The whole process took only a couple days and he was on time every day at 9am. Finding professionals who are fair and show up on time is amazing. If you have old walls in the area I couldn't recommend him enough. He also did some new construction drywall for me! The man taped like a pro with super professional equipment. Not a fly by night operation. Makes you feel safe having somebody work in your house with matching shirts and licenses and clean work. Highly recommended. His pricing was fair and more importantly he was fast

House guests and other tradesmen who have seen the work have also complimented it and asked who did it. Charlie used to build entire houses so he is very knowledgeable about ALL aspects of construction -- wallboard, plumbing, electrical, gas -- you name it and he knows about it, including all the current building codes. He even helped a plumber who couldn't figure out some plumbing problems that I had. He always does great work and he always cleans up when he's finished the job so you'd never know he was there. He has also given great referrals for more specialized work. I got my cabinet maker, painter, carpet installer, and tile company from him (see other reviews) and they all did a great job too. He is very honest and I always ask his advice if I think some other contractor is trying to snow me or suggest work that isn't necessary.

We have used Hees Construction Company since 1995. The first project…read more he did for us was a complete remodel of our kitchen and two bathrooms. Over the years he has done several other projects, which was installing new windows, new decks, adding a loft in our garage , giving us much needed storage. I have recommended this company to several friends and everyone thank me and said they did a great job. The bids are always accurate, he comes in on budget and on time. Great workmanship, quality, quality, quality. Bill is a rare contractor who not only does excellent work but is a person you can count on. He is a man of his word and has great integrity and takes pride in his work. In addition and very important he stands behind his work . I have not heard that about too many contractors. What I usually hear is that they do the work and then disappear It is now 2014 and I just contracted with Bill to install new french doors and even though it is a small job he always makes time for us. Big or small jobs still gets the same professional attention. Our experience then and through the years has always been very positive. He did everything from insulating the walls, redoing all the plumbing, gas, electric, new chefs kitchen, built in home theater system, new bathrooms, restoring the oak floors, built a lovely flagstone patio... etc. What we liked best was how well he coordinated with other contractors. He took care of the whole process with minimal management on our part. My sister in law went though a major remodel about the same time and found she had to micromanage her contractor, who was never thinking ahead or coordinating with others. Robert did great work at a great price for minimal hassle. If you want it done right he is the man to see.

It was actually great that I met him first of all five because he seemed very knowledgeable and mentioned a few things that I asked the other four floor contractors about (which the other four didn't bring up until I mentioned it, whereas Dan brought it to my attention). I never even heard back from two of the five contractors. He followed up roughly two or three days after I received his bid, and got back to me by email or phone within 24 hours of any message. I did find phone was better for him than email (maybe because he isn't sitting in front of a computer and it is much easier to see a text message than an email). I asked for a quote to provide the lumber and another for me to provide the lumber. The pricing he provided for the lumber was very responsible, but it worked out that I had a connection to get it for a little less so I bought it myself since they delivered directly to my home. We discussed the day he would start and the time frame in which it would be completed. He showed up at the time each day he said he would, kept me updated on a couple items that were unforeseen. Made an extra trip to pick up materials for a unique detail around my fireplace and at the front door and it all came out great. He worked well with my schedule, was polite, professional, and did great work. A little damage occurred to the bottom of a section of wall during removal of baseboard, and he repaired without me even asking for it. Another interesting note is I moved in to this home with the same hardwood floor already in place upstairs (about 9 years ago it was done) and happened to know the exact product since there was a box left over. Upstairs hardwood feels inferior to the work Dan did downstairs for me. Definitely recommend him. The work he did for me was only about 400 s.f., so probably a smaller job in comparison to a full home, but I am sure he does all types and sizes.
