having to rebox , return, and wait for new blinds. He also helped us with other miscellaneous things around the house that we didn't even notice or know we needed. He went above and beyond to help us out and get the job done!
