We spoke on the phone and I also asked to have a zoom meeting to take place on site.I wanted to make sure we were very clear that all other items were to remain and be handled with care. Before the process I also spoke with them a couple of times for assurance. Contaminated surfaces were to be cleaned and disinfected as advertised by the company. Only the items listed were to be removed and they were to be removed in accordance with OSHA standards. That is not what happened. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): There was no apparent Bio-hazard set-up. The door was wide open although the crew was initially dressed in HazMat gear it was later removed. Items were missing and damaged One worked mentioned that another was under the influence. And the list goes on.

I would expect not all service companies to be equal but when "Market Rates" are referenced on an invoice and don't seem to match other "Market Rates", that's a red flag for me. After trying to have a conversation multiple times with no return call or reply from the owner, they instead threatened to put a lien on the home. I would recommend getting multiple quotes for this type of work. Rocky Moutain BioHazard, sad to say, seems to take advantage of folks in great times of need.

However, I eventually found them adding to the stress. They did not complete the work as promised, further damaged my property and possessions, and increased the original quote by well over 50%. They also removed my ladder from my house and did not return it until I realized it was gone and asked for it back. I was given an insurance payment and was directed by my insurance company to withhold an amount for the incomplete work and damages. Instead of agreeing on an amount or taking responsibility and apologizing for the poor work, RMBH deflected, avoided responsibility, and even accused me of insurance fraud and threatened to put a lien on my home. According to the reviews, I am not the only one that this has happened to. RMBH is fully aware that their clients are in a bind but are clearly willing to take advantage of their situation and will resort to threats and accusations before rectifying their part. I'd advise them to actually perform the services they promise and ensure that future clients' possessions and property are cared for in the process.

I'm also a big fan of the fact that they put out materials that can be re used for free, so people can come pick up what they need. It's been over a month since the installation and the radon levels are above recommended levels (4/20/23 4.4, 4/21/23 5.2, 4/22/23 4.2, 4/28/23 6.4). I didn't monitor it every day but today it's at 4.3. When I contacted John the owner on 4/19/23, he suggested two options. 1. Install a larger fan for $150 which he said may or may not work and 2. Call some company to come out to run a scope to see if there is a blockage. He couldn't suggest a company because he didn't know any. The one option he didn't offer which I suggested, was to have one of his technicians come out to take a look at it. Needless to say I am not a happy customer. I paid $1,300 for something that doesn't work with no recourse. I will be contacting the BBB though.
