This Jersey Mike's is comically bad. Like genuinely every aspect of it was pitiful. They had 8 employees behind the counter but it still took them 20 minutes to get through a four person line, my sandwich was put together super sloppily and they skimped on the turkey, the counters were gross, they straight up forgot to ask the person in front of me for his order so he had to move behind me in line, there was a guy waiting 15 minutes past when his online order was supposed to be ready, even the way they wrapped my sub was sloppy and it was spilling out into the bag. I gave the guy standing next to me at checkout a look and we both burst out laughing without having to say a word. I genuinely love Jersey Mike's, but I'd rather drive twice as far to get to the next closest location than come back to this one. read more

First impression when walking in was the place didn't seem to be running smoothly. They had one guy on the stove making the hot subs and 3 making cold subs. Place an order that estimated a ready by 8:07pm time so rushed a little to get there so it would still be warm at home. There appeared to be 4 hot subs ordered online in front which filled the little grill they had so the wait was a bit longer than the estimated time. Had a free regular sub deal so added a gluten free bread to the order to see how it tastes. The food was decent but there's just no substituting good ol' flour bread for texture! The chicken, by the way, gets thrown on the grill as a frozen slab (a few thin slices) then chopped up when it gets thawed. I typically get a cold sub but when it's free why not try something else, right? I'm not sure if it's just the hot sub or the location's way of making it but the cold sub I usually get is much better. Bottom line is I think they're not quite caught up on their processes with the influx of online orders yet so don't always believe the app estimate. I stop by Jersey Mike's pretty often because it's convenient and close to where I live. Usually service is pretty quick, definitely more focused on efficiency than anything else. It seems like they've just gotten some new staff which really saved the ranking of this review. Newer staff acknowledge and greet customers and are composed, even when they're swamped. The food is pretty standard of what you'd expect from a sandwich shop and even though I've never sat down to eat, there's always plenty of seating inside and it's usually clean and comfortable. read more

I went here today for lunch. I will say normally I have good service no issues. Today was different. I will start by saying the slicer looked like it had not been cleaned all day. It was so built up meat on there then the counter was full of bread crumbs and lettuce. I asked them to wipe it off. The lady behind me ordered she then said I am allergic to fish and the person before got tuna so please make sure you don't cross contamination. They had to remake her sandwich twice due to cross contamination. Then I ordered two sandwiches one was hot and had lettuce and tomato on the side yep never received it. It's been awhile since I've been to a JM's shop. It'll be awhile before I return. A sandwich I got last year went up in price by 20%. Well outside the bounds of inflation. $10 for a "salad sub with cheese" (as I call the #14) is insanely not worth it. I went to the Sassool up the road and got a falafel pita sandwich for about $4. JM's food here tastes the same as every other shop, and offers the same experience. "The food is okay, the guys behind the counter sure are nice to look at, and yes... my table has crumbs all over it and there are no towels in the bathroom." There was a national promotion and the Creedmore location disabled taking online orders--which at least is better than what they've often done, accept orders but remove everything from the menu. The app sent my order to this Falls of Neuse location and it went well. The sandwiches were ready in about 15 min and made properly. As far as a sub shop and other Jersey Mike's locations go this one is, by far, the best I've been to. The menu is the menu and if you've seen it at one Jersey Mike's you've seen them all. The staff, not skimping on toppings or meat, and the efficiency and friendliness of the staff. The place is clean too. With huge phone-in orders, a line of cars surrounding the building for the drive-thru, they were a well-oiled production machine and smiled all the time. Well run and well done. read more

I feel part of the success of a fast food restaurant is how well they operate during the busy times. I'm pleased to report that this Jersey Mike's Subs did very well during my lunch visit. (around 12:30 pm for a Monday) My guest ordered the Chicken Caesar wrap (grilled chicken, lettuce, shredded cheese and ranch) and I order the regular sized meatball sub. The staff was efficiently and politely keeping the line moving and having food ready when we reached the register. I enjoyed the meatball sub. The regular sized sub was plenty for a lunch meal. Good marina sauce and plenty of meatballs. My guest liked the taste of the Chicken Caesar wrap, but thought it was heavy on the lettuce and lacking a bit on the chicken. Noticed the employee taking the orders knew a lot of folks in the line and was good at greeting them without stopping the production line to chat. While the end product sandwich was fine, the process to get a sandwich left me wondering if I should be eating there at all. I've never seen a Jerseys Mike's that was so unclean. The slicer looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day (this was 1:45 pm), it was absolutely disgusting. And they would leave it on even when nothing was being sliced which slung bits of meat and cheese everywhere. The lack of proper cleaning protocols carried across to the rest of the process as they had at least a dozen subs / wraps stacked on top of the counter, many overlapping and all with their receipt on top. They clearly take way more online orders than they can handle, so while there was only two people in front of me in line in person, there were 15+ sandwiches in front of mine. The floors were dirty, the drink area obviously hadn't been wiped down in hours, the trashcan was overflowing. It seems to not be the employees' issue. It's that there are too many orders, not enough employees and poor management. I usually like Jersey Mike's but I will never return to this location unless the management changes or steps up. I'm a Jersey Girl who niow lives in slightly cosmopolitan southern world. I know I'm NOT going to get an authentic sub that I'm use to down here but sometimes Jersey Mike's satisfies that craving. I like this location because I shop at the Harris Teeter, get my coffee at the Starbucks and can take me a sub home if I'm in the mood. The staff is usually nice. Getting to the incident, it was the 4th of July and I had worked eight days straight 92 hrs. and it was the 4th of July!!! After work I decided I'd grab a sub since the entire family was away for the holiday and I wouldn't have to cook. It was exactly 8;25 pm when got out of my car and I walked into an empty restaurant. I wanted a Philly and they were already cleaning the grill. When I was asked by the cashier what I wanted because the cook didn't even acknowledge me or look my way were you place your order, I was told, " we clean the grill at 8:30pm". I looked at my phone and by then it was 8:26pm. I could've made a stink but I just said, " never mind, thanks". It was actually for the best because I went over to Penn Station across the street and had a delicious Philly. The customer service definitely needs to be better and if the rule is not grilled sandwiches after 8:30pm then it should be followed!!! read more

I used to go to this Jersey Mikes once per week. Then the quality started to drop and I quit. After almost a year, I was in a hurry and I thought I would try them again. Big mistake. After ordering online (so as to skip the line), I still had to wait about 30min and my order was incorrect. You hear a melodies of welcomes and hellos as you enter the door. Not to mention everyone is smiling and even asks about your day. I can't tell you about the food choices because ive only ever had the Italian sub with bacon. OK Jersey Mikes got me with the free regular size sub of my choice and 22 Oz drink all complimentary on your actual birthday. Came in at lunch time, very crowded but the staff moved thru line at nice pace. I asked the employee to please make my sandwich with love because it was my birthday and he assured me that all the sandwiches are made that way. I ordered the classic cheesesteak but with grilled mushrooms added. Because the sandwich was one that required cooking, I had a brief wait. I enjoyed the taste of my sandwich and it was messy in the sense of too much mayo etc but I don't mind that. My 4 stars is for the taste of the sweet tea..did not like , so went ahead and had soda. And for the cleanliness in the dining room area. I'm assuming because of the lunch hr rush all efforts were towards sandwich making and not cleaning the dining room.
