$10.50 for a "lettuce sandwich" -- very disappointing I've been a Jersey Mike's customer for over 40 years, and I've always liked the brand, which is why this experience is so disappointing. This is now the second time in two months that I've ordered a half turkey sub and received what is essentially a lettuce sandwich with a few razor-thin slices of turkey. The sandwich in the attached photo cost $10.50, and it's almost entirely shredded lettuce and tomato with just a few very thin pieces of meat and cheese. For that price, the sandwich should actually contain turkey -- not just filler. After four decades of being a customer, this is honestly pretty shocking to see. The quality and portion here are nowhere close to what Jersey Mike's used to serve. I'm posting this because management should really take a look at what's being served. Customers expect better than this. Shame on Jersey Mike in Fernandina. We won't be back. Two times and two months, the same lack of quality and quantity. When I walked in I was greeted with an underwhelming welcome. The staff then proceeded to mess up my bread selection. The place was clean so that part was not a worry. I love jersey mikes, but on Friday March 19th, 6pm-7 I tried to call for a very simple change to a sub. I literally just want to have it mikes way but the app didn't allow that option while ordering. First nobody answered, then finally I was on hold for over 20 min. At that point I figured they must have forgotten about me. I tried calling back repeatedly and nobody will answer I have called about 20 times literally. So easy to answer and add lettuce and tomato to my sub. Yet whoever is working g cannot handle this simple task even a child could do this. Please if the owner or manager reads this at all please fire whoever is responsible for the phone, and customer during this time. It's frankly sad. Went to the Jersey Mike's on Amelia Island on 9/7/2022 and ordered a regular steak and cheese. I started eating and noticed that their was not the normal amount of steak, it was basically paper thin. As a loyal customer, it was not what I had in the past. In the past, the steak was pouring out of the bread. If they instituted portion control they lost me as a customer. Every time I come in here, I always have problems. Today I went in and the AC seemed to be out... It was 90 degrees inside. As I went down the line, the meat cutter was incredibly dirty, and they do not put much meat on the subs here AT ALL. At other Jersey Mikes, their subs are way bigger. I don't understand what the point of a pick up order is if when you walk in to get it, they serve every person who walks in AFTER you and ignore you. It should not take an hour to get subs you made for a pick up order and watch 8 customers who walked in after you, walk out with their sandwiches while you sit there and are ignored by staff. Solid sub shop. The cheese steaks are good and the portions are reasonable for what you're paying. Management is friendly and I've never received bad customer service. Everybody working there seems really passionate about their work and I totally appreciate that. They have stiff competition from Publix less than a mile away, but there will definitely be people who choose JM over Publix for speed of service and because they prefer a different type of sub than than Publix sells. The bread is softer at JM but I wouldn't call it better. The meat is sliced fresh at both locations. It's really close competition. Publix has more meats and cheeses but JM is more focused and therefore more efficient. Between the two you really have to decide if you prefer selection or speed of service because quality overall is similar. read more

I ordered online through the Jersey Mike's app. I was told that my order (2 regular subs; meatball and chipotle cheesesteak) would be ready by 6:51pm. I arrived at the specified Jersey Mike's at 6:58pm. Once I was acknowledged, it was by a black male who asked for the name of my order. He then asked if I would mind waiting another "10-15 minutes" because they had run out of bread and were baking more. I was not happy about the fact that a sub eatery was out of bread on a Saturday evening, especially that of a holiday weekend (both Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day), but I said nothing. The black male who worked there turned away from me to help another customer, so I walked out of the store to wait outside. I waked back into the store 12 minutes later and was told by another employee (a white female) I would have to wait another 15 minutes for the bread to cool. At this point, I was ready to leave the store. Since I placed the order via the app, however, I had already paid and was willing to wait for the bread in order to receive the sandwiches I ordered. I did wait another 15 minutes with no complaints. Next, the black male came back to the counter to inform me that the store was out of meatballs and to ask me what else he could get for me. At this point, I had waited WELL beyond the time that my order was promised. I asked the gentleman why he did not inform me 30+ minutes earlier that the meatballs were no longer available because I could have changed my order or canceled my order at that point. I asked why he did not tell me earlier and he claimed that it was not his fault and he walked away from me to attend to the grill top. I then asked what we could do to resolve this issue and he claimed that I was yelling at him (I was most certainly not yelling, nor was I rude). He refused to acknowledge me after that. Luckily, there was a manager on hand at that point, who witnessed the poor interaction between me and the black male and tried to resolve the issue. The manager refunded my money, since I was not able to take the subs that I had purchased. I encouraged the manager to speak with and address the lack of communication, lack of care/empathy, and lack of customer service with his black male employee and he ensured me that he would. I will never return to Jersey Mike's, especially if people like the black male I encountered is an employee/representative of this company. read more
