The last month of my life has been spent glued to my computer working on a 50th anniversary…read morephotobook for my parents. Actually, it started a bit earlier. I did LOTS of research before deciding what company to use. I wanted good software, MATT paper, and a high quality finish. Jessops came out quite high in all aspects but I still needed to be 100% sure. The one flaw in online services? You don't know for sure what you're getting til it arrives. But..... Jessops had a shop in Edinburgh! Woohoo. So, a month ago we plugged Murrayfield Sainsbury's into our GPS and ventured out into a section of Edinburgh we were unfamiliar with. Apparently, so was our GPS which wanted us to enter via the Gorgie road side, but (big tip here) the parking is on the Westfield Road side. Jessops is a small unit within Sainsburys. They carry everything you need for your camera, have instant print stations (glossy paper only) and a full photo lab with more paper options and superior quality, but you have to wait. On our first visit, we just wanted to see samples of their photobooks and we weren't disappointed. They had several different styles there so we could get a good idea of what the final product would look like. The staff were really helpful with letting us know all the options. If you just want to dump a bunch of pics (maybe all from one holiday) into a book - they have computers set up where you can make one on the spot. Or, you can use the comprehensive software that is free to download. My research informed me that the CEWE software Jessops uses is top notch. So, we liked the software, liked the matt paper options, liked the product and loved that we could collect the book in store and not worry about being away when it's delivered. One big decision made, now it was time to work on the book. The CEWE software was fairly easy to use. A few options were not easy to find, but thanks to the online help, I eventually managed to figure out how to do everything I wanted. There was also a separate download for a photo editing package - it is recommend to edit the pics before uploading to CEWE. I used my own software which I was more comfortable with. I used a lot of old photos and did my best to make them look as good as the up to date digital ones (without losing the vintage feel). It all looked 'OK' on my monitor, but wasn't sure how it would print. I was also able to add cute little touches using clip art, frames, masks which could be downloaded from CEWE's website - the selection was amazing. Well, a month later, practically blind from staring at the monitor, I pressed the submit button. Took an hour to upload! Now I had 7 to 10 days to wait. After paying online (when you submit) I went over to Jessops website to double check the delivery times. To my surprise, there was a 30% off voucher code!! Oh no! I quickly emailed Jessops with my order number and they graciously applied the offer and refunded my credit card the difference. In about 7 days I got an email to collect my book. I was nervous. I knew the pages would be matt but all the sample books had a glossy cover - would it be too shiny and cheap looking? Would the box I paid extra for be nice quality? Would my old, edited photos look nice? Well, Jessops outdid themselves on every aspect. The cover was MATT! and looked so classy. The photos that I scanned in printed out looking far better than the originals. The paper was gorgeous, the colours were true and natural. The box was black linen and had a magnetic clasp and hinged lid (I thought it was going to be a standard two part box). Now I want to turn all my photos into books! And I'm sure my parents are going to be blown away.

I sent in my Nikon D750 for a shutter replacement. They had run out of replacement shutters, but…read morestill took the camera and quoted £248+VAT for the service, including return delivery (verified in advance over the phone). I posted in the camera for about £7-8 insured delivery from memory. I then waited over 4 months for the service, and they charged an extra £15 for delivery. Disappointing, especially after (a) specifically asking for an all-in quotation and (b) waiting over a third of a year for the service to be completed with what should surely be a standard item they should always have in stock

Not only should children stay clear of my cherished DSLR but so should my Mum…read more.. Upon arriving at my Dad's birthday dinner, I realised my mum had decided to bring my camera along and had also accidentally smashed the screen into pieces on the way. Needless to say I wasn't in a celebratory mood and felt like shedding some tears into my minestrone starter and to be fair I'm sure Mags (the culprit) did too. Since I work in town this place was the most convenient so I set off on lunch to find out the damage to my camera and my... no actually Mags' purse. The staff were great. My camera was taken through the back and two minutes later I was told the LCD screen looked fine, it was just the glass protector that was ruined and would I mind if they removed it then and there. Feeling like a bit of a drama queen from the night before, but also like doing a dance at the same time, I agreed. Another two minutes went by and my camera was handed back to me looking good as new and I was told I'd be able to buy a glass protector online and reattach it myself. Although a short and sweet service the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Having been in the business for over 40 years I would definitely trust them with my camera should anything happen again. But since Mags is only allowed to use a disposable camera for the foreseeable future, it shouldn't. Love you really Mum :)

Jessops - jammed zoom arm, right lens was also completely detached.

