Dealer said that the reservoir was overfilled. Hopefully, it was only with coolant. Not a great experience, I find that I can't recommend them. Nice and clean auto repair shop though! I find it strange that they did contact me to 'try to make it right', offering a $money certificate for their shop. But never admitted their mistake nor offer to just correct the present problem with the car. Maybe do a complete flush/replace/inspection of the coolant system? I hope that the younger technician does well striking out on his own, but I won't ever trust him again with my vehicles from this overall experience. Especially while including the phone followup, which actually hurt my opinion of this shop. The person on the phone didn't seem to know what they were talking about with car maintenance, nor what the problem was with my car after visiting their shop.

They arranged a tow from my house and had all of the car's problems diagnosed within a couple days. The estimate that they gave me was very fair. When they started working on all of the cars issues they were very fast and had the car back within a week and once I started driving it the car ran very well. Recently had my car towed to this shop after a previous positive experience. I had my car towed…read morethis weekend due to leaking fuel and it was discovered that my fuel tank had a puncture and required a replacement. Given that I had hit something the day prior, I wanted to work with my insurance due to the cost. My insurance estimator had an estimate $400 less than what the shop's estimate was. My options were to leave it with Lake Villa Tire & Service and pay the difference or have it towed elsewhere. I contacted the shop and spoke with Mike in the hope to ask some questions so I can make an informed decision to leave it there or have it towed elsewhere. Before letting me speak to ask my questions or inform him of the intent of my call, Mike went through the estimate (which I had a copy of already). He then ended the conversation with "put it this way, it ain't my car so I'm not paying for it" referencing to not eating the cost difference. I voiced my discontent with the conversation and tone in which he said "I'm not trying to beat you up over this." Not once did I ask him or the shop to eat the difference. I was hoping to ask questions on where the discrepancy was mainly so that I can decide if I would be willing to pay the difference myself to give business to a local shop. Rather than listening or allowing me to ask questions he wrongly assumed my intent was to get him to eat the $400 difference. Needless to say, I am having my car towed elsewhere & will never return here. Due to my experience, I cannot recommend this shop to anyone. I can totally understand that he has dealt with insurance companies often enough to be in positions like this before, where certain customers may expect the shop to eat the difference. My dissatisfaction is not based on the price difference between the shop and the insurance estimate, it is tone, the words he chose to use, and the wrongful assumption of the reason for my call. Honestly, for $400 I likely would have left it there vs. having it towed elsewhere and starting over. I need my car back.

Our daughter hit a curb with her front right tire in a slick icy snow on a Thursday night. She had…read moreit towed to the dealer she bought her vehicle at. Friday morning I called the dealer and they said they couldn't even look at it for three weeks. So here's the deal - our daughter was supposed to drive Sunday to stay with us in Tennessee for her two week Christmas break and we were watching her dog while she flew to meet friends in another state. Even if her vehicle could be fixed (bent lower control A-arm) somewhat quickly, the timing for her to still drive to be with us for Christmas was very tight. She is a teacher and she had to work Friday, so I was calling places from Tennessee. Another shop said they couldn't get to her vehicle for at least a week. I was thinking she would have to rent a car for two weeks to still make Christmas and her vacation she saved up for all d was looking forward to all year. The second shop recommended Gages Lake Auto & Light Truck. I called and spoke with Todd. He listened to our trouble. Then he said he'd go tow her vehicle from the dealer to Gages Lake and look at it and call me back. That same Friday at 2pm, he called and said they got the parts and would have our daughter's vehicle fixed by closing at 5:30!! She went with coworkers to an after school get together at a local restaurant and then got a ride to the shop where she paid and picked up her vehicle - all fixed! It was a Christmas miracle!!! She drove here (534 miles!) on Sunday as previously planned and everything worked out fine. With all the thanks to Gages Lake Auto!! Her friends and coworkers couldn't believe it and they all asked for the shop's name to put in their phones if they ever need service. We are very thankful for Gages Lake Auto! We will be back whenever we need something!

You better believe a tow was called, and despite telling the driver of the vehicle in question that he was in line to be towed, parked illegally, and also delaying another company's business from getting their merchandise delivery, of course when you are told that the right respond is to blow the person and say he doesnt care.
