I booked a mani pedi for my mom, sister and myself for 3pm on a Friday. It was the day before my…read moresister's wedding so I had booked it well in advance. We arrived at 3 and the place was packed. One of the women giving a manicure told us we could pick our colours so we did. We then stood around for a bit in the waiting area being ignored. Eventually I was able to flag someone down and told her we had an appointment. She said they were running behind and would be ready for us at 330. Around 320 we were seated in the pedicure chairs. At 340 someone came and started working on my sister. My mom and I we're still sitting there with our feet in the water. What's the point of us having a pedicure together if only one of us gets done at a time? At 350 someone came to my chair, eating a granola bar. Then for some reason she decided to start on my mom. At 4 (1 hour after my scheduled appointment time!) the woman who had been working on my sister started to work on my feet. After a couple of minutes another woman became free so she started working on me and the other woman went back to my sister. The staff kept getting up in the middle of our pedicures and doing other things. It was very distracting. Somehow when she was trimming my toes she ripped some skin around my big toe and it hurt a lot. She tried to say it was because of how my nails were growing but it didn't make sense. I get pedicures all the time and no one has ever had a problem trimming my nails. I thought at this point most salons had stopped using those razor blade things so I was surprised to see this place was using what looked like a metal cheese grater. I opted out of that. The staff themselves were very nice, but awkward and very disorganized. This is probably not their fault, it's the fault of management. On the plus side they did let us bring our own wine in and drink it. We left the salon at 530. It shouldn't take this long for a basic mani pedi. I got a French manicure and it was very crooked. Overall the experience was not at all relaxing or comfortable. It was supposed to be fun and relaxing for us before the wedding and instead it just added stress to our day bc it took so long and got us off schedule. I will definitely not return here and do not recommend this place. It's now been two days since I got the pedicure and my feet are cracked and sore, much worse than before I got the pedicure.

I went here to get my acrylic overlay removed and a shellac manicure. When the lady was cutting my…read morenails, she asked me if I wanted them shorter, so I said yes. She proceeded to cut them super short, to the point where it hurt. While she was cutting my nails, she ripped a few nails onto the bed. When it came to removing the acrylic, the nail drill was used with a very heavy hand. Even after the acrylic was all gone, she went back in with the nail drill two more times, in order to try and remove the part of the nail that was damaged while the nails were being cut. By the time she was done with the nail drill, my nails were bright red, and it hurt to the point that I thought that she had filed down to the nail bed. When she was filing the tips of my nails, she pointed out that my nails were very weak, I guess in a way to justify why she was having difficulty shaping my nails evenly. The final product visually came out okay, even if the shape is a bit uneven... but my nails are destroyed I naturally have thick and healthy nails. I am aware that acrylic can damage the nail, but I have NEVER had this kind of damage done to my nails during removal before. My nails are currently so thin and brittle that doing simple tasks like doing up buttons or taking cards out of my wallet are challenging. I couldn't even tuck my shirt in this morning because it hurt my nails to the point where I was afraid that they might crack. I am genuinely concerned about losing some nails while I wait for my nails to grow back in. If you do go to this salon, make sure they cut your nails appropriately and don't go crazy with the nail drill. I don't want anyone else to experience this level of discomfort

You can really tell the owner of this nail salon puts his heart into his business. Every time I…read morevisit, something has changed (for the better). Whether it is new lights or offering wine with a mani-pedi, Hot Nails has evolved since I started coming here 4 years ago. (And yes, they do have a liquor license so you can get wine while you get pampered!) The first thing I noticed about this place is how everyone says hello to the owner Peter like they are the best of friends. You can tell his customers are very loyal and love their work. I find the service is quick and pretty good. My nails come out perfect every time. I think I've only had one experience where I had to ask the girl to put another coat on my nails cause the polish was a bit thin. Not a huge deal at all, she was happy to oblige. Sometimes the service itself is a bit inconsistent, one time I got a scrub with my pedicure and other times I didn't, so I'm not sure what the logic is behind it. Overall if you are looking for a good, quick, and friendly place to get your nails done, check out Hot Nails on Wellington road. The longest I've ever had to wait is maybe 10 minutes. I've never had an issue walking in without an appointment. They also have a loyalty card, after so many visits you get a service 50% off.

They accommodated me and several others as walk-ins without any issue. I was very happy with my service, I had a shellac manicure with French tips and they look great. I didn't try them but they also had nice massage chairs in the pedicure area and you can have wine or champagne while having a service. The product lines were all natural as well which was very nice. Would definitely try this place again!

