I sat down and gave this new place a try. After speaking briefly the owner clearly had a opinion of me, she started with was pulling my fingers around like they are not attached to me. Was very rude, and didn't have confidence in her work, at one point she told me that I had nail polish under my nail and I asked her if she could remove it, after all I am at a nail salon. She was huffing and puffing and jerking my hands around removed it. She made sure that she talked to everyone around but me, and made a spectacle in front of people of totally ignored me. Tried to BULLY me around. Didn't say anything after I said Thank you and left her a tip. Nothing. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I don't know where she Got her License on bullying people around. But this is not a way a human being treats another human being especially in a customer service industry Manicure was awful polish everywhere, specks around the nail. I could not wait to get out of there! DON'T GO

I really wanted to love Skintreet. This review is based off of an experience with a single…read moreesthetician and doesn't necessarily reflect the entire salon. As a specialist in Brazillian waxing, I expected a high level of professionalism and cleanliness. My biggest concern was with the fact that the wax was not sanitary. I studied at an esthetics school in Montreal and the first rule of waxing was NEVER double dip your spatula, etc. Unless policy at Skintreet is to use a fresh pot of wax for each client (which I doubt) the esthetician was not following this golden rule. The method was: bare hands, into wax pot, onto skin, wax area, hands back in wax pot. In comparison, I have never been to a SINGLE salon or spa that does this. The estheticians wear gloves or at least ALWAYS use fresh spatulas EACH time they access the wax. I've had several Brazillians since, and all were less painful - which is less of a concern to me than the cleanliness issue. The price ended up being around $70. I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was just plain dangerous. It's possible this esthetician is no longer with the salon, but it was enough to make me not consider going back. I *doubt* such a high end salon doesn't follow sanitation policy, and it was likely just a rogue case, but it'd be worth asking about if you make an appointment.

Tip: This business is online and specializes in quality nail wraps…read more I've been using nail wraps for a few years now. I like them over nail polish because the latter takes what feels like forever to dry, even when using a nail fan to dry the polish. My favourite nail wrap brand is Dashing Diva. I used to buy them at Winners, but they are no longer available at the stores that I frequent regularly. I liked the cheaper prices at Winners. Shoppers Drug Mart has a couple of Dashing Diva styles that go for $14 and I refuse to buy them at that price. When I do visit the States, TJ Maxx has Dashing Diva products. I tend to stock up before I return home. Long story short, I have been trying to find an online business that specializes in quality nail wraps like Dashing Diva. I have finally found Peachy Peach Nails that fits all criteria. Quality. Lasts for at least two weeks. Cute designs. Prices that don't break the bank. The bonus? It's a Canadian business that hails from London, Ontario. Yay! This place has a decent selection of nail wrap designs. Each set of nails wraps goes for $5, which is highly affordable. You get 18 wraps in each set. I find that they are long enough that you can use one for two nails, such as your pinky finger's nail. If you buy four sets, you get a fifth for free, which feels like getting away with nail wrap murder. I placed my order and it got to me within five business days through Canada Post. Pretty good! I liked all the stickers on the envelope containing my order. I also got some shiny stickers. It's like this business knew me well for years. My laptop has stickers all over its clamshell case. What wowed me the most was a handwritten message, thanking me for my order. I am a sucker for personalized, handwritten messages. It was such a nice, thoughtful touch. My order came with a sample pack to practise prepping my nails, sticking the wraps on, filing them down, and admiring them. I also got a nail file and a cuticle stick that proved helpful. I tried the sample wraps and love them. The thickness is impressive. They go on smoothly. They file off nicely. I love them. Peachy Peach Nails has how-to videos on its online site. I have watched both the application and removal videos of their wraps. I have learned so much! I have been using a top coat to have my wraps last a lot longer. The site recommends not using Quo because it will shrink the wraps. I love Quo's top coat. Luckily, I ran out of it recently, so I won't use it on these wraps. The best time to apply the wraps is before going to bed. It allows the wraps to set and you won't be washing your hands while you sleep. For years, I tend to do my nails on a Sunday afternoon, after I'm done cooking up a storm and washing my hands like crazy. Although I don't wash my hands for a few hours, I have had to change my routine to doing them before I hit the sack. I love the nail wrap styles. Pandas. Rainbows and clouds. Cats. A dreamy purple pattern. Watercolours with glitter. Each style is so different. They are all so pretty and nice. It was wonderful to have found this business. I'm a fan. (352)
