I've been to both locations but once I went to Marco at the Rockaway location, there was no thought as to who would cut my hair from now on. As stated in another Yelp review, Marco is the Kobe Bryant of the fade. One of their barbers, Isaac, sent me harassment via text after he was late for our 3:15 appointment. Sent me harassment via text messages saying that it was my fault for not holding our appointment. I arrived early and one of the other barbers offered to cut my hair at 3:10 and since Isaac was nowhere to be seen, and nobody informed me that Isaac was running late, of course I obliged. I did not specifically schedule an appointment with Isaac, I just scheduled a 3:15 haircut, I had no idea who it was with until the guy who cut my hair informed me that I had an appointment with Isaac (so he knew it was his colleague's appointment). Anyway, read the conversation below for yourselves from Isaac, a "20 year service employee" for his responses. Mind you, I think I've met him once before but I never gave this loon my phone number for personal use, he must have used my billing information to stalk me after the appointment.. He never bothered to call me, to explain why he was running late, so I found it entitled and rude. I'm very disappointed in the service. What's funny is I would have been more than happy to reschedule with him had he called prior to let me know he'd be running late or work something out after the fact (since he had my number). I have never left a poor review for someone in the service industry, especially as a former waiter, customer service rep, and taxi driver. But hey - since he's a veteran of the service industry, maybe I'm mistaken. Anyway, I hope this feedback is helpful in improving, I'm sorry you were having a bad day, Isaac. This was my second time here. I took a guy name Ruben. Never had him cut my hair. I asked for a mid fade & got this. Unsatisfied with the results, I told him it wasn't a mid fade. He then asked if I was a barber in an ungracious way. With that I replied, "I've had enough haircuts to know this isn't a mid fade." To avoid any further altercations I just paid the man. Even at their busiest times on a Saturday they always have plenty of Barbers staffed so that the wait times are not too bad. Dont go to Jersey's Finest. On 8/28 I had Terrell trim my beard and hair. I told him I hadn't had a cut for 16 months. He did a terrible job on my hair. I told him again to just take 1/4 inch off. He cut at least 2.5 to 3 inches from the back. I came in with a 3 inch ponytail, and left with no ponytail. Thinking back, he must have known he screwed up because he didn't show me the back of my head with a mirror. Oh, their owner/management don't care either. Worst barber shop in dover! walked in I was told there was a 25 minute wait I was sitting there for a hour 30 minutes. I went to the Rockaway Boro location. First visit I went in, many hairstylists saw me sit. No one said anything about signing in until I saw someone sign in 14 minutes after I was there. Then I was told I had to sign in and my wait would be about an hour. I am a man with a military type haircut. I said I would come back they suggested I make an appointment and come in 15 minutes prior to that appointment and the cut would be $22. I made my appointment and as told came in on appointment day signed in 15 minutes prior to my appointment. I still waited almost an hour then got one of the worst haircuts I've ever gotten and was charged $30. I told the young man to cut a little off the top. he didn't then put a ton of gel in my hair (without asking) if I wanted it. When I said I needed a little off the top he proceeded to cut my hair with the gel in it. HORRIBLE experience. I definitely DO NOT recommend Jersey's Finest... more like Jersey's Worst!!!!! I have been going here for the last 5 years had no problem until last weekend (Saturday), which was by far the worst experience I have had to go through. I normally get my cut from one of the barbers that usual takes care of me, but unfortunately he was away on vacation for the month. I walked in with only one person ahead of me figuring I would be the next person up, boy I was dead wrong! There were four barbers each taking care of the customer (right side of the barbershop as you walk-in). I took a seat expecting one of the barbers would at least ask if I wanted my cut. No one spoke or even approached me as if I was invisible. I asked barber A as soon as he finished with his client if he could cut my hair, he then replied " I cannot I have another client coming in soon" - I was very understanding as I had only been waiting 20 minutes and there were 3 other barbers that had no customers waiting. After 40 minutes Barber B decided to go get lunch and did not even acknowledge me sitting there, which started to tick me off just a tad bit. Another customer then walks in and sits besides me for 20 minutes. Barber A then ask Barber D if he can take care of me as I have been sitting down there for a while, which he takes one look at me and just walks away. My patience was starting to run extremely thin, but decided as I have waited all this time I might as well just stick it out and get at least what I came for. After 60 minutes Barber C whom was just wrapping up with his client after sitting in the chair for a God knows 60+ minutes decided to finally check his client out at the register. Which I then assumed in my head that it was my turn to get my cut, so I decided to go to the bathroom real quick. Low and behold as soon as I walk out of the bathroom the person that just sat down was in the seat. This by far was the biggest bull S** I have ever experienced. I have never been so disrespected in my life. This Barber knew I had been waiting patiently and decides to give his seat away for a client that has only been waiting not even half as long as me. That was the final straw so I ended up walking out without saying a word. I will not be going back until my barber comes back from vacation so I don't have to deal with these people who obviously could careless how long I had waited for. I want to make a side note that I have always tipped ($5-$10) on $18 cut and have a good relationship with the barber that normally cuts my hair. read more

Do not go to this overpriced and extremely unprofessional place!!! So I wanted to try a new barber shop that wasn't a franchise for me and my son who is 6. I went to this one because the reviews seemed okay. Big mistake. My son got the haircut first and the guy had no clue how to cut hair. I specifically told him I want square sideburns for my son, and he gave him a needle thin pointed one, maybe because he didn't understand English or was to engrossed in watching Omega, the singer, on TV while cutting hair. Which barber in his right mind would give a 6 year old a pointed sideburn. And then when out of concern I stood next to my son to make sure the guy didn't make any more mistakes, the other barber yelled at me and asked me to go sit down. I decided not to get my cut there after experiencing such rudeness. And when I got back home and my sons hair was dry again, I noticed a large lock of hair on the right side that wasn't the same length as the other hair. My son was so upset because he was worried that his classmates at school would make fun of his pointy hair. I had to take a scissors and cut it. Never never again am I going back. If you value and love your kids, don't take them there. read more
