First visit was OK. This time, not so.
My husband and I each ordered a Philly.
Husband's is out in about 5 minutes.
Twenty minutes later, after watching multiple sandwiches and Phillys go out to in-store customers and Dashers that arrived after us, I ask about mine.
The owner is immediately *aggressive* and on the *defensive* and raising his voice at me.
I literally just asked about the status of my sandwich and this guy jumps down my throat.
He says he'll give me a refund, and I tell him I just want to know when the sandwich will be ready, to which he replies that he can't tell me, they're busy (this was post lunch rush and there were only a few customers).
Mine finally comes up during this interaction and gets handed to another customer who states it should have been a giant, not a regular size. This causes a flurry of confusion with the staff and the owner grabs it and hands it to me. Thanks.
A few minutes later, the owner comes by, apologizes and gives me a $20 gift card.
I just checked the gift card on line. It's invalid. Jerk.
I'll also note that this place was not as clean as it was on the first visit. Our Phillys were full of dry crumbs of meat from the grill. There was a half inch of mixed meat and cheese debris on the bottom of the slicer and the prep table was smeared with condiments.
There are two other Jersey Mike's within the same distance and I 'll just be going to them from now on. read more