HOW HAVE YOU SENT ME BACK THE SAME BROKEN PAIR!!!!…read more WTF IS GOING ON?!!! I've come home to my neighbour giving me back the same box with the same BROKEN PAIR that I sent back to you yesterday!!!! How is this actually possible!?!?????? I've now redacted all information on the box except for the DPD delivery number so they have no chance of getting confused. That's the only thing I can possibly imagine has happened... Despite it having their bloody sticker with a new barcode on the front! Could you please, PLEASE just send ANOTHER person to collect this stupid broken pair of binoculars again. This is such a waste of time, not just mine but everyone involved. So much petrol used for nothing... Waste is the key word here and me and my fiancé are actually so disappointed. Worst gift ever in my honest opinion, never had so much stress over something so simple. Just gimme a full refund tbh, I can't be bothered anymore. You win Jessop's, we'll tbf there are no winners here at all. Especially not my fiancé who's honestly had the most shambles of a gift ever. I've included some more pictures and video to show me proving it's the same broken pair. The same pair that doesn't zoom, has a ripped open part of the case, and a completely detached right lens (which I have since screwed back in as it was easier to repackage) HERE's MY ACTUAL REVIEW: My body physically aches, especially my neck with the amount of facepalming, pacing, stress, and anger I've had to deal with because of this crappy company. Worst gift giving experience of my entire life so far. Long story short, DON'T ever buy anything online from Jessop's. Ordered before Christmas, it's now been nearly a month since I ordered and it's ARRIVED DAMAGED, then returned BROKEN IN HALF, then the same broken pair was sent back to me, then sent away and made it way back to me for a third time. Still no response from either Csjessops.com or csresolutionsjessops.com outraged by the amount of time I've had wasted, a 7am-5pm collection slot (4 separate occasions now) for a pair of binoculars that arrived broken in half. Also Ive still been left in the dark with regards to what the solution is, I keep only getting umms and arrs about what they should do coz this is clearly such a massive fk up. I just want either a new pair or a refund and it's still such a struggle for them to even approve that and let me know what the outcome is. Nobody knows how to resolve this problem because not a soul has even tried to send me a new pair yet. They won't send you the goods you've ordered UNTIL they receive the broken goods back, now normally this would make sense, especially if the product can be resold or refurbished. The pair I received couldn't even zoom in, the zoom arm was completely jammed and the focus was never syncing... It's almost like one of the lens has been completely detached and forcibly been put back together again. It also came to me in a box labeled KITE PACKAGING.CO.UK so I know it was some other users broken pair that was sent back too, how the fk it ended up at my house, not once, not twice but three times due to Jessop's and DPD being incapable of delivery services. If you like being left in the dark, receiving countless broken or completly destroyed food then Jessop's is the place for you. Just make sure you take some Kalms or summin before you try and sort anything out with them. It WILL be a very stressful experience. Good luck. Oh, and wish me luck too! Haha ‍

One day a couple of months ago, I was handed a ten-year-old camera by my then boss and instructed…read moreto get it working. She'd taken it out of the loft that morning, and it was covered in dust and dirt. I took it and headed into Jessops on Sauchiehall Street. The member of staff I dealt with was really helpful, and was completely understanding when I explained what I wanted. He didn't even flinch a the sight of the old camera, and tactfully pretended not to notice the dust. He found new batteries and a new film and even tested the whole thing out for me. I left ten minutes later with the camera working. So yes, Jessops might not be the cheapest camera shop - but I think the service more than makes up for this.
