I've been coming to this location for quite a while, and in the past, the experience has consistently been positive--friendly greetings, upbeat staff, and an overall welcoming atmosphere. That's actually a big part of why I keep coming back. I completely understand that everyone has off days--it happens. But during my most recent visit, the experience felt noticeably different. When I walked in, two employees were engaged in a conversation--one behind the counter and one in front. I offered a casual greeting, but didn't receive a response. They continued their conversation, and even after returning to their tasks, there wasn't any acknowledgment or check-in. I stood there for a bit, looking over the menu and waiting patiently, but there was no follow-up--no "Are you ready?" or "Can I help you with anything?" What stood out even more was that another customer came in shortly after and was greeted and assisted right away. Maybe I'm a bit sensitive to it, but first impressions matter. The atmosphere and level of engagement play a big role in whether I choose to spend my money somewhere--especially when it's a place I've previously enjoyed. I came in looking forward to a great sandwich and that familiar welcoming vibe, but unfortunately, it just wasn't there this time. I'm sharing this not out of frustration, but because I know how great this location can be. A simple acknowledgment or quick check-in can go a long way in making customers feel valued. I'm hopeful this was just an off moment, and I look forward to coming back in the future and experiencing the excellent service I've come to expect. read more

I love Jersey Mikes Subs. I don't understand who would go to a subway over Jersey Mikes. The bread tastes 1,000 times better. I usually get the ham and provolone and do it Mikes way but then I add mayo and mustard. It always turns out super tasty and all the ingredients taste fresh. They slice the ham and cheese right in front of you so you know it's super fresh. Inside was nice and clean. Not a ton of seating but that's ok. I just got my sub to go. FORGOT THE BACON! Complete failure, we ordered the #8 famous Club sandwich at 4:30 pm yesterday, only two other people in the store, the meat guy made our sub and slid it down the line to the cashier guy, no communication to add the very important Bacon. We could see the perfect bacon strips in the window, glistening and tempting. Opened the sub for our midnight snack and guess what? No Bacon! Can't stand it when people can't get a very simple sandwich correct, they just don't care here. Sad. Come down to OB instead and visit Poma's deli or Hungry Lu's on Voltaire, they always get your order right. time Cathy the manager did respond, below, thanking for taking the time to review and and promised to have the team do better next time. Nice words but a lost opportunity. I'm not here for training or the copy-and paste will do better next time response. Was hoping to be offered an immediate refund for the inferior product or better yet, be offered to return for a full replacement sub. Be a great leader and jump on this, don't let it fester with vague will try harder responses. May still return and try to get refund or replacement anyway, and if not then a chargeback should work. Genuinely the most bizarre experience I've ever had ordering food. I placed an online order for 3 sandwiches at 11:11am. I arrived at this location at 11:20am, sat in the car while my fiance went in for the food. At about 11:25 I walked in asking what's going on, she said they're still making it. There were 4 employees visible up front, there were 2 people ordering, and during the whole time we waited, 2 seperate people picking up small online orders as well. At 11:33 I went back inside to ask what's was going on, they said they were just finishing our order. Finally at about 11:35 we got our 3 sandwiches. About 25 minutes of wait time for 3 sandwiches, the entirety of that time there were a total of 2 people in store ordering, and 2 other online pickups. No large orders, no catering events. 4 visible employees and it took about a half hour to pick up 3 sandwiches. Ive previously worked at Jersey mikes for a few years. I understand how the day to day business works. There's no explanation as to how our order took this long to make, with that little customers, and that many employees. There was also 0 explanation or communication from staff as to what was going on. To top it off, our order was incorrect. We ordered bacon on the side, and it was on the sandwich. Overall just a terrible and bizarre experience with no communication. I will never be coming back to this store. read more

This location is nothing short of amazing. The day I decided to place an order for pick up I was unaware that all of Rosecrans was without power. I wasn't going to nag anyone about it just simply asked for a refund. I tried to open the door. I saw that it was locked and I was willing to just call it a day. I am so impressed with how professional Lisandra and the other staff members at this Jersey Mikes are! I had a large order of 25 boxes sandwiches for a work event and they were more than happy to help make it happen-by 10:30 a.m.!!! Jersey Mike's is consistently good. This is my first time at this location. Service was friendly and efficient. I was surprised that it was not too crowded at lunchtime on Thursday, August 24, 2023. I had a regular size of with turkey and cheddar, and all the trimmings. It was delicious. Prices here are not cheap, but you definitely get what you pay for. I really like the subs here, and I am strictly dine/order-in since I don't know when my lunch time will be. However, this location gets behind the 8-ball VERY quickly with online and catering orders. On Monday (around 11:30am), when I got there, there were 8 people in line waiting to order. I heard two complete songs play on the speakers overhead (total of ~9min) and they had barely moved one customer through the line. This location is ALWAYS like this, sometimes, it's not this bad, but it's usually bad. If you're in a rush, don't come here. They should just give up on dine-in customers and focus on their online and catering business. read more

