Jerry's Flower Shoppe - Florists Near Me - Carbondale, Illinois

Very poor customer service, I ordered flowers through FTD and this florist did not fill the order as pictured, the bouquet was to have 12 long stem roses and small whit flowers with a red bow on the vase, they sent an arrangement with only 8 roses and tons of baby's breath and no bow, when I called the florist to ask why they didn't fill the order as shown in the FTD picture catalog they told me that their cost for that arrangement would have cost more to send the 12 roses and that they are not going to correct the arrangement, I paid $75 for this arrangement and 12 roses should have easily been achieved, white flowers and a bow....really! This issue should be between FTD and their contracted florists, a florist should not sign up with big floral companies is they are not up for the task. These guys knocked it out of the park with a recent flower order. It's always risky when you're ordering from out of town. I'm in Denver, and it was a close friend's birthday in Carbondale and I wanted to send something special and lovely, not something that looked like it came from the grocery store. In our phone conversation, I explained what I wanted and didn't want . . . but I was kind of general about it. Somehow they picked up on what I was saying and delivered a fantastic bouquet of beautiful flowers that was exactly what I wanted and hoped for. My friend sent me a picture and I was just thrilled. More important, SHE was thrilled, and actually called me in tears to say how beautiful the flowers were. I can't thank Jerry's enough for coming through the way they did or recommend them more highly. Describe what you want . . . and they will deliver!!! read more

Speedy delivery! I ordered flowers for a friend of mine that works at SIU and they delivered within the next hour! The roses looked great from the picture my friend sent back to me. The cost is reasonable and what one would expect from a flower shop. Would recommend! read more

Jerry has done a lovely job on flowers for me on two occasions, one impromptu in-store purchase and one phone order for a birthday delivery. Both times the service was as exceptional as the flowers. It's true that I balked a bit at the prices (in a past life I got spoiled with my local florist's ridiculously low rates) but let me say this: IT IS WORTH IT! My husband sent me photos of the birthday delivery bouquet when it arrived--lovely--and 6 days later--still lovely! Does that mean they were especially fresh to begin with? Or does Jerry wave a magic wand over them before sending them out with the accommodating and polite driver? It may never be known... But what's sure is that I am hooked on Jerry's flowers! read more

Jerry's Flower Shoppe - After 6 days, still beautiful! "Teleflora's Elegant Beauty - Standard" ($52.95 + $6 delivery) - Florists Near Me - Carbondale, Illinois

I used to love this flower shop, they do send beautiful arrangements. That is something you can't deny. However, the customer service I received was appalling. When you order something from the Jerry's Flower Shoppe website and it's not available because they don't carry it, doesn't make any sense to me. On top of that to receive a phone call and get responses such as "well I don't know what to tell you," and "there's nothing I can do." Wow! People when you are in customer service you should know how to deal with these situations. For example, say I apologize for the inconvenience what can I do to assist you? This was supposed to be for my father and now I will be doing something else for him. But thanks for nothing Jerry's! Will not be returning. read more

What a great place! My wife is not feeling well while on her vacation in Carbondale (we live in Austin) and I wanted to send her some flowers. I was about to purchase some flowers through 1800flowers or something similar but remembered to check Yelp, and I was glad I did. Those big places had a lot of nasty reviews. I decided that really, there is NO reason not to call a local flower shop, especially with Yelp as a resource. I don't know her name, but the woman I talked to was very helpful, especially for a man with almost no knowledge of flowers. Basically, I picked a price, $50 sounded like a good number, and she hit up my credit card and started cutting up some flowers right away. At first I expected her to have some options, like "you can get a 20 oz green vase with 5 roses, a couple tulips and a yadayada for $44.95" but she informed me after some silence on my end that there were no "boxed" deals. I was glad about that. I'm no flower expert, but SHE is, so I was happy to let her do the picking. She got the flowers to my wife in about 2 hours time from our phone call. I couldn't be happier; the arrangement was wonderful. And NO assembly required like 1800flowers. Why would I send my sick wife a box of flowers that needed to be trimmed and arranged by hand? I PAID for that. And it was CHEAPER this way! read more

Jerry's Flowers just completed our wedding and did a wonderful job. They were attentive, customized selections to fit in our budget, were very easy to work with, and completed a wonderful end product. They even offer delivery and set up which made it so we didn't have to do a thing concerning the flowers on our big day. I was very impressed with our bridal party bouquets and the centerpieces we ordered. They even added in special peacock feathers to go with our theme to all of our flower arrangements. Again, the end result was great and we had no issues at all with the flowers for the wedding. I would recommend Jerry's to anyone looking to have flowers done in the C'dale area. Great service and a wonderful result. read more

