Arno Kauth of Emerald Pools was referred to us by a local (Marmora, NJ) pool service company. We…read moresigned a contract in July, 2024 for a job that he said would take 2 weeks to complete. He said that he could not start until September 6, to which we agreed. Arno said that the pool needed to be completely drained, so we did that. He was paid 50% ($8350) as agreed upon. He tore up the concrete around our pool area and replaced the inner tile. Arno often told us of his 30+ years in the business, but he sent someone with no experience to finish the tile. When we complained, he removed the incorrectly mounted tile at our expense of tiles. When Arno finished the next phase, we paid him 25%, (($4125) per our contract. That took us into late October. We tried phoning and texting him from November to tell him of the excellent weather to complete the job, but never received a reply. There are drips of glue inside the pool which he said he would clean up. Our yard is littered with concrete debris and the frames he made are walking hazards. Arno also separated our deck from its frame, which Arno promised that he would repair. In June, we received a text from his wife Geri Kauth, explaining that he has been busy working on other pools (Yes, he took on other jobs while ignoring us.) and would be return to complete the job in July, 2025. Had he done that, we would not be warning others of Arno Kauth and Emerald Pools. He did not contact us and continued to avoid communication. (Yes, took on other jobs.) Arno Kauth took $12,375, tore up part of our yard and left a mess and an empty pool. All of this started one year and 3 weeks ago for a job that was supposed to take about 2 weeks. In our church prayer group during April, I've asked for Arno Kauth to contact us and complete our job. We are in our 70's. He ruined our summer with children and grandchildren. If you are still not convinced, do a little research and you'll find that he had previous pool businesses with different names in the Camden and Gloucester areas. If you are looking for someone to install or service your pool, go to another company on your list. Arno Kauth is a con man!

After giving Mr. Kauth a deposit of $30,000.00 he demolished our pool, at which point we gave him another $40,000.00 as per our contract. That was in November 2022. After that we were barely able to get a hold of him and when we did everything that came out of his mouth was a lie. We have not heard from him for months and he no longer responds to any of our calls or texts. It is now almost two and a half years later, and instead of a swimming pool all we have been left with is a gaping hole in the ground that is filled with muddy water, unsightly weeds, wildlife and insects. After doing more research we have come to find out that Mr. Kauth has three different addresses, all of which he cannot be reached at, and an expired business license! Mr. Kauth has done nothing but lie and make promises that he never kept!! Emerald pools LLC misrepresented itself as a competent, knowledgeable and reliable contracting company and Mr. Kauth is nothing but a con man!!

Some didn't even come out just asked for photos and gave me a number back. I was starting to get worried until I got in contact with Divine Concrete. They came out the same day to look at the job. Gave me multiple options and a clear plan for the project. The cost was appropriate and they explained the reasoning behind it. Overall, they made the buying experience easy and I felt confident moving forward. Once work began, the staff and crew were very nice and respectful. They kept the worksite clean you wouldn't have thought a construction job was even happening. The steps were poured and completed on schedule. The railing took an extra day due to rain, but they kept me informed with text updates. Not a complaint, just a good example of clear communication and professionalism. The steps turned out exactly as I needed for a long-term rental property. For the record, they absolutely do higher-end work, but what impressed me most was that they listened. I asked for something simple and functional, and that's what they delivered. No upsells, no nonsense. 10 out of 10. Great job all around. When I called to discuss my expectations and concerns, he assumed I was a man and rudely said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought I was talking to a dude," after realizing I wasn't. We paid him an initial deposit of **$500**, but then he asked for an additional **$265** for "unforeseen equipment costs." After confirming a project date with us (set for today, 10/29/2024) just this past Sunday, he became unreachable for two days. When he finally responded, he claimed our appointment had been moved to **Friday, 11/01/2024** without consulting us. If we still wanted the agreed-upon date, the cost was suddenly **$200 more** which then jumped to **$300 extra**. Today, no one showed up. He has since blocked me, won't answer emails, and hasn't responded to calls from our office. Avoid Roc Steady LLC at all costs! This company is unprofessional, unreliable, and clearly does not value its clients. Save yourself the stress and find a more reputable provider.
