They give out mtg land cards for free, though I'm not sure if they do the same for pokemon energy cards. Prices seem fair. I don't really like the people though, both workers and customers seem to lean on the side of neckbeards in their 30s and 40s. If you want younger, more hygienic, and less know-it-all people to play or chat with, tower of games is a better bet.

Frequently, the shop's mascot dog is around and she is super sweet. In terms of selection, they're very solid. There's not a ton of international stuff, but they have the big ones. For a smaller location, the selection of indie titles is impressive. I love the intimate feel of this place. I've never felt uncomfortable as a woman or in general and the shop has been able to answer any questions I've ever had. Love it here!

The shelves are overflowing with comics from every universe--Marvel, DC, indie stuff that makes you question reality, and at least one title where a duck is a private investigator (don't ask, just read it). The staff? Legends. They speak fluent nerd, offer reading recommendations like comic sommeliers, and will absolutely roast you (lovingly) if you call Batman a superhero with no powers. This is a pure comic temple. Graphic novels as far as the eye can see. You'll walk in for one issue and leave with enough reading material to survive a small apocalypse. Just don't tell your partner you "accidentally" started a new pull list.

Compared to all the shops I've been too, this is one of the larger LCSs. That's because they also hold playing cards tournaments. That's a whole different animal I don't want to get into. The store has it all. You want modern, old age, graphic novels, back issues, $1 bins, slabs, toy collectibles, figures, Pops, manga, and other art works, it's here. Along with candy, snacks, soda and a bathroom. How long do these card tournaments last? Geeks, told you they're different animals. ;p Much respect to the card community. And I guess they pass out tee shirts to new visitors. Automatic five stars there. Seriously overall is five stars. This place has it all and the people working there were very nice. I was able to chat with all of them and understand the comic book community area a bit better. Virginia is a big hub for the community and they get packed. So what are you waiting for, a movie?
