I could have used a little more sauce but it was very flavorful and seasoned well. The protein was thinly sliced and it was a large portion. I ate some for dinner and lunch the next day and still had some left over. The environment is very calm and casual and would be great for a working lunch or lunch with friends. In that the restaurant is halal, there were many Muslim families there as well. Always a good sign when ethnicities are eating at local restaurants of their own cuisine. The place was pretty full. I ordered the Arabian salad and added chicken and Sally ordered a mixed grill plate. Her plate was expensive but plentiful. Mine was expensive for what I got and quite small. I was disappointed, although it was tasty. I could tell Sally felt bad for me that my portion was so small since she shared some of her dinner with me! I am still struggling with how expensive everything has gotten in restaurants, and so I tried to take it all with a grain of salt when I am comparing a price with the portion, but in this case it was hard for me to justify over $15 for a small salad with one small skewer of chicken. So as far as atmosphere, location, taste of the food and service, it was all excellent. I just could not help but wonder if they could have given me more food for what I paid. It made me feel like I might have been better off eating at home or going somewhere else for a better value. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing, or I need to accept that everything is much more expensive and portions are getting smaller. In either case, if you are looking for authentic Middle Eastern food in an authentic Middle Eastern atmosphere, Aladdin's Shawarma deserves a visit. For being a pretty busy event, they were turning the food out quickly, and we only had to wait a few minutes. Everything came out hot, and tasted great. The gyro was packed with flavor, and sauce. It got a bit messy, but napkins were provided and it was well worth it. The fries were perfectly cooked with a good crunch on the outside, and great texture on the inside. They were also perfectly seasoned. I'm looking forward to trying more of their food soon, maybe at one of the locations next time!

However bearing the bottom of the bowl it had little to no flavor on the chicken. The thinly sliced chicken appeared compacted in the bowl and all other ingredients were simply tossed in the bowl. I don't think I've ever had lamb as tender and tasty; the Adana kebab had a very pleasant spice to it, and the gyro meat was incredibly flavorful, moist, and juicy. We also enjoyed the garden salad and tabouleh as side dishes. Our absolute favorite was the Beef Pide (Turkish pizza). It consisted of spicy ground beef with onions, tomatoes, peppers, and parsley, served in a crispy, boat-shaped fresh dough. It was truly fabulous. Our server made us feel like family. The dolma, stuffed grape leaves, were clearly house made and very fresh. The baba ganoush, grilled eggplant dip, was not as pureed as I typically find but was very tasty. Finally, the shakshuka, a dip made from eggplant, bell peppers, and a tomato sauce, was very good. I usually think of shakshuka as a Moroccan egg and tomato dish that is served hot. This was served cold and did not contain eggs, but was tasty nonetheless. The accompanying pita tasted freshly baked. For our entree, we tried a kofte pita and a donner pita. The bread on both sandwiches was very thin -- closer to what I think of as lavash compared to the pita that came with our mezzes. Both pitas had a generous serving of protein along with tzatziki and fresh veggies. In particular, the kofte was very moist and flavorful, but both were excellent. When you enter the restaurant, you order at the counter. They have a variety of canned and bottled beverages with water available at the dining area. I usually complain about counter service restaurants that expect a tip, but Kapadokia Grill is an exception to the rule. Our mezzes were delivered to the table first, then the pitas followed at an appropriate time afterwards. The server who delivered our meals followed up to make sure everything was good and also offered us complimentary hot tea or coffee. The tea was served in the traditional Turkish tea glass, complete with blue evil eyes. After we finished our meals, our serving trays were cleared. We didn't even need to look at the menu because we both wanted the Iskander Platter. Lucky we came in when we did because we got the last of it. Since having it the first time, I've watched a few recipe videos on how it's made. It's quite a process and takes a while so it's understandable they can't just make more quickly if they run out. This time it had a little different flavor than the last time. It had a saltier flavor and not quite as buttery as I remembered which was disappointing since that was the best part for me. It was still delicious but I was happy for the yogurt that helped cut the saltiness a little. Possibly the sauce became more concentrated since it was the end of the batch they had. I could only finish half because it's such a large portion but my husband finished his. The service was super friendly as always. The owners here are so lovely and always attentive. It's decked out like a small convenience store from the second you walk in. We ordered our food at the cash register to eat at one of their tables outside. The cashier brought our sandwiches out about 10 minutes after ordering. I ordered the Turkey Caesar. It had turkey, shaved parmesan, marinated cherry tomato, house-made Caesar dressing, onion, and romaine lettuce in an 8" sandwich roll. It was a little pricey at $15, but it was worth the splurge. The dressing and parmesan cheese were unbelievable! Since this is in downtown Greensboro, there is no dedicated parking lot but we easily found street parking nearby.
