Jennie is the absolute best and was incredibly professional!!! I'm not sure we can say enough wonderful things about her to adequately do justice to how integral she was in our wedding! She was absolutely wonderful as our wedding photographer, and we were so lucky to have found her. My wife and I, as an LGBTQ couple who are both introverted, were extremely worried about finding a photographer who made us feel comfortable, but who was also LGBTQ friendly. We searched A LOT of places on the web, trying to find recommendations from outdated LGBTQ wedding sites for Colorado, that had broken links or few photographer options. We ended up finding Jennie through one of her blog posts about intimate, Colorado wedding venues, and we absolutely fell in love with her photography style. We also loved that she had so many great recommendations about vendors and helpful posts about wedding planning in general. Her blog post is how we ended up finding our dream wedding venue, Deer Creek Valley Ranch. They had not even been on our radar, until we read her blog, and we ended up touring there and falling in love with it immediately. I think though our favorite thing about Jennie, though, is how comfortable she made us feel in front of the camera. We had know idea what to expect or even if we would feel so awkward that we wouldn't get any good facial expressions. With Jennie, it didn't even matter! She not only made us feel comfortable and guided or directed us when needed, but she managed to find all these magic shots of emotion, laughter, and spontaneity that we didn't even realize had happened from both our engagement session and our wedding. I can't say enough good things about Jennie Crate. Not only is her photography work incredible, but she was so much fun to be around. She made us feel completely at ease and supported throughout our entire process - and this included replanning our wedding twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic. When we had to consider replanning our wedding due to the pandemic, she was full of helpful location ideas to bring our new vision to life, gave great advice on timing around the day's activities, and happily answered the 1000 questions I threw her way! Her support during this time was critical, and we couldn't have reached the perfect resolution we did without her. My (now) husband found Jennie through the various wedding vendor websites, and she quickly stood out as one of the best photographers on our list. We loved the natural ease that couples exuded in her photos and her colorful, natural editing style. After a quick phone call, we felt like we would enjoy working with her and decided to book her for our wedding. Looks like our instincts were correct! When behind the camera, she was an excellent coach (for anyone who is not used to being in front of the camera), she had great ideas for locations/poses/etc to keep us and the photos feeling fun and authentically us, and yet she was flexible and listened to exactly what we wanted. She was even open to our idea to use our package's engagement photoshoot for a post-wedding photoshoot in the mountains in our wedding attire (this session actually created our favorite photos btw!). I honestly cannot say enough amazing, incredible, wonderful things about Jennie and Amelia!!! We worked with Jennie for all of our editing and one of her colleagues, Amelia, did our actual shoot. I had looked at multiple photographers in the area before reaching out to Jennie's team. I loved her editing style and knew she'd do excellent work for us! I definitely had a vision in mind for my shoot, and when the location I initially wanted didn't work, Jennie and Amelia worked tirelessly to suggest alternatives so that I could get the engagement shoot of my dreams. To start, in September 2020 we were supposed to do our engagement shoot at Rocky Mountain Park on a Sunday evening during golden hour. 24 hours before we were set to arrive at the park, our original photographer had to cancel our full contract (including the engagement shoot) due to personal reasons but she was kind enough to suggest Jennie as a potential replacement. Within a day, we were signed up and meeting Jennie in Estes Park for our already scheduled photos. We were so impressed with Jennie's willingness to jump in and meet us so we could shoot our dream engagement photos! From our engagement shoot through the wedding, Jennie was super responsive and eager to connect. She did a wonderful job leading up to the wedding answering our questions/preparing and then day of did an incredible job as well. Jennie and her assistant Ashley made us feel comfortable and excited throughout the day while also giving us precious space to reflect and take in alllll the moments in an organic way. I was thoroughly impressed with Jennie and her work. She was professional and kind. I am a huge believer in communication, especially on such a big day. She was prompt in responding to all my questions and always helped provide resources, if needed, to provide an answer. f I had to truly thank only one person throughout the wedding process it would be Jennie, our photographer. Jennie was astounding. We took our engagement photos with Jennie and from the moment we met her over zoom, and in person at our engagement photos, I knew that we were in good hands. Jennie is just one of those people. We were specifically looking for someone who had experience shooting winter weddings. Jennie had a beautiful portfolio from previous winter weddings (and all others!). We hadn't even met Jennie in person before our wedding day. When we did, she was instantly warm, friendly, and so easy to get along with. She made us feel super comfortable. I think we were both feeling a little silly and nervous to have a camera focus on just the two of us. Jennie made all of that go away! My wife and I have never been great in front of a camera and Candice made us feel SO comfortable, was able to easily get us to be ourselves, and truly capture who we are on the most important day of our lives. Jennie photographed our elopement in April 2022 and she was wonderful! My wife and I tend to be a bit awkward/uncomfortable in front of the camera since we dont like a lot of attention on us.
