I called in the morning, to set up an appointment for the sewer and other drains to be cleaned. Manny was able to set it up for later in the morning. What I liked is that I received emails along the way, like at one point he was a little delayed at another location, so my appointment was adjusted, just by an hour or so. As soon as Manny was done there, I received an email that he was on his way, and he still made it within the original time slot. There was one problem area, which he was able to tackle. He worked fast and cleaned everything out. Another upside; Manny is very nice and personable. In addition, the pricing is very competitive compared to other big companies I had over in the building before. I will definitely have him back next year for another cleaning. read more

Highly recommend Manny. He is real friendly and knowledgeable. He arrived on time, and finished the job quickly. In the mean time, he continued to educate me throughout the job to help me prevent the same problem again. I particularly appreciated his concerns of the cleanliness of the house throughout the job!!! Finally the price he charged is fair. What more can I ask for?! Will call Manny again if I have future problem. He is better than any of his peers I have worked with. read more

I called Manny Wednesday night around 8PM and he got back to me right away with the best price of all the plumbers I spoke to. He was very responsive and informative. He was upfront and direct with what needed to be fixed and his price was unbeatable! Even thought I didn't end up using Manny's service due to timing issues, (I needed a plumber asap but he couldn't get to me until 11AM the next morning) I would still recommend him! read more

Manny lived up to his reputation. He came promptly and assessed the situation without beating about the bush. He was honest enough to say that I don't need any work done at this time as the ejector pump is working fine. Wow - what a relief to find such an honest plumber! I will definitely call him when I have any plumbing problems in the future. read more

We had a drain issue in Hell's Kitchen brownstone couple times, Manny has always been responsive, on time, and professional. He comes thru when you have issue/ emergency and I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of drain and sewer related issues. Highly recommend! read more

Had a clog that the building couldn't clear fairly late at night. Called and Manny arrived about 30 min later almost at 11 PM. He immediately got to work in a very professional manner, explaining everything as he worked quickly. He had the clog cleared, piping patched up, and the area around the sink cleaned up in under an hour. read more

The plumber was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I'll hire him again for sure.

Returned from vacation in the middle of the night after long flight delays and 23 hours of travel. Turned on kitchen sink and suddenly had a lake in my kitchen. This was at 1 a.m. between a Saturday and a Sunday. Woke up Sunday morning and started calling plumbers with decent Yelp ratings. Manny and Manhattan Sewer Drain were second on the list. The first place, which I have used before and were fine, did not even answer the phone -- I got a voicemail greeting telling me to call back during business hours M-F. BUT I HAVE A NON-WORKING KITCHEN SINK!!! Manny answered the phone at 7:45 a.m. and said he would come at noon. I did a happy dance and my husband reminded me not to count unhatched chickens. But Manny was true to his word and all went to plan -- I really appreciated the little technological touches that added to my confidence -- he texted and called first to ask for pictures of my under-sink area in order to make sure he had the proper parts for the repair; then I received automated emails letting me know when he was en route, as well as when he was arriving. He came right on time, assessed the situation, went out for parts, came back, fixed my rotted pipe, ran a water test and was on his way within about 45 minutes! I should also mention that this was not just any Sunday, but a snowy one to boot with streets all slushy from an all-day Saturday snowstorm. Manny was super nice, professional, did what he said and transformed my kitchen from a nightmare to its normal functional self in under an hour. That would have been amazing in my book even if it didn't all happen on a Sunday morning! I will definitely call Manny again when I have plumbing nightmares unfolding around me! Final note -- for those who are railing about costs. I just don't know what to tell you except that this is NYC -- it is one of the most expensive cities on earth and it's expensive to run an on-call expert service business here too. I suppose plumbing may cost a little less in other towns but then you have to live in that other town. I notice this is a theme on veterinarian reviews too. It does stink to have to cough up a lot of dough unexpectedly but it doesn't mean someone is trying to fleece you. They have to cover their costs in order to keep their business afloat and be there for you when you need them! As for me, my repair cost in the neighborhood of $600 which was reasonable in my book for the service provided including the time and parts. I added a gratuity (cash and a gourmet chocolate bar) to express my thanks for the quick and professional service especially outside of normal business hours. I hope Manny stays in business for a long time to come! read more

