The consultation is figuring out how they can convince you to wear your hair in a manner that they cut or color. The unknowledgeable stylist that I paid was arrogant, self absorbed and untalented. I'm a male, who just wanted a few highlights in my bangs, and a trim, which was $35. We didn't discuss the cost for bang highlights, but if I had gotten half my head done, it should still have cost only $105. During the process, she put half the foils I asked for, and ignored me when I said it wasn't enough, saying 'it would be fine.' I asked her to please give me platinum highlights, and when she pulled out the foils, my hair was orange, which she said would be fine, because she was going to tone it (which I didn't want, I wanted platinum hair, as I asked for). She finally finished the cut, after hacking away at my hair. -Not like a razor cut, which is evenly uneven, but from short, to long, back to short again, in a hideous, rat's nest of a cut, which had no shape to it. By the time my hair was dry, I saw it had been dyed to an orangish brown, and was an uneven color along the hair strands. I went in for a cut somewhere else, and didn't even say anything, but my new stylist immediately asked who destroyed my hair. She seemed to think I had cut it myself.. With the tip, I paid Priscilla over $200!! For the highlights in my bangs, and a men's haircut ($180 for the services). She said she would redo it, if I wanted, but it would be during some other appointment time, which I did not want to have to go back for. I was also not going to let her touch my hair again, and needed to get a decent cut somewhere else, in time for a memorial service. I used to do hair for a living, so, I'm very aware of when I've gotten a hatchet job, by a bad hairstylist. I would not recommend Priscilla to my worst enemy. If you want a hairdresser who listens, addresses your concerns, and gives you an even haircut, do not see Priscilla. I am very angry and disgusted, at the hideous hairdo, and the $200 I was overcharged for, and will never get back- I have seldom been quite this disregarded during a procedure, and I don't think I've ever had a cut that was this raggedy. I looked like I had mange.

So first things first, she texted me as soon as I scheduled the appointment and asked me to send an inspiration pic, which already made me feel like 'ok, she's not just a professional but she is really Doing Her Homework.' When I saw Dalia, and seriously she's just the friendliest, most easy going person to talk to. If anyone ever has anxiety about going somewhere and having awkward silences, then fear not, you will be chatting away in no time. So returning to that photo I sent in earlier, Dalia brought it up ofc, but she also gave her own opinions about how to make that look work for my hair. Which is exactly what I wanted, because i didn't want an exact 'copy' of the photo. So after making sure we were on the same page (which I felt like we were from the start), she got to working her magic. And this is the easiest part, since you guys already know I gave 5 stars, so I need not say more. I'm just so happy I got the look I've always imagined, something that's both in line and beyond what I imagined when sending my inspiration photo. I've apologized many times for accidentally slouching my shoulders, etc. I wouldn't call it relaxing experience but I've always cared more about an even cut. Sometimes my bangs have been too chunky and other times it doesn't lay right but it's always even. The coloring is inconsistent though. Sometimes it looks okay and other times not so much. I am so unhappy with my recent balayage. It is very brassy (aside from an almost white front) and I absolutely hate these tones in my hair. They look awful with my skin tone. I wanted to cry when I left because I came in with an almost blank canvas of virgin hair, any hairstylist's dream that I had grown out to have this look done. Since, I've tried to use different toners at home but at this point I figure I just have to grow it out, or pay someone for a color correction since it's such a solid brassy tone throughout my whole head. This isn't going to be a very nice grow out either because it contrasts so heavily with my natural color, which is an ashy dark blonde. I wanted a low maintenance, natural look and this is anything but. I would just expect more after 4+ hours and $350.