Sent the wrong flowers to my recipient on the wrong day. After calling this store the woman said everything to me except that they would get my recipient the right flowers. You would think they would update their online site with accurate information about which bouquets are in stock fully, because these are purchases over $65 regularly that would make a great deal of difference to the customer when they spend that amount or greater only to get an entirely different order. I would not recommend this shop to someone else after something like this. At least the wrong flowers looked passable. read more

I live in Chicago area and ordered flowers to be sent to my cousin that was in the hospital in Carbondale. My family had always spoken highly of Jerry's. I spent a lot of money and was very specific on the flowers I wanted - bright spring flowers to brighten her day. The next day my cousin was not doing well, so I decided to come see her. When I arrived, there was a VERY small arrangement with a few red roses and baby's breath. There were none of the flowers I had requested. When I called to tell them they must have sent the wrong arrangement, they said they had not. I told them what it looked like and what I had ordered and Jerry said he must have misunderstood me! Really? He said what do you want me to now? I said send the right arrangement this time - and reminded him I was in Carbondale and would see it! I will never use this florist again. read more

I had ordered flowers for a birthday for a family member ordered. I was called and informed that they don't deliver to a local town around them. I told them that they really should put specific delivery instructions on where they deliver to within their website before completing an order and was dismissed and not acknowledged when I stated this. She said that I can just try another shop. I grew up in the area and tried to support a local business but this is crazy and will likely go with a national brand over a mom and pop type store for this now. read more

My sister and I ordered flowers for my mother's birthday. I Asked for a $75 bouquet similar to the arrangements on the store's website. At that price point, they all include a dozen roses and an assortment of other flowers. I specifically asked for roses and delphinium--not lilies. She received a much smaller arrangement of 5 roses, 6 lilies and baby's breath. When I called, the florist told me they had used lilies that were $10 a stem so fewer roses and that the website was "deceiving." When we pushed that this was not what we'd paid for and not an acceptable way to do business, the florist said "over and out" and hung up. Posting photos of what we ordered next to what we received--it's laughable. read more

Jerry's Flower Shoppe - Comparable price point arrangement from website vs what we actually received. Florist admitted that their website is "deceiving." - Florists Near Me - Carbondale, Illinois

Jerry, you did it again! Our most recent order was spectacular. I have been doing business with Jerry's Flowers for over 25 years and have NEVER been disappointed. Once Jerry knows your style and design preferences, he remembers and delivers in a distinctive way. Reading some of the negative reviews can be very deceptive. Local flower shops can at times be caught without specific selections due to the challenges of unexpected large funerals, holidays, and events. Jerry's is a reliable, classy, and innovative choice for all your floral/decorative needs. Bravi! read more

I ordered flowers for my Mom online to be delivered on Feb 8th. I received a phone call from Jerry's the 8th late afternoon, stating they couldn't fill my order for the price on their website. The lady on the phone was rude and made no apologies for their false pricing on the website. I told her she should update their prices on the website if they weren't correct. She said it would take too much time to do. Beware buyer, I wouldn't use them ever again!!! Very dishonest business practice! read more

Ordered flowers for a funeral service that I wasn't able to attend. They must have seen me coming! I asked for something nice in the $75 range arranged in a basket. When I got a picture the arrangement was in a vase (ok whatever) but there were very little in the way of flowers and no way was worth 75 (plus $12 delivery charge). Very disappointed. Would not use them again. read more

I live in Austin Texas and My Dear Friends Mother Passed away and I came up for the funeral. I Had no idea who to contact about flowers. My Friend said she was using Jerry's Flower Shoppe but had not used them before either. So as soon as I got to town I went to the shop. I was impressed with the arrangements that I saw in the store. I had brought a Cross to put into the arrangement and asked the gentleman if he could recommend an arrangement that they could put the cross in. He said that he would let me talk to Jerry he was the expert. Jerry was very nice and helpful with picking out the flowers and I told him the look that I was wanting. I was still Worried how it would turn out since I had never used them before. I immediately thought when I saw them that I would be writing this comment. The Flowers were just perfect! I was so pleased and everyone else thought they was Beautiful also. THANK YOU JERRY FOR A BEAUTIFUL ARRANGEMENT FOR MY DEAR FRIENDS MOTHER EDDITH. read more
