I've never met them before dropping my car off. They do everything they can to not pay out. If you cancel the scam they charge you a fee for not letting them scam you. They ask for proof of payoff and when you provide it, they send the check to the dealer anyway. Not only is it a scam, this is also THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER INTERACTED WITH ON THE PHONE. I was left on hold for a half hour only to be hung up on multiple times. If the dealer is offering these, I would walk away from the entire vehicle purchase.
