Maison Auer is a historic place located across from Nice Opera House. It opened its doors in 1820 and is Nice's oldest confiserie. It's a fifth-generation family business which started with Henri Auer who was Swiss. So, he knows a thing or two about making good chocolate.
The shop is beautiful. Florentine-style interior with stained glass, chandeliers, big wooden cabinets with marble on top.
Here you can get fruit jellies, chocolates, macarons, caramels, candied nuts, fruit pates, marshmallows, and ice cream. I got myself some chocolates.
Their card machine is slow so, be patient.
