So everything is literally covered by layers of dust, cigarette tar, saw dust. I probably did not stress the level of messiness clearly, and they were surprised by the amount of work needed. But even so, they managed to bring in more people and held up their guarantee to complete the work same day. The house is 10 times better after the cleaning. The clean was so detailed everything is sparkling and even old unfinished wood is much cleaner (which I didn't think you can effectively clean). For some people this service ticks the box as just a cleaning service and based on that they do a good job with cleaning surfaces kitchen bathrooms etc. But for others, myself included, I didn't feel I was receiving the type of care that I feel a personal home cleaning service should be.

That night we tried desperately to get it out using towels and baking soda. However, at the conclusion of our efforts I was left dismayed and staring at what were now purple stains on the rug. I got on HomeAdvisor.com and did a search for carpet cleaners. After putting in my info, Mike was the first to respond. While I made arrangements for him to pickup the rug, I seriously debated throwing it away and buying a new one even though it was my favorite rug. Reason being, it had been cleaned multiple times by Stanley Steemer and it had always came back dingy and dirty, but they claimed it was the best they could do. As such, I was highly doubtful that the wine stains could be removed in their entirety. Nevertheless, I let Mike pick up the rug and give it a try. Well let me say, I am soooo unbelievably happy that I did. When he unrolled the rug onto my living room floor, I was shocked that not only could I see no evidence of the wine stains, but the entire rug looked like it did when it was first purchased. I was in love with my rug again and so grateful I had not gotten rid of it.