I have a old claw tub and the drainage was worsening day to day. I tried Draino, enzymes, as well as snaking it myself without any success. I realized it was time to call in reinforcements so i took to google looking for a plumber close to my apt (LES). I found ManhattanSewerDrain.com, explained the problem and Manny gave me an estimate on the phone and emailed me a service request in PDF. He was able to solve the problem using a commercial snake machine. He was on time, friendly and professional and at a very fair price for manhattan. Thank you ! read more

The slow-moving drain in the tub went to completely clogged with standing water-Yuck! My super wasn't available so decided to find a plumber on my own and found Manhattan Sewer. Based on Yelp reviews called Manny & called me back right away, and was here the next day and problem solved in no time. I felt the price was reasonable and told me that if I had any problems in the next 30 days, he would come back to fix it at no charge. PS- I had to change the time of our first appointment due to work, and Manny was very accommodating. Will absolutely use him again. Highly recommend! read more

Manny was amazing. He is the Drain Doctor for sure. He just left after quickly assessing the problem, then clearing the clog which another plumber had spent 2 hours trying to get at with a snake. Manny was here for 15 minutes. I am so pleased with Manny's professionalism and service. Highly recommended. He is the man! read more

I experienced a nightmare clogged drain in my apartment. My kitchen sink, bathroom sink, and shower/bath were all victims, sometimes at different times and sometimes simultaneously. After the work my Super performed was unsuccessful, and work from another plumber just made the situation worse, Manny came and saved the day. Manny took his time, carefully assessed what he was doing, cleaned up after himself and explained to me what he was doing and why. Not only did he fix the clog, but he stuck around a little while longer to make sure the problem was solved. Had a great experience with Manhattan Sewer Drain and will recommend them to everyone I come across who has a clogged drain. read more

Manny came on short notice after another plumber cancelled on me at the last minute on my only day off. He was punctual and professional. Make this your first call because Manny is the man! Great service from start to finish! I had a toilet issue late at night. He answered the phone immediately, confirmed through email, and was on the job quickly. Household disasters don't work 9-5... they happen any time. I'm please with the service, professionalism, and convenience. Other plumbers had answering services and never got back to me. If there were 6 stars... I'd give them to Manhattan Sewer Drain read more

Like all other reviews, Manny is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and prepared. From sending an image of the issue, Manny knew exactly what tools to bring, and had the foresight to know that I needed an additional 2 pipes replaced. He even went as far as to alert me of a possible issue that will need the building's attention. I'm so thankful to have had this first experience with such an outstanding plumber and will always turn to Manny for any future needs. read more

Great for emergency drain cleaning. My sink was backing up a lot of black sludge. He showed up ASAP and put a drain on the pipe under the sink, and then snaked it. Price was better than my experience with big brand plumbing co. read more

I actually stumbled upon Manny and his company on Yelp. As a building owner, my "regular" guys were busy and I had no choice but to call the major commercial companies, AKA Roto Rooter... Dealing with them was a nightmare... Called their # and was transferred to a nationwide operator. They told me someone would call me back.. Which they never did. I was looking for someone local in the area to do the job. And BAMN Manhattan Sewer Drain popped up on Yelp. Browsing his credentials and reviews, Manny's company seemed promising. I immediately called him and he picked up right away. I told him that I had an emergency with the sewer backing up and my commercial tenants were getting increasingly frustrated.. Told Manny about the issue, he told me that we would be there within 2 hours and would call me as soon as he leaves his current job! In an hours time, he called me up with a update. Told me that he was on his way! He showed up on time and I was getting email updates throughout the entire process. Never had a used a company so professional and honest! Needless to say, Manny was the man of his words. Lived up to his promise. After the week's freak rainstorm, the entire NYC sewer system was backed up. My tenants were complaining about sewer backup again and I had to call Manny to schedule another service. He showed up ON TIME and as usual, called and emailed ahead of time with his update and current location. He did what he had to do. Honest the entire time! If you ever need a sewer line cleaned, Manny is the guy to call! read more

Manny arrived within two hours after calling as promised. Very professional and competent. I especially appreciated his willingness to move through all the crap in my basement left by tenants without complaint. Vert patient and courteous I would highly recommend him read more

