It's my biggest pet peeve when you go somewhere that advertises a shellac manicure and they use gel-ish polish.... Not the same! I don't get my nails done on a regular basis but every time I do, I go there. It might be a little more than you're used to spending but just give them a try once and you will see why. They have all the colours and additives and can do amazing techniques to make your nails look spectacular. I checked out their Facebook page before I went there and you can see some pics of what they do.

I had never heard of It's All About Me but managed to get a same day appointment and gave it a try. I have heard horror stories about shellac removal and normally opt for regular polish but I was very happy with the service here. I couldn't remember what brand of shellac I had on (apparently some brands are easier to remove than others) so it took about 30 minutes, which apparently is longer than usual. But, that's because she didn't just scrape it off and ruin my nails. The woman who helped me took her time and was very patient and gentle. I would definitely go back for a regular manicure because of the good service. The prices are very reasonable for a downtown spa too.

Whether it is new lights or offering wine with a mani-pedi, Hot Nails has evolved since I started coming here 4 years ago. (And yes, they do have a liquor license so you can get wine while you get pampered!) The first thing I noticed about this place is how everyone says hello to the owner Peter like they are the best of friends. You can tell his customers are very loyal and love their work. I find the service is quick and pretty good. My nails come out perfect every time. I think I've only had one experience where I had to ask the girl to put another coat on my nails cause the polish was a bit thin. Not a huge deal at all, she was happy to oblige. Sometimes the service itself is a bit inconsistent, one time I got a scrub with my pedicure and other times I didn't, so I'm not sure what the logic is behind it. Overall if you are looking for a good, quick, and friendly place to get your nails done, check out Hot Nails on Wellington road. The longest I've ever had to wait is maybe 10 minutes. I've never had an issue walking in without an appointment. They also have a loyalty card, after so many visits you get a service 50% off.

They accommodated me and several others as walk-ins without any issue. I was very happy with my service, I had a shellac manicure with French tips and they look great. I didn't try them but they also had nice massage chairs in the pedicure area and you can have wine or champagne while having a service. The product lines were all natural as well which was very nice. Would definitely try this place again!

They took good…read morecare of me after I'd made quite a mess fiddling with pin curls, and tamed what was a complete mess into something rather elegant indeed. The place was well-designed, with manicures set up near the door, and a wall for privacy for people getting their hair done. The hair-washing bowls looked far more comfortable than the standard ones (being tall, I loathe scrunching down to fit in most of them), and there were private rooms to the back of the shop for spa treatments. Elena (I'm sorry if I got this wrong, I am terrible with names!) was a lot of fun to talk to, as well; it seems the art of conversation is something a lot of stylists have lost, but not her. She also gave me some good tips on how to manage my hair in future, things easily done at home. When I need a haircut or a style again, I am definitely going here.

I had gone to another cheaper nail salon and mentioned my ankle and they just ignored it entirely. The ladies at Chic are professional and accommodating. They take a lot of care to make sure you're comfortable and they do a great job. I haven't had hair services here, I mainly have gone for the Aveda Mani/Pedis, they are AMAZING (Lindsay & Meghan are awesome!), I've done the express mani/pedi as well, also great. I've had my brows waxed and a number of elemental facials, all fantastic experiences. The only thing I would say negatively, is that when you're in the back room for a facial, you can hear a lot going on in the salon, so it's not super 'peaceful', but it's still great! I would recommend this salon and spa (and have) to all my family and friends. (I do believe they accept walk-ins, but I always book in advance) - little tip - if you're interested in a Mani/Pedi go to the "Packages" tab on the website and book a "Basics" package, it's an extra couple bucks, but you get an eyebrow wax included. **Update** I have since had my hair styled here for my brothers wedding, they did a great job! I also had my makeup done, and it was done beautifully.

