Some of it was waterlogged so it weighed more than it should've (which didn't even occur to me) so I offered to pay more than he'd quoted since he'd make less profit after going to the dump. He refused and stuck to his original quote. Also, I don't know how he managed to fit everything in the back of his truck, but he did, tied it down well and covered it with a tarp so nothing would fly out while driving. He was super clear about taking it to the dump, so I know this stuff won't end up on the side of the road somewhere or dumped in the woods, too many people do that so they don't have to pay the dump fees. He worked quickly and was done loading in about a half hour. At least half of that time was spent rearranging stuff in the back of his truck so it would all fit and could be tied down. I'm holding onto his number! I will definitely use him again! Totally professional, courteous, and hardworking, I have only good things to say! If you need junk removal/construction debris removal, give him a shot, I only wish I'd found him sooner!

The asbestos removal went fine,…read morebut we also had Carlos' crew rebuild our ceiling with drywall, which necessitated moving our belongings from room to room to clear the space. They moved our things carelessly and caused a lot of damage. Every piece of our wood furniture was scratched with deep gashes, glass bottles were broken, and paintings were scratched. My wedding dress was thrown on the floor next to broken, leaking oil bottles. We have a number of lego sets that were thrown into a pile upside-down. It looked like a natural disaster had come through our apartment and it was devastating to see all of our belongings thrown around and damaged. The crew left staples in the walls and window sills and damaged a lot of our walls (see pictures). When I brought this up with Carlos, he tried to gaslight me, saying that all of the damage was preexisting and that the dust everywhere wasn't from his crew (it was obviously drywall dust). He ended up giving us a couple of hundred dollars off the price, but it was nothing compared to the thousands of dollars we've had to spend having our wood furniture refinished and hiring other contractors to fix the damage they caused to our walls. I called the 800 number on Nov. 3 and it was clear that it wasn't an office but some manner of call service that plugged me in with another individual. The gentleman was pleasant enough and said that a tech would call me before EOD. I received a TEXT from Abi, not a call, at 6:08 pm. I never had someone text me instructions about a potential home visit before but, as I'm desperate for repairs, I went with it despite my reluctance. I asked in the text to have the tech please share their license and credentials. I don't know these people. I just needed to know who I'm letting into my home. I received a call from a gentleman I assumed to be the owner or operator who took umbrage at me asking for the credentials of the tech, and proceeded to call it "weird" (that is the word he used) that I'd ask since, and I quote, "all we're doing is an estimate." I don't care if you were building the Ark of the Covenant divined by God himself, I am not letting someone in my home without knowing fully who they are. Call it paranoia, call it weird as that person did, but they can take that attitude and go the other way. I'll find someone else.
