Absolutely Lifesaver on the 4th of July!…read more I am on a long road trip with my family in our 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander when our dashboard suddenly lit up with a bunch of serious malfunction errors, and the car lost driving power. It was incredibly stressful, especially since it happened right before the holiday weekend when almost every other repair shop was completely closed. I pulled into this Steve's Shell Service Center, and Steve stepped up to help us. He was incredibly friendly, kind, and calm. He is extremely knowledgeable about modern vehicle electronics and took the time to listen to what happened, scan the vehicle's computer codes, and explain exactly what was causing the glitch. He cleared the error codes for us completely for free so we could get back on the road safely and finish our holiday trip. After a long test drive, the car is running perfectly normal again and all the dashboard lights are gone. Steve didn't just fix our car's electronic glitch; he saved our entire holiday weekend. If you ever need honest, expert, and genuinely caring mechanical help, go see Steve at this Shell station. I cannot thank him enough!

But today, I was met by the single most rude employee one could imagine. Now, maybe she was just having a bad day (it happens) but to interrupt my sentence just to tell me "I need you to put on your parking brake, roll down your window and give me your mileage" with a level of demand and urgency as if the lives of children were at risk, is a little much. My response; "Wow, that is a lot of needs." She again repeated her demands and clearly I failed to understand how serious the moment had become so she added pointing and gestors to supplement her request; "I need you to put on your brake, roll down your window and give me your mileage!" Yeah, I heard your list of demands the first time. I have been pulled over with less consternation then what this tech was displaying. I simply replied, "No, I think I will go someplace else." Remember when I said I have been taking all my vehicles here for nearly ten years? That stopped today.

I want to give a huge shoutout to Ryan from R&J Mobile Mechanics. I was in Zion for a few days…read morewhen, unfortunately, my battery light came on. The next morning I drove about 30 minutes down the mountain to AutoZone to have the battery tested. It turned out the battery wasn't holding a charge, and I was told the next thing to check would most likely be the alternator. I called multiple mechanics and mobile mechanics in the area until my brother found Ryan. At first, there wasn't much he could do because we had to emergency order an alternator from Vegas. I was able to get a warranty replacement battery from AutoZone and continue my plans for the day. The following evening around 5:30 PM, Ryan came out and was able to take care of the repair. He even helped order the correct alternator through AutoZone for me. He showed up on time, checked every possible option, and took the time to properly troubleshoot the issue instead of just guessing. After testing everything, we determined the alternator was the most likely problem. The installation only took him about 40 minutes. Afterward, we tested everything multiple times using different meters and code readers, took the vehicle for a test drive, and made sure everything was working correctly. I was nervous at first because there was still a strange noise after the repair, but Ryan took the time to troubleshoot it further until everything checked out. The battery light was gone, all tests passed, and I was able to safely drive over 350 miles back to California without any issues. I really appreciate Ryan's professionalism, honesty, and willingness to help while I was stranded away from home. If you're ever in the Zion area and need a reliable mechanic, I highly recommend R&J Mobile Mechanics.

They didn't just recommend services--they explained why each one mattered. Services performed: - Oil Change - The foundation of engine health. Keeps everything lubricated and running smooth. - Front & Rear Differential Service - Crucial for vehicles with AWD or 4WD. This keeps your wheels turning properly and prevents wear in the gears that transfer power from the engine. - Automatic Transmission Service - Ensures smooth shifting and protects against costly transmission failure. - Fuel Treatment - Cleans out the fuel system, improves mileage, and helps the engine run cleaner and stronger. Selena was fantastic--friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. David backed it up with solid mechanical insight. Together, they made sure I understood what my vehicle needed and why. Hours that actually work for real people: - Monday-Friday: Open until 6pm - Saturday: Open until 5pm - Sunday: Open until 4pm When no one else was open, they were. That alone makes them a gem. They've taken over some of the old oil change shops in town and brought real service back to the area. All of this came out to around half a grand, which is a great price considering the scope of work and the long-term protection it gives my engine. I'm confident driving cross-country now, and I'll definitely be back. --- Want me to tailor this for Yelp or Google, or add a punchier headline?
