The stripes were much thicker and less precise, the finish was not as smooth or polished, the edges were softer, and the cake did not have the same clean, upscale appearance as the inspiration photo. I reached out to customer service because this was for a special occasion and I expected the cake to more closely resemble what I ordered. Their resolution was to offer me a discount on a future cake order. While I appreciate the offer, I do not feel that a future discount adequately addresses the fact that the cake I already paid for did not meet the expected design or quality. I believe a partial refund or another resolution tied to this specific order would have been more appropriate. Unfortunately, based on both the cake and how the concern was handled, I would be hesitant to order again.

I was very disappointed with my experience with this gender-reveal cake. I provided a specific…read moreinspiration photo and discussed the design I was hoping for, and unfortunately, the finished cake did not resemble what was shown or what we had discussed. What was especially disappointing was the overall execution. The cake did not have the polished, professional appearance I expected when paying for a specialty gender-reveal cake. To me, it looked more like a cake made by someone who was still learning rather than the finished product of an experienced professional. I completely understand that hand-painted cakes are an art and that no cake will ever be an exact replica of an inspiration photo. I wasn't expecting a perfect copy. I was, however, expecting the overall design, details, and level of craftsmanship to reflect the inspiration and our conversations. This was an important and sentimental occasion for our family, and I chose a professional bakery because I wanted something special that we could look back on and cherish. Unfortunately, the final result left me disappointed rather than excited about the cake. I did reach out to the bakery to express my concerns respectfully and give them an opportunity to address the situation, but my attempts to receive a response were frustrating. I was told that this is a form of art and up to the designer's interpretation. I believe constructive feedback is important, and my hope is that this experience helps the bakery understand the importance of communicating clearly with customers and ensuring that the final product meets the expectations established during the ordering process.
