I Asked these amateurs to sew a badge on a blazer for me, simple right? That's what I thought. They quoted me £30 which I thought was expensive but was prepared to pay for a good job as it was an expensive jacket and a very rare badge. When I went to collect the blazer, the badge was absolutely ruined!! They had damaged the gold braiding around the perimeter of the badge. Obviously done by the machine they had chucked it through! At the price they was charging sewn on by hand didn't seem to much to ask. This was not just any old badge it was a vintage Cunard crest badge which had never been taken out of the packaging and that had taken me two years to track down. When I challenged them about the damage they denied they had caused it, even though I produced a picture I had taken the morning I'd taken the jacket to them to see what it looked like. I asked to see the manager and I was absolutely gob smacked to say the least to find that the person who was dealing with me so poorly was the owner..... she had the attitude of a sixteen year old school leaver on work experience, the only thing missing was the chewing gum. Her customer service was absolutely disgusting at best. I'm sure the owner will come back to this review with some sort of smarmy reply judging by the other bad reviews she's responded to but I'm not prepared getting into tit for tat I just wanted to warn others from experiencing the same as me. There are far better shops you can choose and much more reasonably priced as I found out to my cost. I'm amazed shops like this even exist. I wouldn't ask them to repair a hole in my tea towel.

The shop is downstairs and has a good range of products, whilst the upstairs of the building is dedicated to Jonathon's workshop where he does major alterations and also make his own dresses. He has racks upon racks of exquisite wedding dresses and ballgown ready to buy - he can also show you examples of his work in order to create from scratch the dress of your dreams. Earlier this year I asked him to make some major alterations to my wedding dress (which I had bough off Ebay). He was so lovely - putting up with all my changes of mind and unexpected visits to the shop. He also charged a surprisingly small sum for the work undertaken I would definitely advise you to go to him in good time with any large-scale alterations or for any custom-made outfits, as he has many customers and only himself on the sewing machine!