Believe it or not these are my nails not even an hour after my appointment .The customer service was okay when I went in but I wasted my time and my moneyyyy. The nails were ok at first but as soon as I went into better light I noticed they were lumpy and uneven, then I saw that the polish was lifting off (an hour or so after my appointment)! I called to let them know the nails weren't done properly and that I wanted a refund, he said there was nothing he could do about it? I had to PAY to get them fixed at my usual place... I would NOT recommend going here... unless you like play dough looking nails.

When you buy a McDonald's combo and upgrade to a large drink, does that mean you no longer want to…read morecombo? No. My boyfriend bought me a shellac mani and pedi gift certificate for this salon for my birthday. When booking my appointment I asked if I could upgrade to acrylics and they said there would be an extra charge, which I expected. When the appointment was finished he told me I owed an extra 30$! I asked why so much as that's the most expensive acrylics I've ever gotten for a simple 2 colour nail with no design. He was Claiming because I got the long nails that means I no longer want the combo. That the shellac mani is 30 and the regular pedi is 35 and my boyfriend paid 60$ therefore I need to pay 50$ for the acrylics and 35$ for the regular pedi. So he wanted an extra 20 for the mani and 5 for the pedi plus tax. (Paying cash) I asked why are you charging me for the pedi I still got a regular pedicure and he argued with me for 10 minutes saying that I no longer got the combo. Really seemed like a scam because he kept going back and fourth on the price of the acrylics too. This was a birthday gift and something my boyfriend set up for me to do on my birthday while he was at work. Really ruined the experience having some man try to take advantage of me and over charge... 50$ for acrylics, it better be the best manicure of my life. These nails aren't even straight, thick, see through and all the nail polish was super crusty. Stay far away. Much better places to get your nails done.

ZERO STARS if that were an option…read more I had one of the worst nail salon experiences of my life here, and it was rooted in dishonesty, incompetence, and complete disregard for a serious allergy. Before my service even started, I clearly told three different employees that I am highly allergic to gel. I explained, multiple times, that gel causes my fingers to blister, crack, and become extremely itchy, and that I cannot use UV lamps. I specifically requested dipping powder ONLY because it does not require UV curing. I called ahead when making my appointment to confirm they could provide this service, as it states on their website, and was explicitly told yes. Once I arrived, multiple employees again confirmed they understood my request and my allergy. Eventually, a technician was brought over who again confirmed she understood my gel allergy and that she would be doing dip powder. That was a lie. From the start, she showed she had no idea what she was doing. Instead of soaking off my existing dip, she aggressively ground my nails thinner and thinner, even after I asked her to please stop and soak them. She continued drilling past the color layer and into my natural nail telling me that she "has to do it this way". Finally, I had to pull my hand away while firmly and loudly tell her no more, because my nails were becoming so painfully thin that it was burning me! Then came the biggest red flag. After applying the base coat, she told me to put my hands in the UV lamp. I immediately said no and reminded her, again, that I am allergic to gel and UV curing. She insisted, saying, "I know, it will just help them dry." That statement alone proves she was not doing dip powder, because dip does not go or dry in a UV lamp. That is gel. She repeatedly argued with me, insisting I needed to use the UV light. At that point, I realized I was being completely misled. I briefly complied out of confusion, then immediately pulled my hands out because I knew this was wrong. She became visibly annoyed that I wouldn't continue. After nearly an hour and a half, she applied what she claimed was the dipping activator. This hardens the nails almost immediately, but the nails never hardened. When she touched one, the entire layer smeared right off. That's when it became undeniable: She had been using gel on my nails the entire time. I confronted her and said plainly: "You put gel on my nails. I told you multiple times I am allergic. You said it wasn't gel." Her response? "Oh, come here, we take it off or start again." Absolutely not. To make matters worse, I brought my poor elderly mother with me for a pedicure. Her pedicure lasted maybe 10 minutes, was rushed, poorly done, smudged, and then she was left sitting there for over an hour and a half while my disastrous nail service dragged on. The technician who did her pedicure was just as careless and unprofessional. So not only was my service unsafe and dishonest, but my mom's experience was equally awful. This salon fails across the board. This place lied, wasted my time, damaged my nails, and exposed me to a product I clearly stated was medically unsafe for me. There was no apology, no accountability, just an attempt to quietly redo it after I caught them. If you care about your health, your nails, or basic honesty, DO NOT GO HETE!!! They will tell you what you want to hear and then do whatever is fastest, easiest, and cheapest for them! For the record, I was only able to get my nails done safely because Sen Nails & Spa actually does real dipping powder and respects client allergies. They quite literally saved me during the holidays and made my nails look beautiful!! This salon is dishonest, careless, and completely unprofessional. What happened here raises serious health and safety concerns, and I genuinely believe this business should be investigated and shut down.