I live within a 5 minute walk, and this place is super affordable so there was no reason not to try this nail salon out. I came a little before they were closing, so all their staff was busy. I had to wait about 15 minutes, which was fine since I wasn't in a rush. Their UV gel nail refills are only $20, shellac polish on top for $10, and extensions for $5. Good prices, right? Plus, they even offer a $5 coupon for Western students (found in the Western guide) if your total is over $25. I always hate how gel refills don't include a manicure, but my sister told me a place in Markham (which I will review later) actually includes them. Oh well, guess I'll push those cuticles back myself before coming next time. The lady did a good job, but wasn't very detail-oriented. I'm a perfectionist and noticed that one of the nails wasn't filed straight. She fixed it upon me telling her, but I shouldn't have to do that; she should've noticed it herself. Otherwise, I'm satisfied and will definitely come back since it's well-priced and convenient.

I booked a mani pedi for my mom, sister and myself for 3pm on a Friday. It was the day before my…read moresister's wedding so I had booked it well in advance. We arrived at 3 and the place was packed. One of the women giving a manicure told us we could pick our colours so we did. We then stood around for a bit in the waiting area being ignored. Eventually I was able to flag someone down and told her we had an appointment. She said they were running behind and would be ready for us at 330. Around 320 we were seated in the pedicure chairs. At 340 someone came and started working on my sister. My mom and I we're still sitting there with our feet in the water. What's the point of us having a pedicure together if only one of us gets done at a time? At 350 someone came to my chair, eating a granola bar. Then for some reason she decided to start on my mom. At 4 (1 hour after my scheduled appointment time!) the woman who had been working on my sister started to work on my feet. After a couple of minutes another woman became free so she started working on me and the other woman went back to my sister. The staff kept getting up in the middle of our pedicures and doing other things. It was very distracting. Somehow when she was trimming my toes she ripped some skin around my big toe and it hurt a lot. She tried to say it was because of how my nails were growing but it didn't make sense. I get pedicures all the time and no one has ever had a problem trimming my nails. I thought at this point most salons had stopped using those razor blade things so I was surprised to see this place was using what looked like a metal cheese grater. I opted out of that. The staff themselves were very nice, but awkward and very disorganized. This is probably not their fault, it's the fault of management. On the plus side they did let us bring our own wine in and drink it. We left the salon at 530. It shouldn't take this long for a basic mani pedi. I got a French manicure and it was very crooked. Overall the experience was not at all relaxing or comfortable. It was supposed to be fun and relaxing for us before the wedding and instead it just added stress to our day bc it took so long and got us off schedule. I will definitely not return here and do not recommend this place. It's now been two days since I got the pedicure and my feet are cracked and sore, much worse than before I got the pedicure.

I went here to get my acrylic overlay removed and a shellac manicure. When the lady was cutting my…read morenails, she asked me if I wanted them shorter, so I said yes. She proceeded to cut them super short, to the point where it hurt. While she was cutting my nails, she ripped a few nails onto the bed. When it came to removing the acrylic, the nail drill was used with a very heavy hand. Even after the acrylic was all gone, she went back in with the nail drill two more times, in order to try and remove the part of the nail that was damaged while the nails were being cut. By the time she was done with the nail drill, my nails were bright red, and it hurt to the point that I thought that she had filed down to the nail bed. When she was filing the tips of my nails, she pointed out that my nails were very weak, I guess in a way to justify why she was having difficulty shaping my nails evenly. The final product visually came out okay, even if the shape is a bit uneven... but my nails are destroyed I naturally have thick and healthy nails. I am aware that acrylic can damage the nail, but I have NEVER had this kind of damage done to my nails during removal before. My nails are currently so thin and brittle that doing simple tasks like doing up buttons or taking cards out of my wallet are challenging. I couldn't even tuck my shirt in this morning because it hurt my nails to the point where I was afraid that they might crack. I am genuinely concerned about losing some nails while I wait for my nails to grow back in. If you do go to this salon, make sure they cut your nails appropriately and don't go crazy with the nail drill. I don't want anyone else to experience this level of discomfort
