Fast forward 6 years and I had lived through a medical saga that turned out to be a spinal CSF leak and I had to travel cross-country dozens of times for experts to treat that condition. Those doctors thought my hearing loss, tinnitus, and vestibular issues were additional symptoms of the spinal CSF leak, but after surgery to repair that issue, my ear issues did not resolve when the rest of the leak symptoms did. We thought maybe it was just damage from the leak that became permanent and I gave up on looking for different answers. That's when I made an appointment for a follow-up hearing test with Dr. Costello even though I hadn't seen him in years. I remembered that he was so kind and didn't think I needed anything more than testing to see if my hearing loss had changed any over the years. I brought all sorts of information with me regarding spinal CSF leaks so I could share my story with him and all that had happened to me and my case over the years In case he ever came across another patient like me. Not only was he open to hearing all about it, but he was excited to talk and learn more!! While I was speaking with him, he pulled up the imaging I had at MEEI years ago and realized almost immediately that I had a condition that was overlooked by the MEEI doctors that explained all my ear issues - hearing loss, tinnitus, popping, vestibular deficits, etc! He immediately realized that I needed to once again be seen at MEEI, but after I shared my concern about the previous doctor I saw there not telling me about the issue (semicircular canal dehiscence) years ago, so he personally called and got me connected with a doctor there that he really admired. She was wonderful, too! I am currently still going through testing at MEEI and a path forward for me is still unknown, but with Dr. Costello's keen eye, caring nature and follow-through, I no longer have mystery symptoms that may have caused me many more trips across the country and dangerous procedures, thinking that they were still due to the spinal CSF leak!! Dr. Costello cleared up so much for me and I will forever be grateful. Even if my continued issues are not able to be resolved, I now have answers and relief from the worry of not knowing what was happening to my own body and brain. I know that sometimes his daughters check the Yelp reviews, so if you are reading this - please know that your Dad is awesome and please tell him how much I appreciate him! I had a tonsillectomy on August 7nth 2023. Sherri Morales, the surgical coordinator was extremely rude and careless. Every-time I had called her number to speak with her about my surgical time and or questions I had leading up to my surgery she had an attitude and no interest on being on the phone or in person talking with me, which is part of her job to remind you. The doctor/surgeon I had was Dr. Doolittle. I was prescribed 40 Oxy @ 5 mg and was told by one of the discharging nurses at Shields Surgical Center to take Tylenol every hour. My caretaker was there to receive the pain regime since I was still coming out of the anesthesia. By day 2 post op I was vomiting non stop and couldn't stop shaking. The person who took care of me as well as myself were greatly concerned. By day 3 post op I was rushed to the Hospital by ambulance closet to me, and had told them the type of procedure I had, as well as the pain regime I was directed to be on after surgery. I was overdosing and slowly killing myself without even having the knowledge of it. The doctor over at the hospital was greatly concerned for my liver and how much Oxy and Tylenol I was prescribed and being told to take. I was severely dehydrated as I didn't eat or drink knowing that I would throw it up due to Oxy and Tylenol. I also had a UTI. Dr. Doolittle had instructed me to NOT take any Ibuprofen or Motrin because of bleeding. The doctor at the ER told me otherwise. I left the hospital after being on an IV, prescribed nausea meds and as well as a new pain regime which consisted of Tylenol and Motrin/Ibuprofen every 3 hours switching them so I get a little bit of something every 3 hours. ENT were very quick to send my bill to me. I had spoken with Jennifer and had a referral from my PCP sent over to them as well as insurance to cover the bill. A week went by with no phone call back from them regarding the bill, including no e-mail or mail sent out to my address. I called them to make sure everything was squared away with my bill. It wasn't. Nobody called me to let me know that they needed another referral from my PCP. I am now 1 month post op, and on my right side of the back of my mouth (where my tonsils were once located) I still have a chunk of tonsil that was not taken out. I have relocated since my surgery and am now going to have to find a new ENT doctor to fix Dr. Doolittle's mess. I am so frustrated as this was my first surgery ever and no one took care of me like I thought I would be taken care of here. My anxiety about this surgery was extreme, I got sedated before surgery because of the stress and anxiety I was having while nurses and the anesthesiologist were prepping me before I went under the knife. It takes a lot to trust anyone when you aren't conscious enough to be able to trust them visually. Please take this as a precaution before entering this office and receiving treatment.

