I thought about giving two stars only because they didn't hassle me about giving me a refund for…read morethis month and the recital outfit I paid for, but no...they just don't deserve two stars. I signed my daughter up for the age 4-6 ballet class. This was our first time at dance class, for her and me, so let me preface this with that--I have no idea how a dance school should be run, but I'm pretty sure, this isn't it. There are about ten kids in this age group, but they run the class at the same time as the next age group up--that has another ten kids in it--so when you pay for that hour of class time what you're actually getting is half an hour because when they're working with the older group, your kid is sitting on the filthy floor getting her pretty pink(required uniform) ballet clothes absolutely dirty. That's twenty kids with the owner and an instructor "teaching them." I warned the owner that she is a pretty wild kid at the beginning of the first class--I mean let's be real, she's four--and it was obvious by the end of the class, she was annoyed with her. After the second class, she said that she was having trouble working with her, but that it usually takes 6 classes for them to get the hang of it. My daughter just finished her third class, and the owner kicked her out of the class saying she wasn't ready. Well...from what I can see no kid is going to be ready if it requires the owner to put forth any effort with them. She herself spends half the classes sitting down on her cell phone, but parents aren't supposed to see this because there's no watching your kids while they dance. There's no cameras or window into the room. There is a large window to the outside, but when I asked her if I could watch from there she said as long as she doesn't see me. I watched from my car for the three classes, and I saw enough. The owner put forth zero effort with trying to teach my kid anything. If you expect small children to behave like cattle, and just do as their supposed to, then this is the place for you. But if you expect more, like for your kid to have fun and to actually learn something--and to be able to JUST BE A KID--steer clear of this establishment. Needless to say, we will not be returning in August as she suggested. Complete waste of time. The only good thing I have to say is that the young instructor(can't recall her name)seemed very patient and kind with my daughter, regardless of how the owner treated her, she should be acknowledged for that. About the only good thing this place has going for them.

Today was our very first day. We did a trial class in the Creative Movement class, which is for…read more2.5-4yrs old. It was adorable and focused on fun. They stretched, did a few ballet moves (1st, 2nd, 3rd positions and Demi-pliés) and then danced in semi-silly, and semi ballet-like ways. It was adorable! The only thing that surprised me was that the dancers are separated from the parents during class. There is a large window where you can watch, but my child is a little clingy so it was an issue. Luckily, they allowed me to remain in the dance area for her comfort, which I appreciated. Then about halfway through, she needed to go potty. Afterwards, I was able to send her in with the other dancers alone. The parent area is HUGE! There are toys to play with, lots of (comfortable) places to sit, and even cold water and soda on sale ($1.00 each). Also, there are Ballet shoes available to borrow for free if you aren't ready to buy your own, or if your dancer forgot yours. The building doesn't look like much from the outside, but I was super happy with what I found inside. Oh! My $10 trial class fee? It was applied 100% to her first month tuition. ($50) Also, my daughter has a physical disability, and wears a brace on one leg. They didn't even bat an eye. Just asked me about what her limitations were. Highly, highly recommend!

Being on the competitive team was amazing and the best experience as it's super challenging and all the girls really help each other. You have to get selected to be on the team, so if you try your hardest, anyone has a chance. The owners, Janie and Elizabeth, are total sweethearts! The teachers, though I think they've changed a bit in the past couple years, are great! The dances are all creative and have fun music. Recitals are great and all the time that the teachers spend prepping your kids for it is really special. Overall it's a very challenging and positive atmosphere as all the teachers push you to do your best and to give your all. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a new studio in the area.
