Paid the deposit at the same time. Communicating with Jose the week prior I requested the trio set up an hour before the event started so no last minute sound checks etc. and the evening could start on time and go smooth. Needed a live mike so BD speeches could be made prior to their start time. He said not a problem. The BD started at 5 PM, still no trio. Dinner started at 6:15 PM, still no trio. Booked to play from 7 to 9 PM. Were they even going to show up ? No communication with either myself or the venue. Band showed up at 6:45ish to set up after the evening was in full swing. No apology yet (from Jose who I had negotiated the event with) and was told by Luis, the evenings lead, was all they knew they were hired to play from 7 to 9. TOTAL lack of professionalism in running your business and communicating with your client. Will NEVER recommend your business to any potential future clients. I would NEVER want my friends to go thru the same stress and anxiety we experienced last night.

He has several custom built amps as well as a drum kit set up and a giant computer where he can record whatever you want. It seems he has every tool imaginable to help his students learn, making the possibilities limitless for what you can do in there. I was instantly relieved when I stepped foot into his studio because the air conditioner was cranked up and it was a very hot day outside! It was much nicer than other teaching studios I had been in. His teaching area is very comfortable and a great environment to foster learning and really get into a lesson. Daniel is a super nice guy who really takes the time to talk to you and understand your situation. He was very good at helping and guiding me in the exact direction I wanted to go. He is extremely knowledgeable and has studied with the most talented and renowned musicians at UCSD so he knows music theory and guitar theory from the ground up. He even took the time to explain the differences in amp and speaker cabinet designs and the effects they have on guitar tone when I was curious about his gear. He is great at explaining concepts and really knows his stuff. All in all Daniel is definitely one of the top guitar teachers in San Diego. His comfortable studio is jam packed with cool guitar gear and teaching tools and he is one of the coolest guys you could ever want to take lessons from. After 13 years of lessons I decided to boycott any instrument playing for the next 12 years of my life. Recently I decided it was time to once again give learning an instrument another shot. This time, I wanted to play contemporary music that I enjoyed and I wanted to learn the electric guitar. I found Daniel Page on the internet and was instantly impressed with his vast knowledge and professionalism. I came to his studio as a beginner with absolutely no knowledge of the guitar. He helped me pick out my first guitar which is a telecaster that I absolutely love. He has given me recommendations and advice on everything from purchasing amps, metronomes, tuners, and has even taught me the basics like how to change guitar strings. Taking lessons at his studio is a completely different experience than what I endured during piano lessons. Daniel is laid back and patient which is very important when dealing with beginning students. He explains things thoroughly and encourages me to ask questions. He always lets me choose the songs that I want to learn and he breaks down the hard parts to make them more manageable. I've only been taking lessons for 6 months now, and I am amazed at the progress I have made. His teaching has inspired me and my appreciation for the guitar has grown tremendously. Our guests told us that that they loved our DJ, and were impressed with the sequence in which songs were mixed. Peter Jaffe is a great conductor and a fantastic leader for the symphony. Not only is he knowledgeable and passionate about music, he is also extremely friendly and approachable. Their free concert on July 4 is a great way for the symphony to celebrate with people who wouldn't normally visit the symphony. They also include some interesting performances in their season. I had the pleasure to see Mark Twain's World: A Symphonic Journey with Genuine Thespians, which wsa part music and part theater, but not a musical. If ever you have a chance to visit the Stockton Symphony, I would highly recommend it.

They played everything we asked them to and were very interactive with the crowd. MC and band all in one. Not everyone at our party spoke Spanish, but that didn't even matter. Everyone enjoyed it. They accompanied my 13-year old niece singing "El Rey" as well as my cousin who sang some Selena songs. We danced so much that a few days later we are still trying to recover. Some bands are a hit or miss, but this one was definitely a hit! I will certainly be hiring them for future events. They were so much fun and I highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed. Communication was terrible and completely unprofessional. He requested half the payment upfront, so I gave him a $200 deposit. After he received the money, he stopped responding -- no replies to my calls, texts, or voicemails (both in English and Spanish). As my mother's 90th birthday was approaching, I was extremely uneasy and stressed, not even sure if he would show up. To my surprise, another group -- not Mario -- arrived to perform. Thankfully, they were good and did a nice job, but they were not the people I hired. It seems Mario just passed the job off to someone else without any communication or confirmation. Overall, this was a very unprofessional experience. I would not recommend working with Mario Hernandez. There are plenty of other groups out there who respect their clients and communicate properly. Please beware -- he takes his cut and disappears.
