I originally went to Jerry Alternator in March of this year (2 months ago) to get my alternator rebuilt. At the time my experience was fine. I was charged $250 to get my alternator rebuilt and it was done same day.
Since getting my alternator "rebuilt" at Jerry's about 2 months ago, my car broke down on the freeway three times. Every time completely losing power while driving and leaving me stranded on the side of the road.
The first time happened about 1 week and a half after getting rebuild. Everyone told me it was my alternator. I refused to accept it and would explain to everyone that I just had the alternator fixed and rebuilt. So instead I had the belt replaced. Then about a 3 weeks later it happened again. This time I had the alternator once again removed and taken to Jerry's to have them reinspect it. Jerry told me that everything was fine with the alternator, and it had to be another issue with my car. Possibly a short. So I had the alternator reinstalled. Then a week later my car broke down for the third time. Once again loosing all power while driving.
This time I towed my car to an G & S Auto Electric and Alternators in Los Angeles. I explained to them what's been going on with my car, and advised him that my alternator was rebuild about a month ago. About 2 hours later the electrician called me and said it was my alternator all along. When I went to pick up my car he explained to me that my alternator was never really "rebuilt". All the interior parts were original and never changed, and the pulley was also not working properly. He inspected my car, found the issue, removed my faulty alternator, provided a new alternator, and installed it, all for only $250!!!
I wish I would have came here since the beginning. Between all the tow fees every time my car broke down, missing work due to not having a car, paying a mechanic to remove and install my faulty alternator on 2 separate occasions, and paying Jerry Alternators to not properly rebuild my alternator, it cost me well over 3 grand. Would not recommend anyone to come here. read more
