At the first meeting, Carolyn pulled out sample after sample of invitations, envelopes, colors, and fonts which were tailored based on our theme (dark, moody florals) and what we were looking for. We had no idea we would be able to hand-pick every single detail of the invitation--the specific flower we wanted on the invitation backdrop, the font, the size of the invitation, the color of the envelope, the photograph of the flowers lining the envelope, the wax seal...the list goes on and on. The customization and flexibility allowed us to create a unique invitation that Carolyn then brought to life. We also had SO much fun choosing additional details/ decorations for our wedding day--from the escort cards, to the menu, to personalized napkins, and hashtag signs--each personalized detail made the night that much more special. We met once with Carolyn in person, and then did the rest from afar. We live in Boston and Carolyn is based in the Chicago area (my hometown). The distance wasn't an issue at all. We had consistent communication, and Carolyn was always easily reachable. She truly nailed it. We were married in October and STILL receive compliments on our wedding invitations. Recently I needed a large number of custom invitations so naturally I came here. We sat down with the owner Sheryl and explained what type of invitations we were looking for. She showed us several catalogs of designs and then we talked about the numbers, timing, etc. Sheryl told us that she has been in this business for many years and it showed. She helped us with suggestions on the wording for the invitations and we exchanged several emails tweaking the text details and proper grammar. We also had the envelopes printed with the addresses. Their thank you note section was itself a bit low in stock, but they clearly don't have that problem through much of the store. There's an entire section dedicated to personalization of invitations and such. They also have so many random items that tangentially relate to thank you notes, including a full display with f-word-themed gifts (keep the kids somewhere else). Full disclosure...I don't swear a ton but bought a set of pens that seem elegant but, up close, say things like "f--- this" (full word tho). Too funny to pass up! They also sell very random books, both "coffee table" and just random interest, such as a book with a sarcastic take on birdwatching and a guide to different whiskeys of the world.
