I was referred to Dr. Young by my dentist for a bothersome tooth that appeared to need a root canal. Being 38 weeks pregnant, it wasn't exactly ideal timing! Needless to say, I wasn't thrilled about going in to have this done as my entire body was already pretty uncomfortable. However, I immediately lost all reservations as I entered the office. The staff at the front desk were so warm and welcoming and got me into the back right away. The doctor's assistant, Monica, was an absolute doll and was so considerate about my comfort and genuinely wanted to get to the root of the issue (sorry, I had to) to relieve my pain immediately. I felt like we were old friends no more than a minute into my consultation. She helped to determine that my pain wasn't coming from where we thought, and together with the doctor, we all decided a quick route to beat the pain and get me through until after I delivered my baby. Their first concern was the baby's health as well as my comfort, and the stress that a procedure would've put on my body could've possibly sent me into early labor. No Bueno. I can't say enough good things about my experience- from the amazing staff, the compassionate Doctor and the cleanliness of the facility, everything was amazing. Heck, I probably would consider going into the dental field just to try getting a job there if I hadn't already established my career! If I lived in Grass Valley I would have the best Dentist around especially The Employee's that Dr.Jeremy Young, Has surrounded himself around. They are 2nd to None ...But I Don't,, I live in Lincoln and was referred to Dr . Young Thought it was a little far so I called around looking to find a Dentist that does IV sedation for a Root Canal that was hurting on a scale of 10. Every one I called didn't have the capability to do it and every single place I called gave me your phone number,,I even had another Dentist office tell me Dr Young Graduated at the Top of his class and Travels around Training other Dentist , we'll Holly S*#t looks like im Going to Grass Valley. From the first phone call I was impressed, I showed up for my appointment was seen Promptly, by a very knowledgeable young lady (Tricia, Monica,Sam All were Amazing) You WOULD of THOUGHT that the assistant were the dentist. The young lady that called my name , SHE WAS VERY knowledgeable. Guys I was beyond Nervous!!! I hate ROOT CANALS and she calmed me down , she changed my Antibiotics and pain meds,, Cause Nothing was working for 4 miserable day's,,, I woke up the next morning and noticed a change in my pain level. So I had my ROOT CANAL DONE TODAY!!! JUST LIKE THEY SAID I DIDN'T FEEL ANY PAIN , THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL FROM BEGINNING TO END, DR. I went to Dr. Young with an infection that he said required a root canal. He completed a root canal, the pain continued, the swelling returned, a cyst was formed, and he wanted to do another root canal though the gum because the first surgery failed. He said that he would only charge half price for the second surgery which was very painful. He then charged the full price and when I said I didn't think I should pay, he threatened with suing for the $1000 balance. I thought I should give the next unsuspecting dental patient fair warning. As a pt who has high anxiety where dental work comes in and a nurse .. I was one of "those" pts. However Dr Young's office was amazing in settling my fears, answering questions with patience and addressing concerns. From the first and subsequent calls, Sonya was terrific and went above and beyond and I will think of her fondly every month... The staff I met at the consultation and through to the staff during my procedure.. were friendly,warm and professional. The staff person who got me set up for the procedure was calming and reassuring.. Sorry, I can't recall her name, but preprocedure medication had kicked in. I had sedationIV/ nitrous and the combination worked great and I woke up ( more or less) feeling ok. It was the best experience I could have hoped for. If I find myself in need of endontic services again I will not hesitate to return. As a nurse ( always watching. I just had my root canal done at Dr. Jeremy Young's office yesterday. The staff there was amazing! I feel great just after one day. Loved it. I especially liked how the staff, and Dr. Young treated not only me, but my wife, and friends of mine. I didn't know what to expect going in. I had been to other dentist offices where the service was subpar, so I was really nervous. I had been to other dental offices that made me not ever want to see another dentist. This time I was referred by Dr. D. Takeoka, whom I must say has an amazing office and staff as well. I was blown away by the professionalism, the kindness the staff and Dr. Young displayed, and just the sheer ambiance the place had to offer. They explained each procedure delicately, and treated me with the utmost respect. They also called to check on me, and let me review all my options and answered any questions I might have had prior to the procedure. They have THE best hard working staff I've ever encountered in dentistry. Between them and Dr. Takeoka, they are getting me well, and for that I say GOD bless them all. Love this place! I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Young for a root canal procedure. I recently travelled 36 hours from Northern India to Grass Valley with a very painful and throbbing infected tooth. I called Dr. Young's office on the afternoon that I finally got home and he was able to see me the following morning. He and his staff are very professionally competent--and kind. From my initial contact with the receptionist on the phone, to the front desk when I checked in, to his assistant who explained all of the pre-treatment procedures and finally to Dr. Young himself who explained everything he was going to do in terms that I could understand, the entire experience was quite pleasant. In fact, it was so easy and painless i can hardly understand why the big deal is about root canal work. I assume that Dr. Young's careful attention to detail and his caring demeanor made this experience more than just bearable. read more

I was so nervous about getting a root canal. I think I gave myself an anxiety disorder over it. It was for a tooth in the way back left that no dentist could ever get numb. Dr. Young said that it might go more smoothly if I were sedated. He was pretty confident that he could get it numb, but I might be more at ease. So I kind of freaked out about the sedation. They gave me a pill to relax me the night before and 2 to take the morning of. They gave me IV sedation before the procedure, and I remember waking up a couple of times, but I didn't feel a thing for the procedure. When I came to, he showed me an xray of my root canal, and I went home. It felt a little weird for a couple weeks, and would twinge with some super minor pain. The tooth kind of felt hollow or something. All of those twinges and weird feelings resolved themselves and I can finally chew normally and comfortably on that back tooth.
