Walked out. Im not one of those people who expect service workers to be happy little robots but there is some expectation of putting at least some effort into your job.. there was no line so I walked up and nobody looked up from what they were doing then a few moments later someone walks out the back and announces to the ether "be with you in a minute." I ask "are you talking to me?" Still no eye contact but yeah he says he is talking to me. Then proceeds to most lethargically clean a counter with red wine oil tubs on it again ignoring me and with the two other people going on as if they are npcs in a game and are specifically programmed to make sandwiches and nothing else. My wife and I stopped in at Jersey Mike's Subs to get a take out order. We were both hungry for a real Italian hoagie so we got the "giant" size and split it. It was so good. Lots of different meats with cheese, lettuce, tomato and onions. The bun was very good as well, making the hoagie taste even better. I forgot to get pics once we got it home to eat. Just too hungry I guess. The deli person that waited on us was super friendly and very helpful. Sorry I didn't get his name cuz I'd give him a shout out. We will be back as we want to try the cheesesteak hoagie. Being from Philly and Jersey Mike's Bear there, we are looking forward to another great meal! read more

I'm from Philadelphia and grew up at the Jersey Shore in the summer. It truly is hard to replicate the "hoagie" style sub sandwiches I grew up on. I definitely wouldn't consider going here if I wasn't in Asheville working. My first time and I am blown away. For a franchised chain, this place crushes. Started again as frequent customer, but when just in store an hour ago two employees had scarf and gaiter masks which CDC and all experts say do not block spreading Covid-19, and now masks have been found to help prevent our catching Covid-19 with masks on. Asked for owner, and when not there, asked for phone number. Manager called owner and response was go online and submit my complaint. Hah. Came in to pick up a few subs today. There was no line when I came in and I had to wait like 15 minutes for 2 cold subs. Meanwhile a woman came in and her order wasn't ready even though she said she ordered 20 minutes earlier and they said it was a 5 minute wait and it still wasn't ready for her (when we walked in all the employees were just standing around and talking). Franchise management needs to get involved. Horrible flow. I watched the staff fumble orders and continue to take orders with 5 people queued up ready to pay. My hot sandwich was cold before I could sit down. No ice so drinks were lukewarm. Chicken Parmesan tasted old. Bread was gummy and sandwiches were DROWNED in vinegar and oil. This privilege cost $22. Always have nice servers / sandwich makers, which makes the experience enjoyable. I've never sat down to eat there, but I always do carry out, and leave with a bag that feels to be about five pounds with a sub for myself and family ( three subs ). For the price you pay, you get huge subs, so it's a good price for quality and size. They are NOT chintzy with their toppings, either! They put as much mayo and lettuce and any other topping on as you need, and with a smile. I've never had one bad experience there! read more

This location was voted Best of Asheville for 2012-2013. Everything I've ever got here has always been fresh. The employees are always nice and personable. I personally go here so much that when I walk in they already know what I'm going to order and sometimes have already started making my sub-sandwich before I even enter the place! Ok this jersey mikes is one of, if not, the best I've been to. I really like jersey mikes lol. Haven't even had the sandwich yet and I just had to come on here and talk about it. John was amazing. People can be lazy and uncaring when it comes to making a good sandwich. He was not one of those people. He was effortlessly cool and nice all at the same time. A regular go-to for a quick & tasty lunch. Recommend trying sub "Mike's Way" at least once! Not as many veggie choices when compared to Subway, but it is really about the meats. Just placed an order over the phone for pick up. Ordered an Italian hoagie and asked for oil, vinegar and oregano, not mayonnaise like they put on it the last time. We get home and the hoagie has no lettuce, tomato or onions. I call to speak to the manager who is in fact the same voice we ordered from on the phone, and I told her what was missing. She said and I quote...."you didn't say Mike's way"........Are you kidding me? We've ordered Italian hoagies before and NEVER said Mike's way. They are from Jersey and they know an Italian comes with lettuce, tomato and onions. Never again will I go back to this particular establishment. If we needed to say Mike's Way then she should have informed us of that option as the manager. You know, let's blame this on the customer........it wasn't the manager's fault right? Nobody takes responsibility for anything anymore. She did offer to remake the sandwich if we brought it back.....nope, live too far away to do that. read more