We needed a bathtub drain unclogged in a pinch and Manny was able to come the same day. He was very courteous, professional, and even took off his shoes before coming into the apartment. His pricing was reasonable and overall it was as great an experience as having a bad bathtub clog can possibly be. We will definitely call him again in the future if we have any other plumbing problems! read more

I sent them a photo of my leaky sink on Saturday and they replied shortly after with an estimate of $290, for three replacement parts and the labor. I made an appointment for Monday at 9:30 a.m. but didn't realize that they were going to call to confirm. They called at 8:00 a.m. but I was sleeping and didn't hear the phone. After calling once more, they cancelled my appointment, which I discovered 45 minutes later when I woke up and checked my voice mail. That was the only stumble in an otherwise positive experience. I wish they had told me when I made the appointment that they would be calling 90 minutes before to confirm that I was home. Fortunately they were able to schedule me for a 3:00 p.m. appointment the same day. Manny the plumber came on time and fixed the problem in about an hour. He had to use a pipe cutter and replace the three parts. The bill was exactly as estimated: $290. Plumbing repair isn't cheap in NYC and, while I don't have a frame of reference (this is only the second time I have called a plumber), this seems a fair price or at least the going rate for plumbers. The parts were $120 and so I assume the labor was $170. They e-mailed me a receipt while I waited. Manny was very polite and did a good job. He explained that the pipes just wear out, it was nothing particular that I did to my sink, they just don't typically last more than 5 years. I guess they don't make pipes like they used to because I grew up in an old farmhouse and those pipes, from the early 20th century, were never replaced and never leaked. But looking at the thin rusted-out pipes that he took out, I am not surprised they don't last longer. Anyway, the service was fast and courteous, the price was fair, and it's good to have a reliable plumber for future problems. Highly recommended. read more

This plumber is professional and knowledgeable; he came on time on the same day, and he fixed the broken pipe swiftly and accurately. What a relief! I knew he was a great professional when he asked me to text him a photo of the broken pipe: it was clear that he would be well prepared for the job, and was certain to have the materials and time required to fix the problem. I am so happy to have my sink back so swiftly! read more

When my bathtub was draining water slowly I got on Skype and contacted several plumbers. I was surprised at how many plumbers wanted to charge me to come over just to look, and one company wanted to charge me for parking. Of all the companies I contacted, Manhattan Sewer Drain was definitely the best. The price was reasonable and I was not going to be charged just for someone to come over and look, or to park. We agreed on the price and date and from that moment on, it was smooth sailing. I received emails confirming the appointment and reminders as well. When Manny came over he snaked the drain and showed me that there was some caulking blocking it. In fact, I had the tub recaulked recently and that piece was partially blocking the drain and the buildup continued. Manny was on time, profession, friendly and did the job quickly. Service was impeccable. It was a great experience and I can recommend the company without reservation. read more

Unbelievably good service for New York. Called Manny this morning for what I thought was a clogged drain, and he was able to come over lunch to fix it. Turns out that the issue is between two apartments, and he quickly and competently fixed both apartments' issues at once! All the while he's the nicest guy. I'm on the co-op board of the building, and we now know whom to call for any and all future building plumbing issues. Fast, reliable, friendly. read more

For more than a year our building super and the building's plumbers unclogged our toilet over and over. It would be ok for awhile, then clog a gain. It clogged again last Christmas Eve and I found Manny on line. He arrived in about 30 minutes. I wasn't there even and our building porter let him in. He called to say that just clearing the clog wouldn't do much and he needed to remove the toilet. I said ok. He said the charges would increase. Ok. Since then we have never again had a clogged toilet. So even what the building's big plumbing firm repeatedly failed to do, Manny did politely, efficiently and thoroughly. Thanks! read more

The other reviews were right. Manny arrived right on time, was professional, courteous, and, most importantly, fixed a complex drain problem that we weren't able to resolve ourselves. He even cleaned up our bathroom afterwards. One other thing I appreciated is that, instead of charging me extra for another simple issue I asked a question about, he said we could easily and cheaply just get a replacement part for it at Home Depot. read more