He is absolutely the best doctor I have ever had…read more 1. Knowledge: beyond that of any doctor I have ever seen. He not only knew more than anyone else I had seen, but he also could recognize what he didn't know, and he found out on his own and got back to me. I literally had five different diagnosis from five different doctors. My illness was confusing, and he was the only one to correctly predict what I was going to experience as time went on, and how to deal with (and cure) what I had despite the lack of tests to verifiably diagnose me. He noticed within moments what no other doctor had the insight to detect. 2. Bedside manner: fantastic. I was extremely comfortable. I felt taken care of and respected. He didn't ever oversimplify or dumb down his diagnosis. He was clear, honest, and helpful in describing what he saw honestly and completely and without unnecessary lingo. He made everything extremely easy on me (He partly filled out forms for me so I didn't have to figure it out and he mailed them to me at my apartment (name, type of care etc). It was incredible how caring and how important it was to me!) They really made a great effort to make you comfortable, and give you mental ease while you're sick. 3. Wait time: Above and beyond. I always came in in the morning if I had an appointment, but there were times when I was sick with a fever and just called in hoping to see someone sometime that day. They always got me in right away with maybe a 10 minute wait! It was fantastic. I can't speak highly enough about Dr. Goldstein! I am super hard to please and kinda critical in general, but that is especially true when I'm sick. Dr. Goldstein was fantastic. I never had to worry about anything from billing to accurate information to staff remembering my history, to paperwork, to general caring atmosphere, and most of all I had confidence finally that he knew his stuff, and I was going to get well after quite a lot of searching!! My highest recommendation goes to him!

Funny, as I am a married gentile woman in my 40s, I never entertained the thought of an older Jewish man....... But he is quite funny and rather charming, especially when the chaos of the day finally calms down in his office. He looks you right in the eye when he speaks to you and he notices little things that either other people don't observe or don't take the time to mention. Now on to the review: The first time I went to his office I waited for hours, as they were so far behind schedule and my appointment was still mid morning. He did take the time to send me for the tests I necessary; nevertheless, he was unable to diagnose what my particular problem was. He was actually baffled. As the other Yelper indicated, he did not issue and Rx unnecessarily, which is always appreciated and he okayed my to fly. He scheduled a follow-up appointment and sent me for repeat tests, same results and still no idea of what the problem with me ears is. "We", and I say we, because I have been looking for answers as well, have looked into drug interactions and other factors and have been unable to come up with anything. Yet, the problem persists. I have my third appointment coming up soon. If he does not find a solution to my ongoing ear problem (this has been 10 months) ~ I am going to break up with him.....

I went to see Dr. Brown a while back as a second opinion, which I disclosed on our first visit, for a sinus issue I unfortunately still suffer from. At first he seemed kind and caring and wanting the best and asked me to keep calling back every few weeks to see how I was doing, which I did. Unfortunately in one of our follow up calls, when I told him I was still seeing my original doctor, he got angry at me and said he would no longer see me anymore, calling it "unethical." I was in shock! I'd never had a doctor speak to me this way. My health will always come before someone's ego. I'll see 50 doctors if that's what it takes. So if you're lucky enough to get the experience others have written about here that's great. Unfortunately Dr. Jekyll became Mr. Hyde to me so just be wary of what you're getting into.

I became a patient of Dr. Brown's by chance, after a series of…read moreunfortunate circumstances and a CT scan to check on a skin infection found a tumor in my parotid gland. My PCP referred me to Dr. Brown's practice following an MRI and the few weeks of uncertainty of what exactly this tumor was truly was a blur. The second Dr. Brown walked into the exam room I immediately felt comfortable and could sense his confidence in figuring out whatever was going on with me. He did just that and even was kind enough to consider my upcoming (now postponed because of COVID) wedding. He explained the tumor, where it was, the statistics of where it was and how that relates to complications and recovery. He thoroughly explained and was honest with me about the surgery and the high likelihood of temporary and some permanent side effects. He even told me to expect a few side effects he was fairly confident could or would happen. I was nervous, considering I didn't have an ailment needing to be fixed, rather we were doing this so I didn't need to deal with repercussions later. But I knew I was in good hands. Today, I am one week post op. I have not experienced pain. I have zero of the adverse effects that were expected. Well, I guess one but a numb ear is something I can live with and was the least of my concern. It was comforting to know Dr. Brown was just as happy with the outcome of this story for me as I am. Sure, some of it is "luck" as he put it but it's also skill and attention to detail. That meant so much to me. I also want to note that I'm 26 years old but have seen ENT doctors my entire life having been born premature, diagnosed with hearing loss at age 8, and having nothing but ear, nose and throat issues for years. I remember just about every doctor I've encountered and I thought my last physician was the best of the best. I honestly can say, and have told my family and friends, Dr. Brown is tied in my book as the best ENT I've ever had and I'd trust him again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much Dr. Brown! Go celebrate this success because you very much deserve it.

I went in in 2015 after 6 years of having blue green discharge from my nipples and had aspirations as well as a biopsy in a tag placed. Just recently looking through my paperwork and realizing I was diagnosed with pash disease, which is considered non-cancerous however, it has been over a decade and I have been complaining non-stop about the discomfort in my right breast just to be ignored and not even told that I have a disease. And when I went in just this last year. Dr. E and I were discussing some things and I exclaimed along the lines of I know that obviously some of the stuff I'm dealing with is hormonal and her response was there. You go. You diagnosed yourself! Never once. Did she ever bring up the fact that Cash disease has a lot to do with estrogen and progesterone or even offered to do a full lumpectomy to remove the painful lesion that has been in my breast for the better part of a decade!
