My mother and I have been purchasing jewelry here for years I am 31 and the jewelry my mother purchased for my 16th , 21st, and 30th birthdays as well as my college graduation all came from here, she's purchased several pieces for her own collection and what prompted this review is when I cleaned out my jewelry box and found that more than half of my own pieces came from here as well. Nicole is freaking awesome! Her service is on point she's a sweetheart and is always super patient and never pushy with her sales tactic, we're always happy to see her and purchase from her. The owner/jewelry maker is very good at his craft and helpful when picking pieces, I've only ever had the basic tarnishing nothings ever broken or seemed to be anything other than good quality. They also clean your jewelry at no cost when you come back in with it, the prices are reasonable for custom jewelry that you can't find many places, and they're super easy to find in the Baldwin hills/Crenshaw mall. I had to bump them down from 5 stars to 3.5 but 3.5 isn't an option so I rounded up to 4. I recently went in as a loyal customer and spent about $1000 on gifts for myself my mother and cousin, three bracelets, two pairs of earrings, a ring, and two of those gifts were pendants (you kinda need a chain to wear a pendent) when I asked the new sales girl in front of the owner whose known my mother and I for years about the chain for the pendent she said oh the chains are about $17, I just looked at her kinda puzzled because I didn't remember Nicole ever charging my mom for a chain when purchasing a pendent in the past but more puzzled because I'm a very loyal customer whose referred other loyal customers to his business not to say $1000 was going to allow this man to retire but as a business woman myself it's always a good business practice to be loyal to those that are loyal to you. This was always my absolute first choice for ethnic styled jewelry in fact I never even researched a different or possibly less expensive place but after this happened I really thought to myself I don't feel valued here so maybe I should explore other options for my jewelry. Understood that it's only $17 it was not going to break me nor the owner. However, the bigger picture was that a tiny little chain would have really reinforced my loyalty to their business and made me feel like I was spending my money in the right place. I've never asked for anything free, a discount, or a hook up, when she told me the price of the chain I just said oh okay took my new goods and left but I left without the sweet taste in my mouth that I came in with. Business owners it takes a few small personal touches to stand apart in a crazy competitive world where I can pretty much buy anything jewelry, cars, hell a baby online. Still love the place, will still purchase things here, but I don't feel the same loyalty. read more
