The booth was comfortable and relaxing in that Eat n' Park way. I got the fish sandwich with salad bar as my side. Grabbed a salad but there were no Super Bowls. I asked Nathan if he could maybe have some sent out. About 20 minutes into our dinner soup bowls were brought out, all room temperature. All there were watery and tasteless. The chili, chicken noodle and potato soup each were not worth eating (on this my wife and I agreed). The fish sandwich looked amazing but had that odd flour like undercoating. I had a footlong chili cheese dog and some popcorn shrimp, which were fried nicely. Our family also liked the spinach salad with bacon and fresh berries, the patty melt, the meatball hoagie, and the macaroni bites. The 5-scoop sampler of 5 "mini" scoops was VERY generous in portion size--definitely could be shared among 2+ people. As an avid ice cream afficianado, I was a little sad I couldn't finish it all by myself, but the flavors I chose were all excellent. The dog liked his Grizz sundae too. The staff were all very friendly and polite. The wait time for the food was reasonable, and our order was correct. At the moment, they are only serving food + ice cream during the weekdays, and closing is 8pm. On weekends they only serve ice cream. There is outdoor seating, and they also have a drive-through. We were the only ones there for dinner around 7:30, but we did see 3-4 cars using the drive-through while we were there. One thing that is pretty unique here, which I think might be a regional thing, is an ice cream flavor called Teaberry. It tastes a bit like one of those after-dinner soft pillow mints--very bizarre, but worth a taste!

I think any Burger King probably tops out at 4 stars. Some, like Gretchen R. might say three, but…read moreon my visit I was able to successfully get a frozen Coke. That has to be worth at least one bonus star, no? Really, this review is a public service review for anyone driving on Route 80 through Pennsylvania and is looking for quick inexpensive road food in and around Dubois, PA. That's what we were doing, and I thought it might be fun to finally try an Impossible Whopper. I had not been to a Burger King in at least five years, probably more. In fact, I have probably only walked through the doors of a BK three time in the last 20 years. The only positive experience I had with the chain was when I was a child many many decades ago. But at the time, I loved it. Well, I can say the Impossible Whopper has redeemed the chain. The Whopper, for me, has always been about the toppings, and since the decline of the BK beef burger patty. Now with this newly formulated non meat version, the taste of my childhood is back. Complete with those strange onion rings of ancient memory and now apparently a frozen Coke? Overall, the food was significantly better than expected. I was surprised by how sweet they now make the Whopper bun and wonder if it was always that way. The service was friendly, polite, and efficient. The restaurant itself was clean, and so were the bathrooms, which is important when you are on the road and driving through the Keystone State.
