Hiring Jenny as our wedding photographer was one of the best vendor decisions my (now) husband and I made. I like to do my research when it comes to anything, so naturally, I had a long spreadsheet with lots of photographers within the NYC area. Jenny came highly recommended from friends (and friends of friends as well). I am very picky with pictures, always take a bazillion of them, and like to think that I have a good eye when it comes to photos. Picking a wedding photographer was probably one of the most important vendor decisions we had to make. We liked Jenny's style - it was natural without being overly dramatic, and she captured emotions and stories in her photos. Her photos were also clear and crisp, which was very important to us. From the beginning, we hit it off. Jenny is one of the most down-to-earth, warmest, and most approachable people I've ever met. We emailed back and forth online before setting up a call to run through all of my questions (which she patiently answered), and set up a time to meet in person before we signed with her. She showed us full sample albums and worked with our budget to come up with a package with exactly what we needed (two photographers for longer hours, engagement shoot, no printed albums, digital files and on USB). She texted back and forth with us to help us figure out locations and outfits for our engagement shoot. She made our visions for the shoot a reality (including our dog in the shoot, using a balloon as a prop).. and wrote the sweetest blog post highlighting our shoot. She helped us work through our wedding day timeline, kept me grounded to reality, and made sure we had enough time to get the photos in the locations that I wanted but not try to fit in so much that the day would become stressful and rushed. On the day of the wedding, she and her second shooter, Kayla(?), were prompt, professional, and amazing. Jenny captured so many amazing shots, a few of which were featured by the Conrad (where we had gotten ready for the wedding). It was a very busy day so I didn't get (or remember) every single shot I wanted (probably should've given her a shot wishlist), but still very happy with how everything turned out. We booked Jenny rather early in our wedding planning and once we chatted with her we knew immediately that she would be the perfect photographer for our big day. She exudes such a warm and outgoing personality that it was so easy to get along. She was so professional throughout the whole process. My husband and I are very awkward in photos and were a little shy before our engagement shoot. But once she started guiding us in where to look and what to do we were immediately at ease. She captured such gorgeous photos and even managed to take some photos of our dog. She doesn't like strangers but Jenny was a true animal whisperer. From all the bridal magazines she's being featured in, I don't even think Jenny needs another review. But I will anyway! My husband and I always say we wish we were guests at our own wedding because it was so much fun but it went by so fast and for the longest time after the big day we were just so bummed it was over. But it's been a year since the wedding and they've been shot in such a way that as I sift through the photos, I can't help but feel like I'm reliving the entire day as a guest and I find myself feeling giddy again. I booked Jenny way in advance because photography was the most important part of the many vendors I was booking. She called me to get to know me (or us as a couple) and to get a better understanding of what I wanted. To be honest I didn't know what I wanted, I just know I really loved her work. We were supposed to do an engagement photo shoot but between buying a new home and work and wedding stress, I couldn't find time to book it. But HIGHLY suggested (esp if you're not comfortable in front of a camera!).. I feel like it would make wedding day photos way easier and less awkward as you're used to her directions. The days before the wedding she would text me reminders of what I should have ready, go over the schedule, and asked if there was anything I needed (I asked for the Mrs ring boxes for the photos :D, thanks Jenny!) Come wedding day, everything went smoothly. I can get super uncomfortable and self conscious in front of a camera but Jenny is such a happy and friendly and chill person that I can relax and just do what she says. She is also VERY patient and knows when and how to appropriately speed up the process. Ex: my family, immediate and in-laws, wanted to take every photo combination possible and poor Jenny was being pulled every which way. When it was starting to take too long she'd remind us that it was time for first look shots, or getting shots, etc. and that we were on a time crunch. The photos came about 3(?) months later and we couldn't be happier. The only thing though is our first choice second photographer wasn't unavailable which was fine. However, the second photographers' photos came out a bit yellow and a lot of it needed adjusting, but that'd be our only complaint. Did I also mention she's patient?? We learned about Jenny Futography from a recent online coupon and decided to take a chance and have her take our "imminent arrival" photos. I'm glad we did! Jenny came to our home and immediately set us at ease. She's extremely personable, and in no time we started the photo shoot in the nursery. Lots of great background images, and an initial round of Mom and Dad photos. Next we packed up and headed to a nearby park for round two. Jenny took at least a hundred photos of us in various natural, casual positions around the park and was a great help at keeping us relaxed and feeling like this photo shoot was just a natural extension of our day...we were very impressed. If that wasn't enough, we then had a change of clothes, and did a third set of photos around a staged picnic. After a few days to allow for processing, we received some very nice prints, and a DVD with all of our pictures as completely useable full-resolution digital images with no watermarking or other weird artifacts. In the end we had an album full of amazing pictures, and had a great time to boot. We couldn't have been happier with the service Jenny provided and would recommend her to anyone looking for really wonderful professional photographs. She had never photographed our venue before, but the Metropolitan Building is truly a photographer's dream, and Jenny made sure we knew how excited she was to shoot us! Leading up to the big day, we confirmed details via phone and email and Jenny arrived early on my wedding day! She moved swiftly and always took charge, while also giving us space. My husband and I had our wedding at City Hall in Downtown. I definitely knew what kind of look I wanted for our pictures, but was having trouble finding a photographer that could fully meet our needs. Then, lucky for us, my husband found Jenny.
