I asked Mark to install 3 plugs on the back side of the engine, the hard ones to replace. He advised that would require and hour of service $138. I agreed and signed the agreement. I ended up with a bill including $126.00 diagnostic test. I was told, a new or rebuilt transmission would be appropriate. Do you think they checked the transmission fluid? No but they charged me $126.00 to read the code. I understand car Dealer Service Centers earn $1,000,0000 per year. I think Mark is right up there, ripping off people like me. If you are an honest operator, is there any hope for people driving older cars ?? Try checking the Transmission fluid level, it is not impossible even though it is a sealed system, it has a cap clearly visible and accessible. Gary K.

They did not mention this issue. I paid for the repairs, expecting I could park this thing like a normal person would and the key would come out of the ignition, like it always did before I took it to the shop. That was not the end result that I got. I'm giving them two stars because the vehicle is usable, but now has this quirky way of having to put it into park. That doesn't seem like a satisfactory fix for a car repair shop, but that's just my opinion. They told me after the fact that it's a shifter lever problem causing this, and that would be a really expensive fix, but I wasn't told about this specific piece until I took it back after they "fixed" it. I expected the vehicle to work the way it worked before the cable broke and I took it to the shop. That's what fixing means, but instead while it now will shift, it now has a new issue that it didn't have before. They even acknowledged that one of them repairmen in there could never put it in park the right way that it would release the key. They spend all day messing with it yesterday, just to land on "let's show him the special way to get it in park." Unimpressed to say the least. My opinions on pricing could be off base, but I will share the receipt and let you make judgments for yourself.

Every time I need work done on my car, I go to several shops to get an inspection and a quote for the price. Every other shop slaps on unnecessary repairs in order to squeeze money out of me. Not this shop. They only tell you what you need done, and their prices are ALWAYS cheaper than every other shop. I'd been having recurring cylinder misfires for months. I'm no stranger to mechanical work and did…read moreeverything I could think of to resolve but needed another eye on it. We're 40+ mins away from the nearest BMW garage so I found Mike's Auto which is within 10 minutes. They specialize in import repair according to their site so I brought it in for a diagnostic. I just needed to know what they thought caused it and could probably do the repair myself. I'd already done turbos, O2 sensors, ECU, throttle body, Vanos, etc. The guys were very accommodating but communication was poor, I had to call for any updates or to find out they needed me to authorize a repair. Three weeks and $1800 later I pick up the car and don't even make it a mile before all the misfires come right back. This, despite their assurances that it was test driven multiple times. Right back I go. A week later I'm now told a catalytic converter was plugged and causing faulty readings for air/fuel mix, creating misfires. It made sense, the tech even sent me a video showing his gauge reading. He was confident. Cats were about the only thing I hadn't changed. They estimated 8-9 hours book rate so I took it home and installed some brand new cats myself (3 hours real time.) Car made it several miles this time before the same error messages appeared. So, the diagnosis was still incorrect. I won't be bringing it back. The guys tried hard but it's clear they don't possess any specific import knowledge or experience that will help me out. I've wasted $1800 to get back where I was a month ago, but with a pair of shiny new cats now. They're probably fine doing standard work like suspension or oil leaks but anything more complex seems beyond them.