Covid-19 update. Great food at this Rosecrans location. I was in there first thing this morning. The interior is spotlessly clean. All of the workers are masked and wearing gloves. I ordered the Italian sub and the Kahuna. They were both deliciously made to order. The Italian sub was layered with plenty of meat, cheese, and my choice of veggies on a fresh white torpedo roll. The Kahuna I purchased for a city worker who happened to be sitting in the parking lot. Yes, city workers need love during this time too. I didn't stick around to see how it he enjoyed the sandwich. I'm certain employees are grateful for the business. In times like this when most food is purchased for deliveries, the hum of customer interaction along with the lack of tips certainly changes things up a bit. I've been here a few times. Each time I go my sub is prepared correctly and is very tasty. However I see them preparing it on the dirty bare counter. The employees seem very nice but this place is a dirty mess. The tables never seem to be cleaned. Full of grease, crumbs, and who knows what else! The doors and windows are full of grease I could barely bring myself to touch the door without holding a napkin to it. The restroom was also awful. Id say this is the dirtiest Jersey Mikes in San Diego. I've been to many other locations and they have never been even close to being as dirty as this one. With increasing prices and the health risk I don't think that I will be returning, unfortunately. read more

Jersey Mike's team members always impress me with the service the provide. I visit a few chains that are excellent at this including Jersey Mike's. It's nice that they provide very good food that is delays fresh. If something isn't right, they will make it right. I find myself traveling more for my company and find that many restaurants and retailers have lost they great customer service they all of us love but not here. Cold sandwiches are elite and forever goated. But their hot sandwiches are extremely weak and skimpy on the meat.

I ordered a chicken philly cheese steak. Whatever this dried out shredded meat was did not taste like chicken. It was like chicken scraps gathered together that sat on grill too long. They Forgot onions and I almost thought they forgot the cheese until I opened after 4 bites with no cheese. Then found some at the bottom. $12 plus tip ... 4 bites...zero appetizing. Do better JM. I walked in without any customers in the store, however everyone was so busy making sandwiches for invisible customers I had to wait to pay and order...poor cashier was bouncing back from making sandwiches to mobile to cashier. One person 3 jobs ...this corporation squeezed these employees to a confused sweat. I'm tired of corporations begging their customers to compensate their crappy wages and awful food with a forced tip. Stars are for employees trying to keep up. I have a weird love for Jersey Mike's. There's something about getting a sub "Mike's Way" that is so satisfying. That mix of oil and vinegar and herbs is just amazing. My go to is the Italian. I do often wonder about the cleanliness of this concept though. Like that slicer cuts all sorts of meats and cheese, but does it get cleaned? I have visited this location numerous times and the customer service is absolutely excellent. The food is great and the store is clean and well presented. Genuine customer service has become a rare commodity and the staff at this location stand out as the exception. I believe who I assume is their store supervisor (he is typically there when I have visited) is largely responsible for the great experience offered here. The cafe' was busy, and the grill appeared closed, but my order was taken and prepared as ordered. Once again an excellent sandwich. Pricey, but worth it. Unfortunately, and the reason for the 3 stars, the customer area was filthy. The main door is damaged, windows smeared, tables, chairs, and floor appeared unwiped and/or mopped for days or longer. I assume the cooking line is clean, or the Health department would take action. Very disappointing. In a food service business, cleaning is job one. Come in early, stay late, and make the restaurant shine. Keep it that way always. Nothing to do? Clean something. read more

I came to this jersey mikes this morning for a sandwich and didn't realize that I got there the moment they opened. I sat in my car for a few minutes to give them some time to open before going in because I've always felt like it's kind of weird and pushy to go inside the moment a place unlocks the door! Well, To my surprise, I walked in and noticed that there was already someone in line. I thought it was Hagrid at first but upon closer inspection, it actually ended up being a KAREN!! In which case, I will refer to it as Kagrid in this review. Overall, the food was great like always and the store was very clean, but I want to give a shoutout to the employees and their ability to handle rough customers. Kagrid was incredibly rude and snappy for literally no reason. She kept changing her mind about what she wanted and was demanding them to do this and do that, but not THIS way and not THAT way. She watched their every move while complaining the whole time and asking if each ingredient was fresh or not. She was just being mean and difficult. Though I could feel the tension, the employees still were very kind to Kagrid. I could tell they were irritated but still kept their composure and treated Kagrid with the respect she didn't deserve. You don't find this often when it comes to customer service so this was a very good look for this store. I appreciate the fact that they still were professional and it made me want to return even more. I hope that was the last Kagrid to step foot in your store because you deserve much more than that! I like this sandwich spot because they offer fresh not overly processed sliced cheeses and deli meats. The parking is average. It can be hectic at times especially since it's located in a busy plaza. You can experience long lines and longer than normal wait times during the morning rush. This location is clean inside and outside. The staff is customer service oriented and sociable. The subs are costly especially since there bread to meat ratio is 3:1. 1 being no meat. The lettuce and tomatoes looked moderately fresh. Yet, the tomatoes were overly ripped and mussy. Try your sub the "mike's way" to add an additional flavor profile. The bread was incredibly soft and tasted freshly baked. Definitely sign up for the rewards program because you earn points on every purchase, which can equal to a free sub. read more
